Gabriel & Dresden is a musical partnership responsible for 17 #1 hits on the Billboard charts, remixes of The Killers,
Shiny Toy Guns, Annie Lennox, Dido, Jewel, and were also tapped to remix Gustavo Santaolalla’s Academy Award
winning theme track from Brokeback Mountain "The Wings”. With the success of their just completed year-long tour
in support of their critically acclaimed artist album released just last year, Gabriel & Dresden have proved that both in
the studio and behind the decks at venues around the globe, they have become known as a genre defying and dance
floor mastering duo. They are set to do it all over again – with Toolroom Knights Vol 2, releasing on Oct 23rd backed
with a long list of tour dates – all kicking off at Lovefest.
At this year’s Lovefest, Gabriel & Dresden will be performing both in the Parade and at the much anticipated after event
with Sasha, with quite a bit to celebrate. Toolroom Records tapped the famed team to mix their second edition in the
Toolroom Knights series. Toolroom Records is responsible for some of the most forward thinking house music releases
in the last 4 years, and has received numerous nods in recognition for the feat. Recent Toolroom releases include Mark
Knight’s chart topping “Insatiable”, Artificial Funk “Your Never Alone” Noirs “My MTV” and recent club anthems from
Robbie Rivera “Your Mistake”, Paul Harris “Find Yourself A Friend, Dave Spoon “Outside EP” & Fedde le Grand “Just Trippin’
Toolroom Knights Volume 2 is a dual disc that again refutes any attempt to pigeonhole the sound that Gabriel & Dresden
encompass. This mix takes the listener on a more organic and textural musical landscape, adeptly blending sounds from indie
rock band Junior Boys to Claude Von Stroke, Apparat, and The Knife. This collection brings the debut of Gabriel &
Dresden's popular remix of the Killers "Read My Mind," and includes exclusive tracks such as Gabriel & Dresden's
re-interpretation of label boss Mark Knight's (with D. Ramirez) "Columbian Soul", their remix of Monochrome "Pearl",
and Shlomi Aber & Itamar Sagi's "Blonda". Unreleased Josh Gabriel tracks "Summit" and "Crosstalk" add a peek into
the solo record he's quietly making.

Dirty Vegas: from Grammy to Emmy, Billboard Dance Summit, new album & DVD - USA TOUR !!
Grammy award winning songwriter, singer, founder and guitarist, recording under Dirty Vegas' Steve Smith has settled in his new hometown of Massachussettes, where he will launch his solo album to a housewarming audience of 100,000 people at Harvard Square when his band will headline the annual street festival on October 7th, before flying straight to Las Vegas to premier the opening night of Billboard Dance Summit.
That goes well with the title of his new album 'This Town', which features Anthony Saffery (Beck) , Actor Jon Savage (Deer Hunter/Hair), Terry Barber a counter-tenor from the NYSO, Jay Ungar the principal violinist for James Horner (Titanic/Legends of the Fall) and Rob Swift (X-ecuitioners/Quincy Jones). The result is a collection of songs that blend folk/rock and electronica, and Steve’s craft of songwriting that fuses all those styles together.
Oh and did we mention the Emmy nomination?! 'Late nights and Street Fights' from the new album was the title song of the Fox TV series Standoff & nominated for an Emmy last week.
Steve Smith recently wrote the score for "The Boys & Girls Guide to Getting Down," a 2006 film about clubbing in Los Angeles, released this month on DVD with a CD soundtrack mixed by Dirty Vegas that Film Threat calls: Infectious.
Check out his accoustic performance on NECN, and look out for Jay Leno's coverage of Harvard Square, or catch Dirty Vegas DJing and performing at a near you.
His crowd pleasing appearance at the V Festival & sold out gigs across the country rencetly a telling sign things are getting very Dirty these days!

System of a Down's Dolmayan, Torpedo Comics
With multi-Platinum rock band System of a Down currently on hiatus and his Scars on Broadway project with SOAD's Daron Malakian in the early stages, drummer John Dolmayan will fulfill his other passion of comic books and collectibles by launching Torpedo Comics (http://www.torpedocomics.com/), an exclusively Internet-based retail store. Torpedo Comics goes live on November 1, 2007, and will boast some 15-million items - comic books, toys, graphic novels, trade paperbacks, superhero action figures and other comic book-related memorabilia, ranging in price from 99-cents to six-figures.
Dolmayan, who has been collecting comic books since he was 12, houses Torpedo Comics' inventory in a just-completed 30,000-square foot warehouse in Las Vegas, NV where he now lives. He employs a staff of 25 who catalogue and care for rare items like Sensation Comics issue #1 (the first solo series featuring Wonder Woman), just about every key issue of Marvel and DC comics including Marvel Comics' issue #1, multiple copies of Giant Size X-Men #1, plus superhero action figures from Marvel, X-Men, Superman, and Batman titles. Torpedo Comics will also offer original comic art, created between the 1940s and the present, by some 150 different artists, including Jim Lee, Art Adams, Bernie Wrightson, and Alejandro Gaza.
Dolmayan incorporated his love for comic books into the drum kit that he played during System of a Down's 2006 tour. Dolmayan contacted 22 of his favorite comic book artists, including Jim Lee, Simon Bisley, Kevin Eastman, Neal Adams and Bill Sienkiewicz, were each sent various pieces of the drum kit onto which they drew original illustrations.
As for Dolmayan and Malakian's Scars on Broadway venture, the two have been writing and rehearsing new material and plan to begin recording their debut album on September 27, intended for a Summer 2008 release.
As drummer for System of a Down, Dolmayan shared in the band's global success of some 20-million albums sold, headlining sold-out arenas, having three consecutive #1 albums on the Billboard charts, four Grammy nominations and one win for Best Hard Rock Performance, all the while maintaining a high musical integrity, its core fan base, and its position as one of the most unique band in rock.

