Something In Spanish Release (Matthew Dear vs Audion Remix) MP3 + Video!

Brooklyn based & Miami raised electronic adventure pop group, Something in Spanish, has released its first single “For Slowing Down,” produced with Andrew Raposo (Midnight Magic, Jessica 6). Alongside the single, the band has shared the “For Slowing Down” video, a fun, visual re-imagining of the seedy Miami Vice era, as well as a hot remix by famed DJ/Producer Matthew Dear titled “For Slowing Down” (Matthew Dear vs Audion Mix) MP3 which premiered with RCRD LBL.

The original song was recorded at Raposo’s Midnight Sun Studio, and the "Matthew Dear vs Audion" remix is a generous showcase of Dear’s unique sonic sensibility--drawing from both his recent records and the headier acid techno of his alter ego Audion. “For Slowing Down” is a subtle love letter to Miami and its slow paced careless groove that Julio and Michelle grew up in. It is available onSpotifyiTunes and emusic.com.

Something in Spanish is Julio Monterrey (electronics/synthesizers), Michelle Perez (vocals) and with the new addition of David Mason (electronic drums). Influenced by romantic melodies, Michelle is drawn to emotion and movement; while Julio works within avant sound collages and a horror aesthetic. With a unique sensibility, their live show is an engaging experience. Their rare ability to fuse drama and performance sheds light on the group’s individual personalities.

Come experience Something in Spanish live @ Piano's on May 14th and Cameo on June 10th.
