Hell-raising Nashville rockers American Bang will hit the road with Juliette Lewis for a fall tour that begins September 17th in Boston. Before kicking off the tour, the band is making a featured appearance at Nashville’s opening concert for "Live on the Green," a new free fall concert series, on September 3rd. They will also perform at this year’s Voodoo Fest in New Orleans on Halloween night.
American Bang, which is singer-guitarist Jaren Johnston, guitarist Ben Brown, bassist Kelby Ray, and drummer Neil Mason, will be previewing material from their upcoming debut album for Reprise Records, which is due out next year. The album was produced by Bob Rock and recorded at Nashville’s famous Blackbird Studio as well as Rock’s home studio in Maui.
Known for "hitting the road hard" and "sharing their high-energy, loose-lipped and taut-limbed neo-Southern rock," according to The Tennessean, American Bang have quickly built a solid grass-roots following. They’ve landed gigs on the national festival circuit, appearing at Lollapalooza, Coachella, Bonnaroo, Summerfest, Langerado, SXSW, Monolith, and the Austin City Limits Festival and have toured with such artists as The Pretenders, ZZ Top, and The Donnas.
Formed in Nashville in 2005, American Bang released an EP, Move to the Music, on Reprise Records in 2007, as well as a self-released album, I Shot The King, in 2006. The track "All Night Long," from Move to the Music, will be featured in promos teasing Fox’s Sunday night line-up for The Family Guy and The Simpsons this fall.
