Southeast Erotic Art Conference celebrates the art of BDSM November 7-9, 2008

February is the traditional month of love, so now’s the time to draw a big heart on your calendar around November 7-9, 2008. Because that’s the weekend that Jacksonville, Florida’s Southeast Erotic Art Conference (SEAC) is going to touch your heart, with an innovative, unique weekend focused on both the BDSM lifestyle and art—our art, in all of its forms.

The philosophy behind SEAC is simple: Art isn’t limited to or defined only by traditional mediums like photography, painting or poetry, though SEAC 2008 will feature plenty of that. We aim to stretch the boundaries of how the leather tribe, as well as mainstream culture, defines art, because we believe that the way our community lives, loves and plays is its own kind of art—one that deserves to be recognized, nurtured and honored.

But talk is cheap, so here are the broad strokes about SEAC 2008.

Workshops: A three-fold path to creativity
Our 2008 workshops will go a long way toward illuminating just how intimately BDSM and art are connected. We’re featuring workshops facilitated by artists of all kinds, designed to inform and expand your skills in traditional, BDSM and personal artistic mediums:
· Expert guidance on how to develop your artistic talents in a variety of mediums, from painting/drawing to dancing to writing.
· You’ll want to beat yourself if you miss the workshops in this track, which will focus on BDSM play. Our instructions will take on everything from throwing whips with grace and precision, to the beauty reflected in the shine of a perfectly-blacked pair of boots, to how to access your creativity in dishing out or taking the inspired, diabolical torments that get your juices flowing.
· If your passion lies in creating connections and building healthy, fulfilling relationships with your self, others and community, look no further than our relationship track, where you’ll have a chance to hear and share ideas, experience and wisdom.

Drawn to eroticism: SEAC 2008 art show
Whether you’re a practitioner, collector or voyeur, you won’t want to miss our 2008 art show. We’ll be showcasing breathtaking erotic images, including paintings, sculpture, photography and mixed media, as well as fiction and poetry. Maybe you’ll want to exhibit your work, or enter our art and/or writing competitions to win some great prizes—more details coming soon!

The art of entertainment
Great art both informs and entertains, so here’s a quick sketch of the titillating amusements you’ll enjoy at SEAC 2008:
· Bring all your appetites to our cocktail party and nibble on yummy hors d’ oeuvres served off human trays. This appetizer will get your palate ready for the weekend’s kaleidoscope of sights, sounds and tastes!
· We’ve set the stage for an array of visual delights throughout the weekend, with shows featuring bondage, belly/burlesque dancing, (human) puppies and fetish fashions. Keep an eye out for The Fashion Fairy, who will be handing out approval citations for first-class attire throughout the weekend!
· Don’t miss our cabaret show, which will feature original skits, performances and a few other surprises we’ll be revealing soon.
· Our nightly play parties will offer variety and choice, with male, female and pansexual spaces. (And if you need new toys, our vendor fair will have plenty of wicked, novel items!)
· Our Black and Blue Ball will have just the right mix of music and atmosphere to make you feel like dancing the night away.

Are you getting the picture? We hope you’re all whipped up to join us at SEAC 2008 as we play, laugh, ponder, collaborate and expand the way we define ourselves and our art. There’s plenty of time to register (at the low, low price of $100.00), so take a while to contemplate the eye-candy you’ll be seeing, fantasize about who you might meet and anticipate an odyssey of discovery that will titillate your senses, stoke your imagination and rouse your creativity. We’ll be adding details about SEAC 2008 over the next few months, so check our Web site often!
