Los Angeles, CA (March 20, 2008) – From the smoldering embers of ‘80s rebellion rock, White Lion rises again with Return of the Pride, their first studio album in sixteen years.
Fronted by original lead singer/songwriter Mike Tramp, this new collection of songs was created by a superior line-up of seasoned musicians and boasts the traditional sound that made White Lion a staple of the hard rock scene. Produced by Tramp, and bassist Claus Langeskov, Return of the Pride highlights the band’s seductive charisma and will see them take hold of old and new fans alike.
Return of the Pride is simultaneously a party, and a nostalgic shot through the heart. Tracks such as ‘Set Me Free’ and ‘Gonna Do It My Way’ are classic fist-pumping rock anthems, and the musical gem ‘Never Let You Go’ evokes a haunting, raw emotion that brings listeners back to the era of the big rock ballad.
Inspired performances of previous hits, plus the new collection of songs from Return of the Pride, lay the groundwork for a successful string of tour dates, both in the US and across parts of Europe. The tour begins April 17 in Las Vegas and April 18 in Los Angeles at the House of Blues with RATT. The tour continues through Mexico and South America, and lands in Europe on June 8th at Sin City in Wales. White Lion’s famed sound will resonate through cities such as London, Paris, Oslo, Madrid, Barcelona, and Bologna, ending in Copenhagen on August 16th. Additional US tour markets will be announced soon.
Over the past few years, Mike Tramp’s White Lion have toured the world and appeared at such iconic hard-rock festivals as Rocklahoma and Gods of Metal.
Current band members, alongside Mike Tramp (vocals) and Claus Langeskov (bass), include Jamie Law on guitar, Troy Patrick Farrell on drums, and Henning Wanner on keyboards.
Rock virtuoso Mike Tramp formed White Lion in NYC, in 1983, and saw his band rise to prominence throughout the ‘80’s and into the early 90’s. During that time, the band achieved double-platinum status for their hit single, ‘When the Children Cry,’ and were responsible for the hit single’s ‘Tell Me’ and ‘Broken Heart’, two tunes that became the anthem of the MTV generation.
