Liars – who will release their fourth album "Liars" on Mute August 28, 2007, will open for Interpol on their US tour this autumn. "We can't wait to tour with Interpol," says front man Angus Andrew, "They're all really nice guys we share a lot in common with... We're super excited to play with them in venues like Madison Square Garden and The Forum in Los Angeles, as well as some states we've never been to like Florida and Idaho. Most of all, we hope it'll be a really great night out for fans of both bands."

The first single from "Liars," "Plaster Casts of Everything" will be available digitally and on 7" vinyl August 14, 2007. The download version includes the B-sides "Volcano Police" and "Mimic The Hurricano" and the vinyl version of the single includes the B-side "Volcano Police." The video for "Plaster Casts of Everything" is directed by Patrick Daughters, who has directed videos for Beck, Feist ,The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kings of Leon, The Shins, Bright Eyes and more. It was shot on location in Los Angeles and features a cameo by The Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O. Check out the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-r8HWri41s

"Liars" – recorded on the heels of 2006’s "Drum's Not Dead" somewhere between LA and Berlin – marks another bold transition for Angus Andrew, Aaron Hemphill and Julian Gross. For the new album Liars have foregone theory for a more practical approach, one based on traditional song structures and instrument usage. The full-length album will be available on CD, white vinyl and download.

“I’d never felt like a songwriter ‘til this album,” explains Angus. “If you told me last year Liars would release a record like this, I would have laughed. If you said I’d be playing guitar solos, I’d have called you a liar. We never know what we’re making ‘til it’s made… this time I’m a bit shocked.”