The Felice Brothers Get Bright Eyes Fall Tour/Bowery Ballroom with Jason Isbell October 10th/CMJ shows TBA
"The next generation of Americana heroes." Uncut Magazine
"Scruffy and scratched Americana that recalls Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark and early Springsteen." Time Out London
"Right now my favorite drinking buddy is The Felice Brothers. It's music best described by my friend: It's three in the
morning, sleepy drunk, secretly holding the hand of the one you love." The Guardian UK
"The Felice Brother's Catskills Folk is rough around the edges and intoxicating.....Ryan Adams: eat your heart out."
Metroland/Best Of 2007
"Tonight At The Arizona documents the reality of happy endings not being one of life’s guarantees."
Drowned In Sound Magazine
"The Felice Brothers write epic songs with lofty titles and they wield a massive accordion. All that is reason enough to give
them a day in court." Vice Magazine
"The best new music I've heard all year." Jimmy Buff/Radio Woodstock
"Great...that song about the boxer is a classic." Vin Scelsa
"Backwoods Americana is all the rage, but this band of brothers is a cut above the rest." 4 Stars The Sun UK
Fresh off their coast-to-coast US headlining tour, the Felice Brothers hook up with Bright Eyes for a November East Coast run. But the boys didn’t spend the summer touring just the states, they WOW-ed ‘em across the pond warming stages for the Waterboys, David Gray and Blanche.
The Felice Brothers travel the world performing homegrown and gritty Americana on city stages as if they were hosting a sing-along on their front porch in the rolling hills of their native Catskill, NY. All are invited to the hootenanny. The sound that emerges from their instruments seeps with authenticity that’s rooted in the tradition of dusty bar rooms. Music that feels like a stolen bottle of red wine shared with friends, and a woozy summer night filled with the promise of love, danger, barbecue and fireworks, all rolled into one.
The Felice Brothers continue to support their internationally acclaimed Loose Records release “Tonight at the Arizona” on US soil. Fans will be able to grab hold of a limited number of their exclusive “tour only” album “Adventures of the Felice Bros Vol.1.”
Dirtbags capturing lightning and spinning it into harvest gold. That’s how the Felice Bros consider themselves. "Dirtbags"
because the Felice Brothers (three of them – Ian, Simone and James – brothers of blood, with dice-throwing bassist
Christmas adopted in as blood brother) are the type of guys who, no matter how much you wire-brush scrub them, will
never clean up entirely. They're a bunch of slouching Hudson River pirates who’s penchant for panhandling and busking in
subways and sidewalks bring backwoods charm to everyone person they touch.

FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES ON TOUR WITH SILVERSTEIN
“(Francis) Mark spends most of this excellent fourth disc wrecking hisvocal cords, while his mates churn out the kind of thrashcore riffs that even the most cynical metal fan could headbang along to approvingly.” – SPIN
“…Their new album is actually their strongest and heaviest yet.” – GUITAR WORLD
After taking a well deserved September vacation, FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES will hit the road with Silverstein on a four-week U.S. tour, which kicks off on October 2nd in Rockford, IL. Please see all tour dates below.
From Autumn To Ashes is enjoying quite a successful year, riding high on the band’s newly adopted motto, “sky’s the limit.” After well-documented internal strife, FATA recorded Holding A Wolf By The Ears (4/07, Vagrant) with Brian McTernan (Thrice, Senses Fail), and released the album to critical acclaim. …Wolf debuted at #74 on the Billboard Top 200, and left REVOLVER to claim “(…Wolf is) Catchier and more concise than its predecessors…(and) head banging cuts like “Delusions of Grandeur” suggest that their recent struggle has only made them hungrier,” while ALTERNATIVE PRESS commented “Scorched-earth screams and machine-gun bass-drum stabs anchor the sound in hardcore chaos…Mark’s pleading vocals steal the show…bands shouldn’t be able to do so many things well at once.”
With former drummer/co-vocalist Francis Mark settling into his newly minted frontman position, and original bassist Mike Pilato rejoining the group, FATA has been tearing up roadways on both ends of the Atlantic non-stop since March. FATA recently wrapped a headlining European and U.K. run, which brought the band to summer festivals such as Highland, Pukkelpop and the Carling festival in Leeds and Reading, U.K.. From Autumn To Ashes is also making its debut south of the
border, playing a handful of dates in Mexico following this outing with Silverstein.

Two Gallants 3rd album in stores today, US/Europe Headlining Tour Dates
“Two Gallants have emerged from the mess and continue, with this, their third LP, to blow all other current drum-guitar combos out of the water. That’s right – all of them.” - VICE Magazine
“A soul cleansing anthem...Two Gallants make good on their abundant promise with this third LP.” - MOJO (4-star review)
“But even when they’re tearing through an electric scorcher that sounds like the handiwork of a much larger band, their archaic, frontier-era Americana comes off as more pleasant than foreboding.” - DETAILS
“Two Gallants’ devastating punk-folk-blues is like a nail gun: it rivets you to where you stand. It’s viciously cathartic.” - The Stranger (Seattle, WA)
“Splendidly splenetic balladry” - Uncut (4-star review)
“Two Gallants play out their own brand of audio vignettes, producing thoughtful and moving songs with a sound conjuring tumbleweed poetry and the vast plains of the Wild West.” - CMJ
"Stephens and Vogel were weaving a magical spell. Stephens played guitar in a folk/classical arpeggio style that enabled him to pick out a bass line with his thumb while tracing the melody with his fingers, while Vogel added a heavy funk emphasis to the rhythm. Mixing folk, country, blues and alternative Americana influences, they skillfully welded the songs together." - The Times UK (4-star review)
In a world where bigger is often considered better and quality is sacrificed with ease, Two Gallants have risen against the tide with their cathartic, stripped-down sound and depth of material to forge an intimate bond with a wide array of fans. Through the shared experience of growing up together in San Francisco, Two Gallants have pushed each other into a unique and timeless spectrum of music. They craft emotional, visceral, intelligent songs that captivate listeners with a unique breed of folk, country blues and punk.
Well known for their impassioned live sets and and two solid albums (2004’s 'The Throes' and 2006’s 'What The Toll Tells'), Two Gallants have garnered remarkable praise. But it’s the pair of 2007 releases, the acoustic EP 'Scenery of Farewell' and self-titled third full-length, that finds the band coming of age in the studio. Produced by with Alex Newport (Mars Volta, At the Drive-In) at San Francisco's Hyde Street Studios, Two Gallants have created their most fully-realized, cohesive piece of work to date.

