Singer-Songwriter MEIKO hits the road with Jewel

Los Angeles, CA – Singer-songwriter MEIKO is hitting the road with Jewel for a string of dates set to begin October 27th at the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore, MD.

The tour sees Meiko returning to the road shortly after her recent headlining tour, U.S. dates with Eric Hutchinson and UK shows with Joshua Radin. Over the course of the past year, Meiko has shared stages with the likes of Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Brett Dennen, and Rachael Yamagata, to name but a few. She’s been touring in support of her self-titled debut (Lucky Ear/MySpace/DGC), which entered the iTunes’ Singer-Songwriter Album Chart at No. 1, and lead single "Boys With Girlfriends," which skyrocketed to the top spot on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter Singles Chart. The track’s video was directed by The Brothers Nee (A Fine Frenzy). The video for her latest single, “Under My Bed,” can be viewed on Meiko’s MySpace page: www.myspace.com/meiko.

Meiko recently recorded a stunning version of “All Of Me” for HIS WAY, OUR WAY, iTunes’ exclusive collection of Frank Sinatra covers and originals. She’s also featured on the new Crystal Method album, Divided By Light, singing lead on a track she co-wrote entitled “Falling Hard.”

Her debut album, praised by the Washington Times for its "batch of catchy, acoustic-based tunes about love and heartache," includes songs like "Hawaii," which Spin magazine hailed as a "Song You Need To Download Now," "Reasons to Love You", which was featured in an episode of the award-winning TV series "Grey's Anatomy," and “Said And Done” which aired during episodes of “One Tree Hill” and “The Cleaner.”

She’s been featured alongside Jack Johnson and Sara Bareilles in a USA Today cover story about the “new wave of troubadours.” Then she was given a spotlight of her own on the cover of the Los Angeles Times Calendar section. That was followed by stunning performances of lead single “Boys With Girlfriends” on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and the season premiere of “The Bonnie Hunt Show.” After that came a nationwide promotion with iTUNES and Starbucks, in which she was one of a select group of artists highlighted on a free sampler card distributed throughout 2,100 Starbucks shops nationwide. She also performed on “Last Call with Carson Daly.”
