ETHAN FRECKLETON: "THE CRAZY THINGS WE SAY"

Ethan Freckleton has been called "a rockier Roy Orbison" and "the next alternative rock star" by his songwriting peers (Better Than Ezra frontman Kevin Griffin and Ambrosia producer David Pack, respectively). They are well-deserved accolades, but would mean nothing if the proof wasn't in the proverbial pudding.

The Seattle, WA-based artist is gearing up for the release of his debut full-length The Crazy Things We Say, and ready to show the world that he has earned that praise and talented enough to surely receive more acclaim.

The nine-song collection—produced and engineered by Johnny Sangster, a fellow Seattleite who has worked with everyone from Mudhoney to pre-teen popsters Smoosh—is the perfect showcase for Ethan's gruff yet earnest vocalizing, razor sharp melodies, and music that continues the tradition of American rock n' roll, melding a heavy influence of blues and country music with the louder and heavier guitar sounds of the grunge era that he grew up with.

The album is also a testament to the hard work that Ethan has put into learning the craft of songwriting from every conceivable angle. In 2009, he left Seattle for eight weeks, traveling across the U.S. on what he has dubbed a "songwriting sojourn."

Along the way, he hosted an interview series on his blog, getting to known different artists from around the country to get their perspective on the craft and business of songwriting. And, of course, Ethan was able to do a lot of performing along the way, from stripped down acoustic jams filmed for his blog to a show at the historic Ritz Theater in Tiffin, Ohio where he wowed a crowd of over 600 fans.

That journey has helped inform The Crazy Things We Say, as each song is a well-honed squall of rock energy that gives Ethan a chance to take on straight-up rockers ("Free To Be The Monkey"), a hearty mixture of rockabilly and rocksteady rhythms ("The Song Ain't Over"), and even a Tom Petty classic ("Mary Jane's Last Dance").

His fellow musicians have already caught on to what a rare and sincere talent we have in Ethan Freckleton. Don't wait another minute to join them in appreciating and encouraging him as he brings The Crazy Things We Say to the world at large.
