Download the new B-Side from The Parson Red Heads Premiered on MAGNET!

The Parson Red Heads Share Their Unreleased Track "State Lines" Premiered Yesterday on MAGNET Magazine!

I'm so glad that I get to share this new single with you! This has easily become my favorite track from the Portland quartet, just listen to the breakdown, it's absolutely stunning and definitely has the Yo La Tengo influence that singer and songwriter Evan Way references below. And as MAGNET so accurately puts it, “State Lines,” melds ‘90s lo-fi guitars with a ‘60s pop/rock feel."

Excluded from the final cut of  their recent full-length release "Orb Weaver" (out now on Fiesta Red Records) you can now download and share the new single "State Lines" at the link above. It's definitely one of their most upbeat and classic rock influenced tracks with feel-good multi-part harmonies singing lines like: "All the Jukebox children hanging out at the bars so they don't have to think so hard."

As guitarist and singer Evan Way told MAGNET:

“‘State Lines’ is a song that has been around for years—I wrote it in L.A., and we’ve been playing it live off and on for probably five years or so. Just never had the proper album to include it on. It was definitely the right fit for Orb Weaver—it’s an upbeat rock song, with a Who-ish sort of main guitar riff, with a long jam outro built around a drone on D—definitely goes into some Yo La Tengo territory at the end. Sadly, we couldn’t include it on the record, it being a long song. The album already has a few five-minute-plus songs on it, so we decided to keep it off. But it’s a long time staple of our live show, so hopefully some people will be excited to finally have a properly recorded version of it.”

Download or stream the new single above, and hit reply if you'd like to hear the full record from The Parson Red Heads!

"In such a cynical, manipulative, 150 characters, superficial world, The Parson Red Heads stand for something better, something deeper. They manage to wear it on their sleeves without the slightest hint of preciousness or pretension. It's all real. And I love them for that." When You Motor Away

"...the band focused on capturing the spontaneous elements of their performances, allowing the songs to develop on their own and giving potential new fans an insight into what a live show might be like." Paste
