THE B-52S LAUNCH SPECIAL CLUB TOUR IN APRIL TO CELEBRATE FIRST STUDIO ALBUM IN 16 YEARS

EARLY BUZZ CALLS 'FUNPLEX' (OUT 3/25)
LOUD, SEXY ROCK AND ROLL AND QUINTESSENTIAL B-52S

The B-52s have announced a special tour of select clubs and theaters to celebrate the release of their much-anticipated new album, 'Funplex' (3/25, Astralwerks). The "Worlds Greatest Party Band," pioneers in the fusion of dance, punk and vintage rock, will keep the party going on for fans around the world beginning with these 13 kick-off dates.

Recorded in their native Athens, GA with producer Steve Osbourne (New Order, Doves), 'Funplex' is prime B-52's: propulsive guitar hooks, driving drums, and the B-52's unmistakable vocal style. Here's the early word from critics:

"Tin roof, not rusty! This might be their first album since 1992, but damn if they haven't lost a dance step."
- Stereogum.com, (2.28.08)

"A bristling and surprisingly raw bit of daft punk."
- Magnet, (Winter 2008)

"['Funplex'] sounds exactly like a B-52s album should- rockin' surf guitar riffs, girl group harmonies, entendre-packed lyrics ... and an arch call to sexed-up revelry.... Listen closely and you can hear that the technology is all-contemporary."
-MOJO, March 2008

"An updated take on their quirky, signature New Wave sound."
-AOL Spinner Blog, 2.14.08

"Jet-powered party rock."
-Parade, 2.17.08
