EL TEN ELEVEN WRAPS UP EXCITING 2011 WITH YEAR-END GIGS, INSTRUMENTAL DUO TO ROAD TEST

NEW MATERIAL ON WINTER TOUR

Los Angeles-based instrumental duo El Ten Eleven will close out the year with back to back shows this month: they will headlineDecember 30 at the Constellation Room in Santa Ana, CA followed by a New Year's Eve blowout at Soda Bar in San Diego. Fresh out of the studio, guitarist/bassist/loop virtuoso Kristian Dunn and drummer Tim Fogarty will debut a handful of newly recorded songs scheduled for release next year. In January the guys will set off for a winter tour that will wind through Northern California, Washington, Vancouver, Montana and Colorado. Anthemic indie rockers Races will be main support on the entire tour.

Ever the consummate road warriors, El Ten Eleven have spent a majority of the last 18 months trekking across the country in support of their fourth LP, It's Still Like A Secret, released last year on their own Fake Record Label. With a mesmerizing live show and a DIY ethos to get in the van and play as much as possible, the band has grown their impressive and devoted fanbase exponentially. Over their eight year career they have logged hundreds of thousands of miles on the odometer and this year surpassed the 500 shows mark when they added another 80 gigs to the tally. In addition to multiple national headlining tours they also played several festivals in both the U.S. and Canada and most recently they supported New Order/Joy Division bassist Peter Hook at his LA appearances.

El Ten Eleven has forged a unique sound that mixes atmospheric soundscapes with pulsing electro-rock. Over four albums they've demonstrated that instrumental music doesn't have to be bloated, pretentious or sleepy. "They drive somewhere between a roughed-up version of Sigur Rós and Ratatat you wouldn't dare bring home to your parents," exclaimed Filter while Los Angeles Magazine declared: "The act is a wonder to behold live, but on the group's fourth album, the layered sound is just as hypnotic."

El Ten Eleven's live show is truly a technical marvel to witness as the duo recreate their pounding landscapes without the help of a single computer or sequencer. Dunn works a double-neck bass/guitar (sometimes playing both simultaneously with different hands) and a fretless bass and loops himself live while he dances on an arsenal of pedals. Fogarty pounds his drum kit and electronic drum pads and also occasionally loops himself. "As each layer upon layer is set, El Ten Eleven's songs coalesce into head nodding, cog-spinning music machines," LA Weekly exclaimed about the musicians' method. Whether you geek out to the band's jaw dropping skills, bliss out to the soaring instrumentals, or dance to their electro-influenced jams, El Ten Eleven is a band not be missed live.

El Ten Eleven's music is highly sought after and has been heavily used in the realms of television, film and advertising. Of significant note are the highly acclaimed trilogy of design documentaries  "Helvetica, "Objectified" and "Urbanized," which is currently screening worldwide. These films, directed and produced by Gary Hustwit, were scored by Dunn and prominently feature El Ten Eleven's music. "Urbanized" will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on February 14, 2012 and is streaming in HD atUrbanizedfilm.com.
