Family Radio predicted the Rapture would happen on May 21st at 6 pm. The rapture didn't happen, but futuristic science-themed Bay Area band The Phenomenauts took the opportunity to stage an enormous prank in front of the group's headquarters, complete with blow-up dolls and a dance party!
Known for their creative on-stage theatrics at shows, The Phenomenauts blend science and rock and roll, making them the perfect band to take on the Rapture. Not only did they carefully orchestrate this prank, they also took the opportunity to create a short which details their efforts and that you can view online HERE. The video, dubbed "Operation Rapture" treats viewers to a behind-the-scenes look at the stunt which was featured on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and appeared in 4,855 newspapers across the country!
Family Radio has since declared the world would end on October 21st. Stay tuned to find out what The Phenomenauts have in store for this next opportunity to make fun of this series of globally-syndicated radio programs.
