& was produced by acclaimed producer Joey Waronker (Atoms for Peace, Beck, Ultraista). Of working with Waronker, band member Andrew Tolman (drums) explains, “Joey brought an added level of knowledge and experience to the table that was invaluable. He's a percussion and production wizard and all his ideas gelled perfectly with our vision.” Brandon Robbins (vocals, guitar) adds, “It happened really fast, no looking back. That’s why we are here I guess, it’s all in the lions mane, ya know?” The EP will serve as an introduction to The Moth & The Flame, who are working on their debut full-length with Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Jónsi), to be released next year.

In addition to Tolman and Robbins, The Moth & The Flame is rounded out by Mark Garbett (keys, vocals). Since forming in Provo, Utah in 2011, the band has become local favorites—playing dozens of sold out shows in and around their hometown before relocating to LA earlier this year. They are known for their distinctive vocals, compelling live performances featuring anthropomorphic sculptures of their own creation, and for transforming venues into moonscapes with floating lanterns and starry nights. The Moth & The Flame have made appearances at various festivals worldwide including The Great Escape, SXSW and Midpoint Music Festival.
