The New Enemy Announce Upcoming "Evolve To Destroy" EP Out August 19th * Digital Proceeds To Benefit Music 4 Cancer

"Toronto's greatest hope for retrospective hardcore."- Exclaim Magazine

"Metalish-hardcore mix of Sick Of It All, Verbal Abuse, and Tool."- Maximum Rock & Roll

"A classic hardcore punk version of Rancid." - DecoyMusic.com

"Equal parts Avail, Kid Dynamite and Black Flag." - RedefineMag.com

Since forming in 2008, Toronto hardcore punks The New Enemy have played countless shows in Canada and the United States, sharing stages with numerous punk legends, along with appearances at NXNE, CBGB Festival, Pouzza Fest and more. They've also received exceptionally positive reviews for their full-length album and two EPs. 2014 finds The New Enemy releasing their third EP, "Evolve To Destroy," with production help from Steve Rizun (Comeback Kid, The Flatliners).

The New Enemy's sound has become progressively more cohesive with each release. On "Evolve To Destroy," the band has melded their influences of hardcore, skate punk and gruff pop-punk.together to create arguably their heaviest record to date, while still remaining catchy and accessible. The lyrical content on the new EP is relateable to the average person that's just trying to keep their head above water - workplace malaise, internet disillusionment and the feeling that all aspects of our life, including our environment and well-being, are commodities to be bought and sold.

Putting their money where their mouth is and staying true to their socio/political lyrics, The New Enemy donates all digital download revenues to charity. For the new EP, they've teamed up with Music 4 Cancer to help raise funds for cancer research. The entire EP (along with a bonus 88 Fingers Louie cover) can be downloaded from their Bandcamp page. Limited edition 7" vinyl is also available for purchase.

* In addition to the worldwide physical digital release of "Evolve To Destroy," songs from the new EP will also be featured in the August 21st Paper + Plastick Records' monthly newsletter compilation available for free to subscribers.
