French-American post-punk outfit DTCV, formed in Los Angeles in 2012 by Guylaine Vivarat (ex-Useless Keys), James Greer (ex-Guided By Voices), and Chris Dunn, are pleased as punch-drunk boxers to announce that the entirety of their 2012 output will be reissued on one CD by Mock Records in January 2014. The compilation will be called The Early Year and comprises most of the EPs Very Fallen World and Basket of Masks, as well as the LP However Strange. Both EPs were self-released, and the LP has been previously available only from Burger Records on cassette and online.

On the heels of their newly-released ambitious, sprawling double album Hilarious Heaven (Xemu Records/Burger Records, out 1/21/14) The Early Year documents the band's rapid progression from practitioners of insanely catchy stripped-down indiepop to diamond-sharp fuzzbox-stomping rawk masters (who can also produce wistful piano-based French pop songs on occasion). Notorious for their fast, furious, and often drunken live sets, DTCV expects to spend most of 2014 on tour.

Los Angeles-based Mock Records is home to The Spyrals, Spaceships, Jesus Sons, Cab 20 and several other premium quality rock and roll bands.
