FELIX CARTAL Releases Music Video for “New Scene” Featuring Ofelia/‘New Scene Feat. Ofelia’ Remixes EP Available Now on Dim Mak Records

Following an exclusive premiere on MTV Clubland and mtvU and featured by major Canadian TV network Much, Canadian electro house golden boy Felix Cartal has unveiled the official music video for his latest single “New Scene” featuring vocalistOfelia. The sentimentally driven “New Scene,” dubbed by BILLBOARD.COM as “one of the best dance recordings of the year and one of the finest in Felix Cartal’s catalogue,” is a featured track on his Past Present Felix EP, available now on Dim Mak Records. The “New Scene” video closes out Felix Cartal’s biggest year to date. Directed byKasey Lum, the video features Felix Cartal and Ofelia in a modern age love story, beautifully shot throughout the streets of Vancouver. “The concept behind the ‘New Scene’ video was to show two contrasting ideas in the same shot,” explains Felix Cartal. “You’ll never see people playing Twister in a fancy nightclub. You’ll never see people eating expensive caviar with a cheap cracker. My vision was to show these two worlds that clashed in one image: the perceived reality and the actuality of that reality and the thought of creating your own ‘new scene.’ The track was one of my favorites from the EP with Ofelia killing it on the vocals, and I thought it deserved a proper and modern music video. I think we nailed it.”

The Past Present Felix EP—praised by ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT—inspired a slew of accompanying remix projects stemming from the original package. The most recent New Scene (feat. Ofelia) remix EP has made waves across national and international media alike, including NOISEY (Vice) and DJ MAG (U.K.) with featured remixes from producers/DJs TOKiMONSTADeorroLucky Date & Felix Cartal, andLazy Rich.

The Past Present Felix EP has taken Felix Cartal’s career to new heights. Past Present Felix highlights a new creative direction for Felix Cartal with a heavier focus on vocal-based songwriting. The 4-track EP—which reached the Top 20 on the iTunes Dance Top Albums chart and registered across various Beatport charts—showcases the new, musically matured Felix Cartal, whose sound boasts the perfect contrast of ethereal vocals, enchanting melodies, and punchy bass lines, and takes the young producer on an unprecedented sonic journey. In addition to releasing Past Present Felixthis year, Felix Cartal also launched the After Dark North American Tour, which took him across major clubs and venues throughout the U.S. and his native Canada. He also performed at this year’s *Electric Zoo and Tomorrowland festivals, both times on theDim Mak Up All Night Stage.
