About OverDoz.

OverDoz. is a Hip-Hop/R&B group from Los Angeles, California. The group is known for their unique, fun, and honest lyrical content, as well as their energetic conceptual live shows and music videos. Their lyrics speak on subjects from drugs, life lessons, growing pains, and celebrating the complexity and beauty of women and relationships. Their creative melodies and concepts have moved over crowds all over the world with comparisons to Outkast, Funkadelic and The Digital Underground. Joon's unorthodox fashion sense and rapping style, P's laid back approach, Kent's unique singing voice, and Creamie's hilarious skits makes OverDoz. an unmatched entity in the world of music.

Kent Jamz, Cream, P and Joon became close childhood friends shortly after Kent moved to South Central Los Angeles from Atlanta at the age of six. While Joon juggled school and being a kid rapper in the group Biv 10 Pee-Wee All Stars, the rest of the group bonded through sports. They excelled in football and baseball which eventually lead them all to playing at the college level. After going their separate ways in high school the group later formed in 2008 when Kent and P reunited in a music studio they were both recording at. The two then decided to form the group OverDoz. They soon started recording their first mixtape Bowties and Rosaries, in which the title was based off their two religious beliefs (Kent a Muslim and P, Catholic). At the end of the recording process Joon decided to come back to LA after playing football at Arizona State University and rekindle his love for rap by joining the group. Cream the youngest of the four was always around the crew influencing the musical content and song subjects with his hilarious every day conversations. After a few amateur night performances at local comedy clubs and the recording of a few classic skits it was only fitting to make him the fourth member of the group.

OverDoz. went on to release three well received mix tapes, Bowties and Rosaries (2008), Nova(2010) and Live For, Die For (2011). Live For, Die For launched OverDoz. onto the budding Los Angeles music scene and is considered a classic by most fans. With majority of the production by in house producers THC and features from Kendrick Lamar, Casey Veggies and Iman Omari, the album showcased a versatile sound that showed the limitless range that OverDoz. has. They also released music videos for several tracks including "Pasadena" which went viral gaining a quarter million views within one month. The video showcased OverDoz. energetic style and unique personalities that left fans wanting more. Soon after, they sold out The Roxy in Hollywood back to back when they gave the fans "The Rise of The Dest" show. The conceptual concert featured the group performing new music and fan favorites with a stage designed to resemble an alley equipped with a smoke filled jumbo dumpster that the group hopped in a out of for costume changes and to pull out background dancers that wow'ed the crowd.

After releasing another virally successful music video for their song "Lauren London" which got the attention of Pharrell and other tastemakers, the crew performed at The Bamboozle Music Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey as well as The Lollapalooza Music Festival in Chicago. With the anticipation of their new album building daily, the group hopes to take over the industry with a sound that has yet to be heard and a stage show that has yet to be matched. DEST is an word/acronym that OverDoz. uses in almost every sentence and has been tattooed on the bodies of their fans. One of its millions of meanings is "Don't Ever Stop Trying". At the rate OverDoz. is going they won't stop trying anytime soon.
