"Neinman's sweet but skillful vocals backed by
electro-pop beats provide substance to the dance genre, well-suited for the
club goer with a conscience or the broken-hearted casual dubstep
listener." - Interview Magazine
Ducky, aka Morgan Neiman, has a producer’s instinct and a powerful voice. Making music since she was 13 years old, she has played alongside Japanther, Ninjasonik, Roxy Cottontail and many more. The Whether EP out February 21, fearlessly explores the sinister side. Ducky’s ethereal vocals play over a twisting give-and-take of synths on the EP’s first single, “Like Rain”. Download the “Like Rain” MP3 where it premiered withInterview Magazine today or HERE. Feel free to post and share this MP3! You can also tune in to watch Ducky performing live on AOL’s “The Engadget Show” tonight at 6pm.
Throughout The Whether EP, Ducky fearlessly marries grinding beats with dark mantras of loss and resentment, her vocals sometimes feral, sometimes sirenlike. Tracks like “Overdose” and “I Want to Die” remain understated and chilling. “Mouths Like Sidewinder Missles,” naturally closes the EP with building drums and ghostly redemptive melody ending unresolved.
Ducky’s songwriting and ethereal production boldly stand strong with equal parts virtuosity and pluck. She recently released the “Killing Time” MP3 produced by Dingo Dog . Check out the companion “Killing Time” video directed by Waverly Mandel and stay tuned for the “Like Rain” video coming soon!