WEST INDIAN GIRL SINGLE “BLUE WAVE” AVAILABLE ON iTUNES TODAY
Coming off a successful performance at the Treasure Island Music Festival in San Francisco and a recent packed house gig at Spaceland in Los Angeles, WEST INDIAN GIRL continue to lead in to the October 23 release of their new album 4th & Wall (Milan Records) with the single iTunes release of “Blue Wave” today. In addition, Digital entertainment company Flycell has launched a series of mobile exclusives including ringtones, wallpapers and video to coincide with the single's release. More will be added over the coming weeks in anticipation of the album's release in October. Get connected at www.flycell.com/wig.
West Indian Girl's fusion of undeniable guitar riffs, prog-like keyboard flourishes and pulsing rhythms on “Blue Wave” pour a perfect foundation for the mind-melding hook and tsunami of blissful harmonies that follow. "It's about finding the best thing in life, be it a wave or a state of mind or a perfect escape," bassist Francis Ten says. Stemming from an infectious hook and a guitar part brought to the band by his musical partner Robert James, the ode to surfing on the bluest wave is destined to become a favorite of both discerning music lovers and aberrant fun seekers across the globe.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times recently took note of the environment in which the album was created. Noted Kevin Bronson on 9/13/07: “From the jammy, intrepid glimmer of 4th & Wall, you'd never suspect it was shaped amid the grit and desperation of late-night downtown. ‘We've always been laced with a certain degree of positivity, ’Ten says. ‘The nice thing is that we're doing our own thing; we're not looking over our shoulder thinking, 'Oh, there's another band that sounds like us.' Shitdisco tour cancelled
"It is with deep regret that Shitdisco are having to cancel their up coming tour of the United States of America and Canada. Band member Joel Stone was today rushed into hospital. He is being kept there for the next couple of days where specialists will decide what action to take. He has been told he is too unwell to travel for the foreseeable future. The band would like to thank everyone who has booked them to play on this tour, and hope that they will get the chance to play the country soon." - Management.
1990s on tour!
THE breakout band this summer was Scottish rockers 1990s, whose Cookies went top ten at college radio and landed the band features in major magazines all over the country. Featuring former Yummy Fur members (the band whose other half went on to become Franz Ferdinand) the guys have been wowing 'em at the UK festivals and at a few much buzzed about New York and Los Angeles shows.
Now, they’re bringing their show to the rest of the country, setting out on a fall tour in the company Texan dance-party darlings, Voxtrot. They’ll also be joining fellow Brits Art Brut for a few dates, much to the Anglophilic joy of indierockers everywhere. They’ll even be playing with recently resurrected ‘60s legend Roky Erickson.
"1990s...pursue their ridiculous CBGB punk fantasies with almost religious devotion, resulting in the some of the most hilariously brilliant singles of the past year." - 4 of 5 star review - ROLLING STONE
"No they're not a grunge tribute act. Rather, they're a three-piece from Glasgow whose effervescent British Invasion sing-alongs got them signed after only six months" - SPIN
"The CD We're Totally Gay For… They have so much fun playing hot rock stars, it's almost better than the real thing" - BLENDER

Lamb Of God And Killswitch Engage Announce Co-Headlining US Tour
Grab your earplugs and prepare for some of the most earth shattering, blazingly deafening metal you will hear this holiday season! Genre defining metal titans Killswitch Engage and Lamb of God have announced that they will be teaming up for a late fall co-headlining tour. Almost four years after their first run together on MTV2’s Headbangers Ball Tour, the two powerhouses have reunited to bring holiday mayhem throughout the US. The tour will begin on November 28th in Lowell, Massachusetts and end on December 17th in Albuquerque, New Mexico with Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage alternating headlining slots each night. Directly supporting these metal juggernauts will be DevilDriver, with Swedish metallers Soilwork kicking off the show each evening.
After a successful premier run on Warped Tour 2007, Killswitch Engage recently released As Daylight Dies Special Edition, a CD/DVD combo featuring the MySpace video favorite and current Active Rock hit "Holy Diver." The special edition also features previous unreleased studio tracks and full music videos for “My Curse,” “The Arms of Sorrow” and of course “Holy Diver.” Poised to conquer, this tour will bring the band full circle – honoring the metal fans that have been with them from the start and have helped them gain such notable success.
Lamb of God will be wrapping up the Sacrament album cycle with this tour. After 18 months of touring with Slayer, Megadeth, Ozzfest, Heaven and Hell, and headlining runs in the US, Japan, Australia, UK and Europe, Lamb of God will take 2008 off to prepare for a new CD. Fans will get a new dose of Lamb of God in 2008 with a full length DVD, set for release in the spring. The DVD will document the entire Sacrament experience, beginning with rehearsals for the albums recording straight through this headline run.
Roadrunner artist, DevilDriver, will be offering direct support for the tour in support of their latest release, The Last Kind Words, which has been received with high critical and fan acclaim. Offering a melting pot of metallic influences, DevilDriver deliver a binding mix of jarring drums, grinding guitars, and unmistakably brutal vocals by front man Dez Fafara. Also joining the tour will be Swedish melodic metal masters, Soilwork, who will be releasing their new album Sworn to a Great Divide on October 19th via Nuclear Blast Records.
Take a break from the holiday melee to witness the sheer metal madness of Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage united. “Yes the rumors are true, Killswitch and Lamb of God are back together again” Killswitch vocalist Howard Jones affirms. “We had our honeymoon four years ago and now it’s time to renew our metal vows. This is your official invitation - the only one you will ever need.” Chris Adler from Lamb of God adds "Touring the Sacrament album has been some of the most exciting times we have ever experienced. It has taken us around the world several times over, playing the biggest shows of our career with some of the best bands in the business and in front of the greatest fans in the world. We are tighter, stronger and smarter than we have ever been and before we put the machine that is Lamb of God to bed for a little while and call an end to the touring cycle, we want to bring it to the next level. So together with our true friends in Killswitch, DevilDriver and Soilwork we plan to bring you something that won't be forgotten. Thanks to everyone who has supported us and we are looking forward to one more brutal evening with all of you!!!"
Presale tickets will go on sale on October 3 through www.lamb-of-god.com and www.killswitchengage.com. Tickets go on sale to the public on October 12 and 13 – check your local listings for details.

