New York-bred Alt R&B newcomer BOY/FRIEND unleashes a brand new video for his latest single “Adam,” produced by his go-to music partner MNTN and nightlife’s world-famous Mel DeBarge. The video was directed by Johan Chiriboga and shot on location at TribeCa Grand Hotel during BPMLWRLVL, an infamous pop-up dance party in NYC’s underground club scene.

The FADER exclusively premiered the video calling “Adam” a “bouncy New Jersey club track-meets-pop song.”

Even though BOY/FRIEND (born Shan Poo) has been on the scene for a short time, he is already drawing comparisons to The Dream, Frank Ocean and The Weeknd. He released his 8-track debut Leather Weather produced primarily by MNTN in April 2013 on Betteryet Recordings. The album received high praises from SPIN, SSENSE, The FADER, FACT, Interview Magazine and OkayFuture. The FADER proclaimed Leather Weather is the “best free R&B album of the year,” while Interview Magazine described it as a “futuristic mix of sexy crooning and addictive hooks” and FACT called it “hazy R&B that goes down easy.” Also, the world-renowned online retailer SSENSE enlisted BOY/FRIEND for a custom mix in their monthly guest mixtape feature.
