UK BAND DRY THE RIVER LAND ON THE BBC SOUND OF 2012 LIST

DATES SCHEDULED FOR LOS ANGELES, NEW YORK AND SAN FRANCISCO IN EARLY 2012 FOLLOWED BY SXSW PERFORMANCES

DEBUT ALBUM SHALLOW BED TO BE RELEASED SPRING 2012

UK band Dry the River has announced they will be returning to the United States in 2012. They will be joining Alabama Shakes for two dates, January 25th in Los Angeles and January 26th in San Francisco, followed by their own gigs at Brooklyn’s Glasslands on January 30th and NYC’s Mercury Lounge on January 31st and a run at SXSW in March.

Having just released their debut EP in the UK, “Weights and Measures”, on November 14th (available in the US at all digital providers on January 10th), Dry the River has been enjoying an incredible run of critical success in their native UK. They just landed on the BBC Sound of 2012 list along with 14 other rising stars. This comes a mere week after hitting the #1 spot on the NME Chart and having been named one of GQ’s “100 Best Things in the World Right Now” and Q Magazine’s “Faces of 2012.”

Critics have been praising Dry the River and “Weights & Measures” with Q Magazine calling it, “Breathtaking stuff”, GQ raving that “…it’s a masterpiece in the making, packed with catchy riffs and overlaid with lyrical intelligence.” And the Sunday Times simply stating, “They have their own voice – and use it beautifully.”

Dry the River will be releasing their debut album Shallow Bed in spring 2012 on RCA Records. The album is produced by Peter Katis who has worked with Interpol and The National.