See the Darfur Tragedy Through the Eyes of an Unlikely Hero
Sudan, the largest country in Africa has, for decades, also been the most violent. Following a 20-year civil war which claimed over 2 million innocents, a barbaric genocide has continued unabated in Darfur, where hundreds and thousands of civilian lives have been lost. However, this crisis went largely unnoticed around the world until one witness took a stand to expose the unfathomable horrors perpetrated by a government waging dark war on its citizens. Following a triumphant and eye-opening 60-market theatrical release, THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK, from award-winning filmmakers Annie Sundberg and Ricki Stern, will make its DVD debut on October 30, exclusively from Docurama®.
“An outstanding film. It’s superb, period.”
-- The New York Times
A 2007 world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK is an up-close, honest, and uncompromising look at the horrific genocide in Darfur as seen through the eyes of one courageous American: former U.S. Marine Captain Brian Steidle, who served as an unarmed military observer with the African Union. Using the exclusive photographs and first hand testimony of Steidle, the film goes on an emotionally charged journey into the heart of Darfur, where in 2004, Steidle became witness to a genocide that to date has claimed over 400,000 lives. As an official military observer, he had access to parts of the country that no journalist could penetrate. Unprepared for what he would witness and experience, Steidle returned to the U.S. armed with his photographs, intent on exposing the images and stories of lives systematically destroyed.
Inspired by Nicholas Kristof’s groundbreaking op-ed series “The American Witness” in The New York Times and based on Steidle’s acclaimed book “The Devil Came on Horseback,” the film has won several prestigious awards including: Seeds of War Award from Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, Witness Award AFI/Silverdocs and, aside from Sundance, was also an Official Selection at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival. This astonishingly propulsive and dramatic film is a heartfelt account of what this particular American witness saw and, just as important, what he did afterward.
In addition to the extraordinary full-length documentary, the DVD also features a bonus short film, Supporting Survivors and “Take Action, Save Darfur: How to Help”.

Mudvayne Announce First Ever Fan Generated Album
Hard rock radio pioneers Mudvayne and Epic Records are proud to announce the upcoming release, By The People, For The People which is set to hit stores November 27th. The highly anticipated new album consists of several live recordings, rarities, demos, as well as two new recordings including the first single, “Dull Boy” – which was produced by Dave Fortman and recorded in New Orleans - as well as an incredible never before heard cover of the Police’s “King of Pain.”
The album is aptly titled By The People, For The People, because it is entirely fan-generated. Mudvayne is creating history by offering their diehard fans the opportunity to participate in creating the entire content of the album. Starting on September 26th, fans will be able to visit www.mudvayne.com and www.myspace.com/mudvayne to help pick the track listing, submit fan generated album artwork, and participate in creating the video for first single, “Dull Boy” which makes its radio debut in early October. “We have some of the greatest fans and this album is a way for us to give back to those that have supported us throughout the years,” states Chad Gray of Mudvayne.
By The People, For The People affords Mudvayne a chance to give back to their loyal fans that have stood by them throughout their entire career, one that exploded in 2000 with the release of the MTV2-award winning video, “Dig.” This album spotlights the disruption of traditional media and the band’s desire to further connect with their fans.
Every Mudvayne studio album has received gold certification including Mudvayne’s last release, 2005’s “Lost And Found,” which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 and generated the hit single, “Happy?” which skyrocketed to take the #1 spot at radio and remained there for an incredible 10 weeks. Mudvayne has sold over 4.5 million units worldwide, resulting in an incredible 6 gold-certified releases. In addition, the band was also nominated for Best Metal Performance at the 2005 Grammy’s.
Singer Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbett are on tour with HELLYEAH for the remainder of 2006. However, Mudvayne returns with a new studio album in 2008.

Meredith Bragg's new album, Silver Sonya, set for Dec. 11 release!
Acclaimed artist Meredith Bragg will release his first album without his usual backing band, the Terminals, on December 11, 2007. The Kora Records (Gregor Samsa, Donny Hue and the Colors) will handle the release duties. Named for the studio in which it was recorded, Silver Sonya is a personal and immersive work, created solely from Meredith’s voice and guitar.
Late in 2006, Bragg met with Chad Clark (Beauty Pill, Smart Went Crazy) and T.J. Lipple (Aloha) at their studio, Silver Sonya, to discuss his plan for a solo record. The trio worked together on his last record, The Departures EP, which forged a strong friendship as well as a strong producer/artist relationship. If anyone was willing to jump off the bridge Bragg was headed towards, he knew it would be them. The idea for the record consisted of two rules --
Rule #1: Only the sounds Meredith could get from his acoustic guitar or voice could be used.
Rule #2: Once recorded, there were no restrictions on how those sounds could be manipulated.
After recording the basic tracks, these sounds were pulled, filtered, shifted, butchered, looped, broken, and mended. While some songs changed little, others developed from the process, unfolding in excitingly unexpected ways. Out of this process came a record that can be described as both expansive and intimate, fractured and yet whole. So while you listen to songs about Roman statues, volcanoes, middle eastern scientists, or forgotten road-side attractions, remember that every sound and every word are outcomes of a process shaped through limited resources that opened up otherwise hidden options.
Bragg’s previous releases, Vol. 1 and The Departures EP, were highly acclaimed affairs, lauded by Magnet, Pitchfork Media, and Paste Magazine, among others. Bragg plans to record a new album with the Terminals in 2008.
Press for Meredith Bragg:
“Bragg's folk chamber group issues a remarkable statement without raising the volume” – Paste
“Delicate, haunted music...Bragg is someone worth getting close to” – Magnet

