BASTARD OF THE SKIES & GRIMPEN MIRE: Two New Psalms From Crushing Split Sullying The Airwaves Of Decibel

Today, Decibel Magazine celebrates the soul-crushing split offering from two of the most volatile volume peddlers of the UK's underground doom/sludge/noise community: BASTARD OF THE SKIESand GRIMPEN MIRE.

Released via Manchester-based Future Noise Recordings, the seven-track split offers up new frothy psalms of creeping dread from both acts, all recorded by BASTARD OF THE SKIES guitarist/vocalist Matt Richardson at his own Full Stack Studio and mastered by James Plotkin (OLD, Khanate, Khlyst).

BASTARD OF THE SKIES monopolizes Side A, with four cavernous, bass-heavy odes of gnarly fist-clenching, noise rock making their twenty allotted minutes feel like twenty-years of ugliness, corruption and anger as the unstoppable mega-riffs pile to the sky. Side B is enforced by GRIMPEN MIRE's sonic pollution, and their twenty-minutes are spent with but three tunes, each hurling the listener down into a deeper, darker pit of disease, hopelessness and despair. Champions The Sludgelord, "This is an outstanding release showcasing two of the UK's finest and heaviest bands from the doom/sludge metal scene... a must have release. Spellbinding and creepy as hell." Adds Blog Of Putrefaction, "This split displays some excellent songwriting from two veterans of the UK doom scene, and if syrupy riffage is your thing then this is definitely worth your time, good stuff!" Yell Magazine agrees, "This is dark doom and savage sludge for anyone feeling languid and heavy this summer."

Turn up and feel the rumble of BASTARD OF THE SKIES' "Old Vessels" and GRIMPEN MIRE's "Fragments Of Forgotten Craft," now decimating the Deciblog at THIS LOCATION.

And if you missed it, you can check out BOTS' A-side opener "Yarn," alongside GRIMPEN MIRE's B-side lead-off, "The Hollow Wreck," still wreaking havoc at Cvlt Nation at THIS LOCATION.
The split LP is currently available via Future Noise Recordings in a limited run of 300 copies on black vinyl, each including a download card. Order yours today HERE.
