MINER’S DEBUT ALBUM INTO THE MORNINGCOMING FEBRUARY 25
TOURING WEST COAST IN MARCH
Rising Los Angeles-based band Miner is set to release their debut album Into the Morning on February 25. To celebrate the release, the band will embark on a West Coast tour in March including performances with Cayucas and Typhoon; please see complete dates below. The band has been performing for growing audiences including stops at the High Sierra Music Festival, Joshua Tree Music Festival, Lost Sierra Festival and Noisepop, as well as a sold-out residency at the Bootleg Bar in Los Angeles. The shows have garnered praise including Buzzbands LA declaring, “Miner has indeed found something golden,” and the Sacramento News & Review praising Miner’s “…bright airy choruses with bluegrass style vocal harmonies.” Furthermore, the band recently made it to the final three for VH1’s December Artist of the Month and appeared on an episode of the CW’s “Hart of Dixie.” The video for the band’s track “Hey Love” can be streamed and shared on YouTube at http://youtu.be/YW_bqOJtHVM.
Miner is a Los Angeles/Silverlake folk-rock group formed in 2012 from the creative nervous breakdown of songwriter Justin Miner. After taking an extended break from music to travel through the Central and South American jungles and the California redwoods, Justin returned to Los Angeles rejuvenated. He built a small studio in his bedroom and recruited his wife Kate Miner and brother Jeremy Miner to help him record “Hey Love,” the band’s first song. Miner uploaded the track to SoundCloud and within a few days it reached number two on the Hype Machine single charts garnering praise from blogs including Popstache who raved, “Let this song about love fill your ears and heart, while stomping your feet to its irresistible rhythm,” and Earmilk, who declared that Miner “radiates a sense of warmth and sincerity as they convey their sun-soaked, love-filled messages.”
In addition to Justin (vocals and guitar), Kate (vocals, mandolin, ukulele and harmonica) and Jeremy (banjo and lead guitar), the current Miner lineup has expanded to include Justin’s cousin Amanda Koosed (keys) and longtime friends Justin Krook (bass) and Dave Schechtman (drums and percussion).