Wall to Wall Guitar Festival, Take Two a Huge Success
The Wall to Wall Guitar Festival, Take Two held at the Krannert Center for Performing Arts on the University of Illinois campus September 13-15 proved that guitar music, in its many forms, is alive and well in the legends and up and comers alike. From Kaki King and Natalia Zukerman to Buddy Guy and John McLaughlin, the various theaters, corridors, lobbies and patios of the Krannert Center exploded with the sounds of guitar: acoustic, electric, lap steel and oud. Toubab Krewe kicked off the weekend Thursday night with their American-rock-meets-West-African-rhythm sounds, and master slide guitar player Cindy Cashdollar joined bluesman Sonny Landreth for an unforgettable lesson in blues music. Also on Thursday evening, The Yohimbe Brothers featuring Vernon Reid and turntablist DJ Logic rocked the house. All the while, globe-trotting guitar anthropologist Bob Brozman and Grammy winner Ledward Kaapana played beautiful Hawaiian music under the stars. By late Thursday night, it was clear that the weekend would be full of unforgettable collaborations from a wide range of virtuoso musicians.
Festival highlights included the percussive sounds of young Kaki King who performed in the Wood, Steel, & Beyond concert with veteran strings-men Tony McManus and Alex de Grassi. A strong showing by Shawn Colvin and Natalia Zukerman assured the crowd that guitar music is not lost on young women, as their skillful playing highlighted their outstanding vocal performances. On Friday evening, the festival’s range was undeniable as the Global Guitar concert, which featured international players Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Rahim AlHaj and Pierre Bensusan , came to a close, and the audience moved from the Great Hall to the Tryon Festival Theatre to enjoy the Latin sounds of multi-Grammy winners Los Lobos. The hill country, blues-infused rock ‘n’ roll of the North Mississippi Allstars offered what can only be called a romping throw down. And when they brought in good friend and Chicago’s own Jake Cinninger (guitarist for Umphrey’s McGee) to play a handful of tunes, the crowd couldn’t have asked for more. The festival culminated Saturday evening as John McLaughlin and the 4th Dimension took the stage in the Colwell Playhouse, playing to a sold out audience on the edge of their seats. A true master of his art, McLaughlin did not disappoint and received rave reviews across the board. Few performances could follow such a crowd pleasing show, but the Evening Blues concert with Abdoulaye Alhassane Toure & Banning Eyre, Jorma Kaukonen, Buddy Guy and Cindy Cashdollar was the perfect billing and the artists delivered a stellar performance.
Now in its second year, the first Wall to Wall Guitar Festival took place in 2005 and was a huge success. Building on the momentum of that inaugural year, The Wall to Wall Guitar Festival, Take Two offered more than 20 performances by more than 30 artists from all over the world. The state-of-the-art facilities at the Krannert Center, paired with a handpicked line-up by Artistic Advisor David Spelman , provide Wall to Wall with top-of-the-line acoustic rooms to showcase the outstanding talent of some of the world’s finest guitar players. Truly a festival with something for everyone, Wall to Wall sent this year’s crowd home more than satisfied, and already asking about the 2009 event. With all that music, it’s no wonder the festival takes a year off to gear up for the next one.
For an inside listen on all things Wall to Wall, be sure to check out www.walltowallguitar.com and Tim Brookes’ podcast series and a handful of featured performances available on iTunes.

Earl Greyhound Add 16 New Dates To Chris Cornell Fall Tour Plus 2 Solo Shows in Denver & Columbus
"You can tell by the way Earl Greyhound pistol-whip the middle of "Monkey" in chopped-up meter,
"Black Dog" style, that they are here to get the Led out." - Rolling Stone
"Whether or not Earl Greyhound are the next big thing is irrelevant—watching them will convince
you that they are." - New Yorker
"Rhythmic intelligence itself isn't enough to melt this much face. Matt Whyte's ballsy vocals, the
never-cheated transitions, the sly way the song switches to swung-feel for a finale and then
quotes "Dig a Pony"-- that's the stuff that makes the flames extra fiery." - Pitchfork Media
"This band can crush your favorite band...As heavy as Led Zeppelin, but way less obnoxious, Earl
Greyhound update traditional hard rock by leaving out the crotch-happy swagger, with terrific results.
Fronted by excitable guitarist Matt Whyte, the New York trio seem happiest when they're trying to
simulate an earthquake on the pounding "S.O.S.," though even the Beatles-esque "Good" produces a
wicked rumble. For that, credit rude drummer Ricc Sheridan, who cheerfully tries to demolish each
song, regardless of style." - SPIN Magazine (4 Stars)
"A roadhouse riff-rock monster so unbelievably brawny it sounds like it's crushing beer kegs on its
forehead." - Blender
Earl Greyhound’s Fall 2007 is just keeps getting better! After a couple of amazing dates with Warren Haynes and
Shooter Jennings, Kamara, Matt & Ricc with be sharing the stage with the one one only, Chris Cornell, and now, Earl
Greyhound have been added to the entire November tour dates. The trio just recently rocked out at the Monolith
Festival with Flaming Lips & Art Brut, and soon will be taking part in the Voodoo Music Experience with Rage Against

"Rhythmic intelligence itself isn't enough to melt this much face. Matt Whyte's ballsy vocals, the

quotes "Dig a Pony"-- that's the stuff that makes the flames extra fiery." - Pitchfork Media

