Hellogoodbye’s hit single “(Everything is) Debatable” is climbing the charts, reaching number 28 on Mediabase’s Alternative Chart. This month the band will perform at two special holiday shows: KROQ’s Locals Only Showcase in Los Angeles on December 16 and at the Live 105 Low Dough Show in Oakland on December 17Esquire.com is featuring an exclusive acoustic performance of “(Everything is) Debatable” at http://bit.ly/1bXiIAx and Magnet is premiering Hellogoodbye’s video tour diary on their website athttp://bit.ly/1f84YRq. The video features exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the band’s recent tour with Metric and Paramore, which had the band playing for packed audiences at arenas across the country.
Everything is Debatable is out now on Old Friends Records and garnering critical acclaim: MTV Buzzworthy declares “the electro-powered chorus squeezes wordless vocal hooks next to Kline’s lyrics and funky guitar chords, as disco drums keep the beat moving” and Alternative Press hails the album as “an expertly produced indie-pop record” while the OC Register praises the albums “delicate dance-pop melodies.” Please see complete track list below.
Everything is Debatable is the band’s first studio release since 2010’s Would It Kill You? and follows their self-released digital live albumDid It Kill You? Recorded throughout 2012 and 2013 in Nashville, San Francisco, Long Beach and Los Angeles, the new album was produced by Joe Chiccarelli (The Strokes, The White Stripes, My Morning Jacket) and Hellogoodbye frontman Forrest Kline with additional production by Carlos De La Garza (Paramore, M83).
Founded in 2001 by singer Forrest Kline, Hellogoodbye released their first full-length, the acclaimed Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, in 2006. That album’s single “Here (In Your Arms)” went platinum in the U.S. and reached Top 20 on Billboard’s Hot 100. In the wake of the 2006 album’s success, the band appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” and “Last Call with Carson Daly,” as well as at Reading and Leeds festivals, Rock En Seine in Paris and Pukkelpop in Belgium.
Would It Kill You?, the band’s follow-up, was released in 2010 on their own imprint, Wasted Summer. USA Today called the record “a killer batch of indie pop” and Billboard lauded it as “a change of tide for the members of Hellogoodbye separating the California natives from their electro-melodic roots and propelling them into a promising folk-pop future.”
