Daps Records announce NXNE showcase with Phèdre, Odonis Odonis and more!

Daps Records will be throwing their first NXNE showcase on June 15 at Sneaky Dees. The night will feature Daps’ darlings Phèdre and Odonis Odonis, accompanied by new Daps family artists Beta Frontiers, Cartoons, Hellaluya, Hussy and Times Neue Roman. Doors open at 7:00pm and last call is at 4:00am (19+).

Toronto’s Daps Records began as a DIY effort between Daniel Lee and April Aliermo of Hooded Fang. The two soon recruited the help of artist manager Ian Chai (Rice & Cheese Management) and collectively transformed Daps into the full service independent label that it is today. Daps will see 2012 releases from Odonis Odonis, Hooded Fang, Beta Frontiers, Times Neue Roman, L Con, Cartoons and Hellaluya.

CARTOONS

Toronto noise rock nerds from the depths of daytime tv boredom. Scratchy guitars and driving rhythms backed by oddball structure. VINYL RIOT: http://snd.sc/z2voZM

HELLALUYA

Self dubbed "grind pop," Alex Low and his crew throw out tired punk cliches and create a unique mess of blast beats, samples and psychedelic guitar noise... like a modern mixtape. They play songs that sound like this: http://bit.ly/dZfe2B
HUSSY

Sludge punks delight... with loud screeches and hisses, this trio knows how to bogey. Hussy loves waffles - witness the depths of their passion: http://bit.ly/JpDMzb