NEW BATTLES EP AND FALL TOUR DATES!
2007 has been an amazing year for Battles, with the release of their first full length record, Mirrored (Warp Records), and sold out shows across the world. Drawing praise from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Spin, NPR, Esquire, Alternative Press, Filter, Magnet, Billboard, Blender, The Fader, The New York Times and more, they set the precedent amongst their peers and made a record '....unlike any recording out there at the moment.' (All Music). Now Battles return with the Tonto+ EP, comprised of remixes from contributors The Field, Four Tet, DJ EMZ and Joell Ortiz, along with a bonus DVD package that includes the new video for the song, 'Tonto'.
The Tonto video, following in the footsteps of the much lauded Atlas video, showcases Battles' unique live setup. Produced by Warp Films in conjunction with celebrated light artists UVA, Tonto was shot in a remote rock quarry from dusk til dawn and is a one time live performance of the 8 minute epic song.
PRESS ON BATTLES:
"In fact, Battles may be the first band to really play with the way that 21st century software can extend and distend the sound of a rock band in real time..." - PITCHFORK (9.1)
"Complex, expertly done electro rock with dabs of techno and shadowy oddball tunes as well as kick-ass drumming. Think TV on the Radio collaborating with Aphex Twin." - ROLLING STONE
"Bemusement turns to amusement; then comes the sneaking suspicion that Mirrored might just be a work of deranged genius."--BLENDER
"Battles shrouds rock in an enigma, wraps percussion in a puzzle, and comes out with beautifully confusing music."-XLR8R

MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE's Live DVD Debuts at #5 on Billboard's Music Video Chart!
Much to the chagrin of the music industry, MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE's first foray into the world of live DVDs, Our Pain, Your Gain (UCR/Metropolis Video) has debuted at an astounding chart position of Number Five on Billboard's "Top Music Video" chart. Selling 3,500 copies in the first week alone (release date: 9/11/07), the DVD chronicles performances that were filmed over three nights at NYC's Webster Hall just weeks after guitarist Steve, Righ? was hospitalized for partial hip replacement. What makes this significant is that he brings more danger and reckless abandon to the stage than most healthy teenagers in bands today.
There are over twenty songs plus videos and behind-the-scenes footage that fans don't usually get to see. The DVD was directed by Doug Spangenberg, most notable for his Lamb Of God DVD Killadephia that was certified Gold.
Formed in 1997, MSI has been storming the electronic and punk scenes, sweeping up many hardcore fans in its wake. With seminal albums as Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy and last year's You'll Rebel to Anything, the band has been building organically and completely independently (a pointless major label stint with Elektra proved even more telling that they should keep things in their own control). And earlier this year, their fierce determination paid off. Occupying two slots in Billboard's respected "Hot Dance Single Sales Chart" with their single "Shut Me Up" snagging the #1 spot and "Straight to Video" at #5 during the same second week of January 2007, MSI laid waste over Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, and even Madonna.
The band will be touring throughout Europe during the whole month of October and into the second week of November, supporting My Chemical Romance. They are also currently working on the follow-up to 2005's You'll Rebel to Anything, which is slated for release early 2008.

L7's Donita Sparks First Solo Tour, Debut CD & More!
Hear ye! Hear ye! Donita Sparks (www.myspace.com/donitasparks), front person extraordinaire for the legendary rock band L7, hits the road backed by her new band The Stellar Moments for a five-week tour with The Donnas. The last time Sparks was on tour was in 2000 with L7. Today she finds herself in the midst of her first national solo tour ever that began September 19 at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco and ends October 27 at The Roxy in her hometown of Los Angeles.
Donita Sparks is also set for another first, this time in 2008 when her debut solo release Transmiticate is scheduled for January 22, 2008. The record is filled with dance rock and dark pop gems that sees Donita moving solidly into interesting new territories. Long time fans will get their rock on as well with the twin guitar attack and the catchy, melodic, booty shaking sounds.
Confirmed live dates with The Donnas include:
9/19 The Great American Music Hall, San Francisco, CA
9/21 The Hawthorne Theater, Portland, OR
9/22 Chop Suey, Seattle, WA

10/20 The Brickhouse, Phoenix, AZ
10/27 The Roxy, Los Angeles, CA
This fall solo tour kicks off an extensive end-of-year schedule for Sparks and her band, that includes Lady Dee Plakas (also of L7) on drums, Dat T. Ngo on bass and Alan the Italian Santalesa along with Sid Brown on guitar. Shortly after arriving home from The Donnas tour, Sparks will be off to rock Brazil with her own headlining shows. It will be her first appearance in the country since 1994, where L7 experienced mucho successo. Speaking of Brazil, Donita created a mash-up of Brazilian rock sensations CSS (vs. L7) in response to the band doing a lively cover of the Sparks penned classic “Pretend We’re Dead.” The mash-up “Pretend We’re Alala” is getting radio airplay and is on CSS’s MySpace page www.myspace.com/css . In fact, Donita joined CSS onstage at their recent sold out show in Los Angeles, treating the crowd to a duet version of “Pretend We’re Dead” with Lovefoxx. Apparently “Pretend We’re Dead” is alive and well!
Following the Brazilian tour, Sparks and The Stellar Moments are confirmed for more tour dates, including a show with Social Distortion at the House of Blues on December 23 in Los Angeles. Then comes the release of her new album in January 2008 and a European Tour.
ABOUT DONITA SPARKS
Donita Sparks co-founded the highly influential, heavy, riff-oriented band L7 in 1985. L7 released six studio albums, one live CD, and one greatest hits on legendary U.S. labels Epitaph, Sub Pop, and Slash/Reprise, as well as their own label, Wax Tadpole. Since their recording career began in 1987, L7 have spawned underground and mainstream hits, such as: “Shove”, “Pretend We’re Dead”, “Shitlist”, “Andres”, and “Drama”. When not rocking out live or writing songs for her first solo project, Donita writes for the popular, politically progressive blog Firedoglake.com with her weekly column “The Spin I’m In.”

