CHEAP GIRLS and FAILURES' UNION Announce New Albums and U.S. Tour!

Gainesville, FL – Today Paper + Plastick Records is proud to announce its next two releases – the sophomore album from Lansing, Michigan’s CHEAP GIRLS and the P+P debut of Buffalo, New York’s FAILURES’ UNION, out October 6th and October 20th, respectively. To celebrate the release, both bands will be hitting the road together this Fall on a five-week tour, which includes dates at Gainesville’s The Fest 8. See all tour dates below.

Cheap Girls recorded their sophomore album earlier this year with Rick Johnson (of Bomb The Music Industry), who manned the boards for the trio’s acclaimed debut, Find Me A Drink Home. My Roaring 20’s finds Cheap Girls building on their jangly, 90’s indie-rock a-la Evan Dando sound, which ABSOLUTEPUNK says is “a breath of fresh air and a welcome listen to those who loved the raw and sloppy tendencies of 90’s indie and alternative.” Paper + Plastick recently re-issued the band’s out-of-print debut in July on limited edition 12” white vinyl and blue and white swirled vinyl, while the new release will be a 12” vinyl and includes a CD version of the album. Fans eager to hear new tunes can visit the band’s MySpace, where they have posted “Hey Hey I’m Worn Out” and “Ft Lauderdale.” Before hitting the road with their labelmates, Cheap Girls are currently touring with Grabass Charlestons and will be playing hometown album release shows in October.

Though separated by over 100 miles of water that is Lake Erie, Buffalo’s Failures’ Union is cut from a similar cloth as their tourmates. Both bands have previously hit the road together, and even released a split 7” in 2008. Failures’ Union make their Paper + Plastick debut with the band’s sophomore full-length, In What Way, which sonically harkens back to the hey-day of rock when bands like Dinosaur Jr. and Guided By Voices reigned supreme. Though this will only be the trio’s fourth run across the US since 2007, it is impressive that the members have been able to take time off from their other musical commitments with bands such as Lemuria, The Exit Strategy, and The Grail. Failures’ Union have a new song up on their MySpace as well, “The Fall Man.”
