Indie Troubadours The Wilderness of Manitoba Pack Tents & Songs for Tour

LOS ANGELES, August 4, 2011 - As chamber-folk ensemble The Wilderness of Manitobacontinues its string of tour dates across the US following the release of the band's debut album,When You Left The Fire, they join a varied group of artists on the road, ranging from Aimee Mann to Rasputina to Cloud Cult, illustrating that as a band, they rarely fit into a single category.

TWOM

This band of troubadours is staying true to their DIY ethic and also determined to share their songs with the masses. While the band can't control the cost of traveling, they can control where they sleep. Instead of paying for nightly hotel accommodations, the clever bunch packed their tents, intended to camp along the route. Their wallet-friendly approach makes touring a viable option for this determined group.

The Wilderness of Manitoba's unique blend of stunning multi-vocal arrangements, merged elegantly with lush melodies, has garnered the attention of the online community, where the band is currently seeing success with various tracks such as "Summer Fires." The captivating and bittersweet song was just named one of the "Best Songs of 2011 So Far" by Amazon, is currently featured as a free download on Fuse.TV and was previously available on Zune and as part of eMusic's "Daily Download."

Meanwhile, the video for "Orono Park" was featured as Spinner's "Video of the Day," which highlighted the outfit and added: "For first-time listeners and die-hard fans, the call and response between lead vocalist Will Whitwham and back-up singer Melissa Dalton will leave your indie senses tingling and your eardrums wanting more." Additionally, that same video graced the front page of Yahoo! Music's video site. And if that wasn't enough, the live video for "Hermit" was premiered exclusively on Blurt, which revealed a group that sings so earnestly, it's hard to not be captivated. "Think early Joni Mitchell and the first Crosby, Stills & Nash album, and you've got one of the prettiest, most wistful albums of the year. Highly recommended," wrote the Toronto Star.
