Adult Swim and Kia Motors America (KMA) have partnered
together once again to bring music fans some hot new jamz (we use jamz
unicronically!) for the summer season, in the third consecutive - and
biggest and bestest - free downloadable music program to date. The 2012 Adult
Swim Singles Program sponsored by the award-winning Kia Soul urban
passenger vehicle will kick off on June 18 and will include a wide range
of all new free music from a diverse lineup of respected artists. This year's
program has been expanded to include 12 consecutive weeks (that's all
summer!) with a new exclusive track debuting every Monday. The 2012 Adult
Swim Singles Program will be featured at AdultSwim.com/singles from June 18
- September 9 and will include all-new, never-before-released tracks from
these featured artists:
Week 1 (June 18) - Unknown Mortal Orchestra
Week 2 (June 25) - The Hives
Week 3 (July 2) - Wye Oak
Week 4 (July 9) - Absu
Week 5 (July 16) - The Field
Week 6 (July 23) - Flying Lotus
Week 7 (July 30) - Gauntlet Hair
Week 8 (August 6) - Wavves
Week 9 (August 13) - Com Truise
Week 10 (August 20) - Yamantaka//Sonic Titan
Week 11 (August 27) - Elite Gymnastics
Week 12 (September 3) - Artist To Be Announced
Along with all-new songs, three pieces of original video
content will be featured on the Kia Soul-branded custom website, including
exclusive interviews from The Hives and Flying Lotus, as well as a music video
for Wavves, all produced by Adult Swim.
"Since the launch of the Soul in 2009 music from many
different genres and time periods has played an important role in many of
our marketing activities and has helped to raise our profile and make Kia one
of the fastest-growing car companies in the U.S.," said Michael
Sprague, vice president, marketing & communications, KMA.
"Partnering with Adult Swim for the third year was a natural fit for us
and helps Kia engage with music fans who are young and young-at-heart in
yet another fun and appealing way."
"We're really excited to once again be partnering with
Kia Motors for year three of our singles program," said Jason
DeMarco, vice president of strategic marketing and promotions for Cartoon
Network and Adult Swim. "This year we took a big step and decided to
have an entire summer of free music - 12 straight weeks of free music from
some of our favorite artists! Come back every week for new free music, and
hopefully you'll love your summer as much as we do!"
In addition to the 12 sponsored weeks of music, Adult Swim
will offer fans a bonus track and corresponding exclusive interview from
Death Grips that will complete the program during the week of September 10
and ease music lovers out of the summer season. For good measure, the network
will also add an exclusive music video from Absu. The program will be
promoted via on-air and online spots that drive to the website when the first
track is live on June 18, and will continue throughout the duration of the
program as new tracks and content is added. Specific track information
from each artist will be announced in the coming weeks.
