Doug Marvin and Annie Hart are kind of like indie rock royalty: Doug is the drummer and vocalist of NYC indie poppers Dirty on Purpose, and Annie is the front woman for synth-pop lady troupe Au Revoir Simone. Together, they create melodic pop ballads with Pursesnatchers, Doug's ambitious home recording project. - RCRD LBL

Pursesnatchers began as a home-recording project of Doug Marvin, formerly of Dirty on Purpose, with help from his wife Annie Hart, of Au Revoir Simone. The songs are upbeat and poppy, with lots of analog fuzz left in for realness' sake. Think Yo la Tengo doing America covers. The band eventually expanded to include old friends Jared Barron and Harold Liu, and the quartet began playing out and around Brooklyn. Pursesnatchers went into the studio during the summer of 2010 to record their first album as a full band, A Pattern Language, to be released through the Uninhabitable Mansion art collective.
