RECORD RELEASE TOUR KICKS OFF TONIGHT AT NEW YORK CITY'S MERCURY LOUNGE

The Postelles' self-titled debut album – produced by the band and The Strokes' Albert Hammond, Jr. – is released today by +1 Records. It is available in digital, CD and Vinyl formats. The vinyl edition is available exclusively at Insound through July 6th, and then will be in other retailers. Fans can get a free download of the band's new single, '123 Stop' via Rolling Stone.

The Postelles embark on a Record Release Tour tonight with the first of two shows at the Mercury Lounge in their hometown of New York City. See below for the full listing of shows, including some new shows that were just added.

The Postelles – comprising Daniel Balk (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), David Dargahi (vocals/lead guitar), John Speyer (bass) and Billy Cadden (percussion) – began playing shows around Manhattan when they were seniors in high school and have toured like crazy ever since. In addition to performing at major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, All Points West, and Iceland Airwaves, The Postelles have toured with the likes of Kings of Leon, Vampire Weekend, Interpol, The Walkmen, The Kills, Richard Ashcroft, The Wombats, Hockey, and Free Energy. They performed at The Who Tribute Concert at New York City's Carnegie Hall and even recently supported the legendary Chuck Berry.

Rolling Stone has described the band as "sounding like the wound-up early hours of what will be a long Saturday night on the town." SPIN said: "[The Postelles] serve up a hooked-at-the-gills, head-bobbing rock'n'roll groove" while Q Magazine extolled their "sheer charm and melodies that hook their way into your synapses and refuse to let go" and Entertainment Weekly praised the band's "sunny garage-bop sound." Further press highlights include praise from Vanity Fair, USA Today, New York Magazine, NYLON, Interview, Paper, BlackBook, the Huffington Post, NME, Billboard, Paste, Filter, Alternative Press, AOL Spinner, NY Post, NY Daily News, SF Weekly, Chicago Tribune, and much more.

In addition to the extensive media coverage, over the past few weeks The Postelles have begun to pick up momentum at radio, consistently charting in the Top 5 on the KKBB Tracker Specialty Singles and Album Charts. They have received early spins on Rodney on the ROQ and Jonesy's Jukebox on KROQ/Los Angeles, LIVE 105/San Francisco, KNDD/Seattle, KROX/Austin, KXRK/ Salt Lake City, WEQX/Albany, WZNE/Rochester and WKRL/Syracuse. While their College Add date is not until the week of June 14th, KCRW/Santa Monica has already begun to spin first single '123 Stop' on Morning Becomes Eclectic and recently premiered the song along with a feature here.

The Postelles are currently featured on the Alternative page of iTunes, on Myspace's New Music Tuesdays Playlist, and they will be on E! News later this week. A live performance will air on Indie NYC: Powered By Baeblemusic this Friday night, June 10th, at 1am ET on MSG Network, Madison Square Garden's television network. They will be featured as the eMusic Daily Download this Saturday, June 11th, and have upcoming performances with Last.FM Discover, WGN News, and on Fox & Friends Fox's Morning News.

The band has made videos for several of the album's songs, including 'White Night' which entered rotation at mtvU, MTV2 and Music Choice and was named "Video of the Day" by Fuse and Paper, 'Hold On,' which New York Magazine's "Vulture" recently premiered and which was featured by Vanity Fair, and 'Sleep on the Dance Floor,' which was recently premiered via NYLON. The Postelles will have a Music Video shortly for their single '123 Stop.'

Recent licenses include the trailer for How Do You Know (starring Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson and Jack Nicholson), Fox's Raising Hope and the CW's Vampire Diaries and 90210.

At the conclusion of their upcoming Record Release Tour, they will be playing Escape To New York Festival on August 5th (along with Patti Smith, Edward Sharpe, Best Coast, The Vaccines) and a special benefit show for Music Unites as part of The Surf Lodge Summer Music Series in Montauk. Music Unites is a non-profit organization dedicated to funding sustainable music education programs in public schools in underserved communities and all benefits from this show will go to raising funding for this program.
