Still from "Collider" video
Jon Hopkins has shared a stunning new video directed by Tom Haines for new single "Collider" - the dark, beating heart of his Mercury Prize-nominated fourth studio album Immunity.
WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.
"Jon's music has a transportive quality, which can be blissful and expansive, but can also be internal, and more aggressive, and Collider is at this end of the spectrum. We wanted to create an internal journey, which was unflinching, singular and claustrophobic and at the same time liberating. The video is like a voodoo ceremony, where the lead character dances herself into frenzy, and through the dance gains access to a parallel dimension; it's her unfurling thoughts, her dislocated mind, and hints at something more apocalyptic - an end game for her and us." - Tom Haines
Hopkins finished his biggest headlining North American tour this past weekend with sold out shows at the Independent in San Francisco and Echoplex in Los Angeles. Listen to his recent performance on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" in which he performed new versions of Immunity singles "Open Eye Signal," "Breathe This Air," and "Collider."
"Collider - Remixes," featuring remixes from Pangaea, Karenn and Objekt will be available on 12" and digitally on Feb 25, 2014. Additionally, an Extended Edition of Immunity featuring videos and remixes will be available exclusively through iTunes on December 9th, 2013 and is available to pre-order now.

"a remarkably visceral, sensual, confident electronic record that stays absorbing from beginning to end."
-- Pitchfork [Best New Music]
"Hopkins retains a gift for tear-jerking melody that takes an expressway to the listener's emotions. . . in Hopkins' living, breathing world of sound, beauty and beats are always free to commingle in ways that move, in every sense of the word."
-- NPR Music [FIRST LISTEN]
"Jon Hopkins' album Immunity is a warm, vital album that features moments of driving techno interspersed with soft piano stabs and ambient interludes. It's overwhelmingly pretty, but also just sort of overwhelming. . . it's a really great album with lots of layers and tunnels and gorgeous moments to burrow into . . . " -- The FADER
"striking, stirringly beautiful techno numbers. Full-bodied and emotional, without a hint of clinical remove, they're unlike most of what Mr. Hopkins has done to date." -- The New York Times
