SIX FINGER SATELLITE: New album out Oct. 20th

Of all times, now is not the time to be musically submissive. That is why now is the time for Providence, RI’s Six Finger Satellite to return and devour all weak imitators. Six Finger Satellite have navigated the murky industry waters with a healthy embrace of adventure - and an even healthier disregard to mainstream flow - since the beginning of the 1990s. Naturally, they cemented a sound that many are vainly and often painfully trying to emulate to this day. Theirs is music grounded deep in bedrock but looking to the spheres, lifting spirits and discovering unchartered territories along the way. Prefiguring many figures in today’s electro-post-punk-hodgepodge scene. The current musical landscape would be immeasurably different if not for Six Finger Satellite.

After an 8-year hiatus in the outer orbits of a white noise galaxy, Six Finger Satellite resurfaced to Earth in 2009, issuing a new set of old unexplored horizons titled "Half Control" on Load Records and the upcoming "A Good Year for Hardness" on the brand new Providence label Anchor Brain. With this new record it is obvious that Six Finger Satellite is back and here to stay. This year’s model is like past years’ models; a little older perhaps, a lot wiser certainly. Recent retinkering has core deviants J. Ryan and Rick Pelletier joined by like-minded psycho souls Dan St. Jacques and Brian Dufresne on bass and drums respectively, giving this orbiter a madness and a magic that breaks with any preconceived notions yet can be instantly earmarked as “The 6FS Sound”.

Six Finger Satellite will release "A Good Year for Hardness" with Anchor Brain on October 20, 2009. Anchor Brain is a new record label whose goal is to utilize fresh marketing ideas to bring international attention to the many amazing and unique bands originating in Providence, Rhode Island. Plans include replacing obsolete compact discs with limited-edition silkscreened posters that come complete with a download code for the record. The label will also release limited-edition silk screened LPs, subscription-only unreleased tracks, and will have worldwide digital distribution.

"A Good Year for Hardness" is a no bullshit freak rock journey into the past, present, and future. It is timeless, elusive and in your everyday boring face. So bury your heads if you don’t want to get hit with the Six Finger Satellite stick.
