Band Debuts Music Video For “Spread Too Thin” On MTV
So-Cal alternative rockers The Dirty
Heads have announced the initial run for their co-headlining summer
tour with Matisyahu. The band will be spreading their signature
rock/reggae/hip-hop sound that that is synonymous with its good vibes on this
40 plus city US jaunt beginning in Washington, DC on July 8th. Fans
can visit the band’s website and Facebook page
for ticket information and the latest updates on additional tour dates. Tickets
go on sale beginning May 11th. The band’s long-awaited new album, Cabin
By The Sea will be globally released on Five Seven Music on June
19th and can be described as the “ultimate summer
soundtrack.” The album features collaborations with fellow tour mate
Matisyahu as well as Del the Funky Homosapien, KyMani Marley and Rome.
“Summer’s here and we are starting it off the best possible
way I can imagine: by going on a cruise with 311. When we get home from the
cruise our album Cabin By The Sea will be released,” said
Heads front man Jared “Dirty J” Watson. “We will be heading out on
our biggest summer tour yet with Matisyahu, who is also featured on the album.
This summer's gonna be hot, fun, insane. We’re planning tail-gate parties
before the shows and after show parties at night. It’s just going to be one big
party. Hope to see you there - all love!”
The Dirty Heads recently partnered with MTV to premiere the
music video for the new album’s lead single “Spread Too Thin.” To watch the
video, please click http://youtu.be/q3JyVmx3ftM.
In just 4 weeks, the single is already top 15 on the alternative radio charts
and follows 2010’s “Lay Me Down,” which holds the record for most weeks at #1
on the Billboard alternative chart.
The band performed at KROQ’s sold out 20th Annual
Weenie Roast y Fiesta in Los Angeles, CA on Cinco de Mayo, which also featured
Coldplay, Incubus, Group Love and others.
Formed in 2003 out of Huntington Beach, CA, The Dirty Heads
combine an intriguing mix of hip-hop, reggae and alternative rock with a sunny
California swagger. The band released their debut album, Any Port
In A Storm in September of 2008, which features the hit track “Lay Me
Down,” a song that spent eleven weeks at #1 on the Billboard alternative chart,
more than any single that year by any other artist. It is a certified
gold single. Rolling Stone touted the ‘Heads as one of the
year’s best new bands and they were among the first bands featured on YouTube's
Raw Session.