10/20 Brooklyn, NY @ Southpaw *
10/22 Washington, DC @ The Rock and Roll Hotel *
10/23 Columbus, OH @ The Basement *
*All Dates with Kevin Devine and Andy Hull.
Praise for At Home With
At Home With Owen, a 38-minute exercise in beauty that once again proves Kinsella is one of America's finest singer-songwriters. -The Onion A.V. Club
With his fourth solo effort, Kinsella shelves two of Owen's defining traits-bedroom recording values; beautiful post-folk juxtaposed with ugly lyrics about girls-and makes his masterpiece in the process.
-Alternative Press
Owen produces a lovely if doleful form of folk rock. -Washington Post
If nothing else, the Kinsella brothers know how to write a song. At Home With finds Mike continuing to balance its delicate foundation with elements of more straightforward pop... [but] At Home With is still at its best when the goods are damaged. -Resonance
Kinsella sounds far more self-assured than previously, and his songwriting (melodically as well as lyrically) and guitar playing elevate At Home With far above any of his earlier work. -Under The Radar

JESU Announces "Lifeline" EP * Massive World Tour!
Dripping heavy, cascading walls of sound, U.K. shoegazing trio Jesu -- helmed by Justin Broadrick, with Diarmuid Dalton and Ted Parsons in tow -- churn out static-edged mini-epics – SPIN
Broadrick’s music comes over the stereo like its own weather pattern, an experience with more layers and detail than even 10 or 20 listens can trace out.” – PITCHFORK
The world's leading expert on distorting the living s**t out of an electric guitar. Heavier and more screwed-up than depleted uranium. Winner. – THE BBC
Count your lucky stars, fans of Justin Broadrick and Jesu. The man responsible for some of the most beautifully despondent, morose, funereal, and other synonyms for “sad” and “depressed” music of our generation has staved off suicide for yet another handful of months to grace us with a collection of melodically mournful and emotionally elegiac songs that could quite possibly give those already living on the edge a reason to find the highest viaduct in town. – DECIBEL
Arguably the most influential single figure in extreme music over the last two decades. – POPMATTERS
Could we possibly be serious? Four brand new jams from our favorite pot-addled limey genius, Justin K. Broadrick? One of which features a guest shot from ex-Swans vocalist Jarboe? Yeah, we’re totally serious—and wait ’til you hear our man’s latest clutch of dream rock gems. Like his previous EP, Silver, Lifeline is upper-atmosphere music that works just as well (if not better) down here on earth. We’d tell you more, but we’re too busy floating through the cirrus over Kangchenjunga right now, looking down at all those little specks that are really houses and cars and people and marveling at how insignificant we all are in the grand scheme of things and how the universe will continue long after we’ve all shed our mortal coils or whatever and - uh - shit - we just lost our train of thought there for a second. But look: It’s fucking Jesu, so we figure it’s already on everyone’s Top 10 list this year. For those of you keeping score, that actually makes TWO Jesu records on everyone’s Top 10 list this year. Which only leaves eight other spots for all the other awesome we put out.
Alright, it’s official: JESU conquered 2007. I know the year ain’t over; we can just tell. Critically lauded second full length selling like hot cakes? Yes. A massively successful spring tour of the U.S. with ISIS and Zozobra? Yes. And wait, three more EPs since?!? Yes. Lifeline is the third, and it contains four of JESU’s most refined tracks of shoegazed metallic abandon, one of which features Swans diva of doom, Jarboe. JESU’s records are so consistently dope that fans will know what to expect with Lifeline: serene ambient beauty, heavy bombast, and that totally signature melancholy and optimism that courses through each release. Of course, if you’ve been paying any attention then you also know that no JESU release treads old ground – it always sounds fresh -- something Senor Broadrick can’t help but do, I guess, since he also founded Godflesh, Napalm Death, Techno Animal, etc. ad infinitum!
This EP will mark JESU’s return to our shores for their first headlining tour of the US. Expect that triumphant return to also feature a variety of great bands including other HH artists that Justin is hand-picking to provide support.

VHS OR BETA Co-Headline US Tour With Moving Units
THIRD FULL-LENGTH BRING ON THE COMETS SET OUT NOW
CATCH THEIR PERFORMANCE ON LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O’BRIEN ON OCTOBER 1ST!
CAN'T BELIEVE A SINGLE WORD" ALREADY ADDED AT RADIO STATIONS NATIONWIDE: Q101 /CHICAGO, INDIE 103/L.A., WWCD/COLUMBUS , WFNX/BOSTON, KWOD/SACRAMENTO, KFOG SAN FRANCISCO, KBZT SAN DIEGO, WHTG/MONMOUTH (ATLANTIC CITY)
"Bring On The Comets" Apocalyptic Dance Rock Anthem of the Year - Blender.com
"...promises a long night of energetic aural sex." - Black Book
“One of the best records of the year…” Exoduster.com
When Louisville, Kentucky natives VHS OR BETA released their Astralwerks debut Night On Fire in 2004 they were quickly heralded as one of rock’s “Best New Bands” by Blender, and “Artist To Watch” by Rolling Stone, achieved break out sales internationally and topped the CMJ College charts. VHS OR BETA’s famously taut instrumental interplay proved even more explosive after the band completed numerous tours supporting the likes of The Faint, Scissor Sisters, and Doves, as well as triumphant festival dates spanning Lollapalooza to Reading to Belgium’s Pukkelpop.
Formed in 1997, VHS OR BETA initially began via an obsession with the indie noise-rock of the late-‘90s era (Arab On Radar, Sonic Youth). Soon enough, the band, always on the lookout for vital sounds, began mutating its sonics towards an electronic/organic groove hybrid. VHS OR BETA’s breakthrough 2002 release, the Le Funk e.p., proved equally ahead of its time—Daft Punk-style French disco-house channeled via a hungry live-instrument attack. Meanwhile, their acclaimed next effort, the 2004 album Night On Fire, vividly infused club rhythms with ‘80s-style.
VHS OR BETA’s creative core Craig Pfunder (guitar/vocals), Mark Palgy (bass) and Mark Guidry (drums) makes its boldest move yet with their brand new album, Bring On The Comets. Recorded with up-and-coming producer Brandon Mason (Secret Machines, David Bowie) in Asheville, NC and Nashville, TN their third full-length studio album provides heartfelt anthems with a newfound discovery of musical freedom, a shedding of previous expectation and boundary, and an undeniable attention to the craft of songwriting.
To celebrate the release of this album, VHS OR BETA is proud to announce an exclusive co-headlining North American tour with Moving Units! These fantastic VHS OR BETA live dates will not only include a brand new guitar player, Mike Mcgill but will feature Mark Guidry on a full live drum kit in addition to his electronic rhythm equipment.

