Northern Spy label-mates Hubble and Diamond Terrifier (aka the solo projects of Zs members Ben Greenberg and Sam Hillmer respectively) were featured in today's edition of The NY Times, as writer / editor Ben Ratliff attended and covered their appearance together this past Tuesday at popular avant-garde New York venue Zebulon.

In addition, both artists have announced upcoming New York appearances set to take place before the end of the year.

Hubble Live:
12/28 @ The Stone in New York (Luaka Bop Curates The Stone (8pm)

"Hubble makes music about small phrases and layered rhythms and tiny melodic variations: adding or bending some notes in a chain. (You can hear it on a strong new album, “Hubble Drums,” released last month by Northern Spy.) Mr. Greenberg sounds as though he’s starting from the usual 20th-century source material, Terry Riley in particular, and seeing where his own skill and nervous system can take it." - The NY Times

Diamond Terrifier Live:
12/28 @ The Clocktower Gallery in New York w/ David Linton (7pm)
12/30 @ Lasala in Brooklyn w/ Dan Friel and Fables (10pm)

"...he turned a saxophone tone into the sound of chimes or cracking ice, and, later, bagpipes or an animal roar. And after about 25 clean and questing minutes, he was done." - The NY Times

Hubble's debut full-length album "Hubble Drums" is out now via Northern Spy Records. Diamond Terrifier's debut "Kill The Self That Wants To Kill Your Self" is due September 2012 also on Northern Spy.
