"…combines a David Bowie-like theatricality with a sprawling prog groove." – SPIN

“ …a heart slowing way down, big exhales and even bigger inhales.” – FADER

“…big, sexy, hypnotic sound…” – My Old Kentucky Blog

“The group's dynamic arrangements and instrumentation provide the perfect bed for singer-songwriter Kyle Wilson's shape-shifting voice…” – NPR

Following their critically acclaimed 2011 debut LP, Glowing Mouth, Brooklyn indie rock quartet Milagres have just announced the release of their sophomore full-length album, Violent Light, on February 25th, 2014 via Kill Rock Stars in the US (2/24 via Memphis Industries in the UK). Channeling influences as diverse as David Bowie, Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush, Violent Light finds the band exploring the connection between ancient humanity & the advanced science of the present day.

Milagres fill Violent Light with richness and delicacy. Psych-pop album cut “Jeweled Cave” immediately bursts open with bouncing synths and a driving bassline setting the stage for Kyle Wilson’s irresistible theatric vocals. Whereas“The Letterbomb” is a fuzzy, funked-up track that launches into a flurry of driving guitars, experiments using vocals as percussion and, at times, walks the tightrope between intimacy and violence that is present throughout the album.“The Letterbomb” MP3 premiered with SPIN, and is available to post & share HERE.

Milagres consists of Kyle Wilson, Fraser McCulloch, Chris Brazee & Paul Payabyab. The follow up to their critically acclaimed 2011 debut album, Milagres latest effort was produced by Fraser McCulloch and applies their unique writing style & self reflection in the modern world. Violent Light introduces a darker, harder sound for the group, ranging across styles from dream pop to funky classic rock.

Stay tuned for more news from Milagres coming soon!