16 FRAMES TRACK "WHERE IT ENDS" TO AIR TONIGHT ON MTV'S HIT SHOW "THE HILLS!"
L.A. rock act, 16 Frames, founded by frontman and singer/ songwriter Steve Sulikowski are quickly becoming a favorite of the MTV hit series “The Hills.” Their song “Where It Ends” will be used in an episode that airs tonight, Monday, September 24th at 10pm. "Let's Not Pretend," another compelling song from their debut album, was also featured on the MTV show last month.
About 16 Frames:
Their self-titled debut album, produced by Matt Serletic is slated for release February 26, 2008. Although their album is coming at the top of the year, songs from their forthcoming album have already enjoyed national exposure with play on TV shows such as "Men in Trees" and "The Hills." 16 Frames recently completed tour dates opening for Sheryl Crow, Crowded House and Pete Yorn.
About the Episode of The Hills 9/24/07 @ 10pm/MTV:
Lauren is shocked to learn that Jason has a girlfriend, but Jason has a bigger surprise up his sleeve. Heidi finds out Spencer hasn't told his parents about their wedding plans, and Whitney gets in trouble for partying with a rock band before a Teen Vogue photo shoot.

Keller Williams and The WMD'S on tour
Keller Williams has been called guitar’s mad-scientist, a one-man-band for the new millennium and dozens of other clever sobriquets dreamed up by fans and music journalists trying to get a handle on his uplifting and ever-shifting style of music. Williams is considered by some but not by himself, to be a master of the acoustic guitar, known for his ability to solo over layers of spontaneously created loops. He is a generous performer who plays down to earth acoustic music that defies any effort to find a convenient pigeonhole. Keller Williams’ new album DREAM, which features a DREAM team of guest musicians, has inspired the usually one-man-band to hit the road with, you guessed it, a DREAM live band.
Keller Williams and The WMD’S features Keith Moseley on bass (The String Cheese Incident), Gibb Droll on guitar (Marc Broussard), and Jeff Sipe on drums (Aquarium Rescue Unit, Trey Anastasio, Susan Tedeschi, Phil Lesh). The WMD’S debuted at select festival performances this past summer, including an epic and electrifying Bonnaroo show. The WMD’S will headline indoor venues this fall.

Before The WMD’S hit the road, Keller will bring his solo show to Japan this October for the first time since his Fuji Rock Festival debut in 2004. He’ll stop in Nagoya, Osaka and Kanazawa for the first time, before wrapping up the tour in Tokyo.
When singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Keller Williams scratched out a long and ambitious wish list of artists he’d like to collaborate with in the studio, he told himself “It can’t hurt to dream.” With the recent release of his ninth studio album, aptly titled DREAM, Keller’s dream comes true. For the album the usually one-man-band is backed by Béla Fleck, Bobby Read, Bob Weir, Charlie Hunter, Derrek Phillips, Fareed Haque, Fleming McWilliams, Jeff Sipe, John Molo, John Scofield, Martin Sexton, Michael Franti, Modereko, Samir Chatterjee, Sanjay Mishra, Steve Kimock, The String Cheese Incident, and Victor Wooten. DREAM features 16 tracks of unblemished material: a cataract of electrifying musical alliances, and endless entertainment thanks to Keller’s rapturous innovations and his earthy, barefoot-in-the-park presentation.
Keller Williams
Keller Williams has been refining his unique kind of performance art for almost 15 years, logging over 100 gigs annually, and he’s a productive recording artist as well. His calling card? -a creative combination of talent and technology. Known, of course, for his astonishing one-man show, Keller Williams surrounds himself with instruments and pedals and slides from one to the next. While his songs are rooted in Williams’ warm voice and spirited acoustic guitar, Keller gives them depth and breadth via looping and delay. Keller essentially accompanies himself, looping several instruments, and filling up an entire room with lush layers of sound … just one man and a humongous imagination.

Keith Moseley (bass)
As a member of the hugely successful independent band The String Cheese Incident for over 14 years, Keith Moseley has a seemingly endless list of musical experience. He has played many of the world’s most renowned venues and music festivals, such as Fuji Rock, Newport, Bonnaroo, and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, to name just a few. He has shared the stage with a diverse roster of fellow musicians, including Bruce Hornsby, The Flaming Lips, Perry Ferrell, Steve Winwood, Jack Johnson, Angelique Kidjo and many, many others. He has recorded with famed producers, Malcolm Burns (Bob Dylan, Chris Whitely, Emmylou Harris, Daniel Lanois) and Steve Berlin (Los Lobos, Tragically Hip). Moseley plays Lakland bass, Modulus bass, Elixir strings, and Ampeg amplifiers.

Gibb Droll (guitar)
Quiet and softspoken, the introverted Gibb Droll is transformed into someone quite different once you put a guitar into his hands. The pure unscripted performances that have shaped his career have given him mainstream success without compromising his trademark sound and independent status. Attend one of his concerts, and it is clear to see why those who have had an opportunity to be touched by him are never again the same. Just as Droll was impressed upon as a young boy by Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix, so too do audiences bask in his talent.

Jeff Sipe (drums)
Jeff Sipe has performed with numerous ensembles that have encompassed all musical genres. He seems to have a naturally organic control over his drum kit. His career blossomed when he founded the band Aquarium Rescue Unit with Col. Bruce Hampton and Jimmy Herring in the early nineties. The music was an extremely dynamic fusion which made good use of the players' skills. Jeff has also played and toured with Leftover Salmon, Phil Lesh, Trey Anastasio, Susan Tedeschi and many other incredible bands and musicians.
