On July 20th, Pictureplane and Teengirl Fantasy will head out on a co-headlining East Coast tour with Gatekeeper as support.
Pictureplane will be touring in support of Thee Physical, out July 19th on Lovepump United. Thee Physical is a celebration of human touch in a digital world. The album is also unquestionably Pictureplane's best and most assured record to date: his vocals are confident and unnervingly sexy, the instrumentation is at once both purely electronic and surprisingly human. Pictureplane has managed to make electronic music deeply emotive--a synthesis of the human and the machine both in lyrics and sound. The stakes have been raved.
Showcasing material from their critically lauded debut album 7AM , released last year on True Panther Sounds/Merok, Teengirl Fantasy duo tap into a vein of electronic music quite unlike any other - a densely cluttered, richly colourful stream of consciousness which may often dart in many directions at once. It pays homage to everything from classic rave music, 90's piano house, shoegaze, and even vintage hip hop divas, before assimilating it into one seamless whole. Catch these dates when you can; the band will be heading into a studio shortly after to work on brand new material, and who knows what they’ve got up their sleeves when they emerge...
