Everest will warm stages for some greats this fall. The LA boys have been handpicked to be the steady opening guest for Neil Young's fall tour.

Everest will open for Neil dates with Death Cab for Cutie from October 14 through November 5 on the West Coast and East Coast with Wilco from November 29 through the tour's conclusion at Madison Square Garden on December 15th.

This weekend the band will perform at the Outside Lands Festival on August 23rd in San Francisco and will wind their way around the Northwest with a string of tour dates.

Everest have recently returned to the states after festival and club dates across Europe sharing stages for My Morning Jacket, The Frames and Neil Young

Like the sonically similar Jayhawks, Wilco and Lampchop, there is something immensely likeable about Everest's sound. It combines Neil Young guitars (1971 vintage), laconic, soft and soulful harmonies and Paul McCartney bass lines. You can believe in Everest's songs - even Neil Young and Devendra Banhart have included them in their myspace top 10s.

Los Angeles Times:
"As for Ghost Notes, it's an album of hard facts and soft landings, tethered to darker edges of American roots rock, yet, not unlike its players, possessing an understated but perseverant optimism."

Filter Mag - "It's the sound of friends punctuating each other's contributions, lighting each other's fires and placing flowers in the vase of the proverbial windowsill."

All Music Guide - "If you distilled Dark Side of the Moon, Pet Sounds, and Revolver into a glass and poured it over the California surf, it would probably sound like this... Classic sounds make for a classic album, which is precisely what Ghost Notes is."

OC Weekly:
"LA trio Everest channeled the haunting side of Ryan Adams and the groovy pop of Alexi Murdoch..."

Wonka Vision: 5 out of 5
"Everest are part of an emerging scene of artists who value ambiance when making late afternoon, front-porch rock—the songs on Ghost Notes having the warmth of a classic rock album recorded in the '70s using vintage equipment."

Hear Ya Music:
"Ghost Notes is a great listen from start to finish"

The Tripwire - This is real musicianship with a real grasp of the past and present that probably comes from their enviable pedigree (which includes Earlimart, Sebadoh, Folk Implosion, John Vanderslice, and the Watson Twins). Their experience, musicianship and live show come from a gourmand's understanding of the Americana canon and an honest reverence for the acts they emulate (not imitate). http://www.thetripwire.com/news/2008/6/6/live-everest-mercury-lounge-nyc

Billboard.com - Comprised of five singer/songwriters, the members of Los Angeles indie alt-country band Everest boast some impressive pedigrees, having played with Earlimart, Sebadoh, the Folk Implosion, Slydell, Mike Stinson, Alaska!, John Vanderslice, and the Watson Twins.

LA Times - "Local act Everest has drawn notice with its members' long resumes (Sebadoh, John Vanderslice) and sun-kissed acoustic sound."

All Music Guide - "If you distilled Dark Side of the Moon, Pet Sounds, and Revolver into a glass and poured it over the California surf, it would probably sound like this... Classic sounds make for a classic album, which is precisely what Ghost Notes is."

Illinois Entertainer - "The quintet sports an impressive résumé with members citing stints in Sebadoh, Earlimart, Folk Implosion, John Vanderslice, and the Watson Twins. Not a supergroup per se, but a blue-light special away from a satisfaction-guaranteed-or-you'll-get-your-money-back sticker. Led by Russell Pollard, Everest's subdued debut, Ghost Notes, succinctly encapsulates lazy-Sunday evenings spent on the front porch in a creaky rocking chair. Recorded at Elliot Smith's New Monkey Studios, the album bears the stamp of the late singer-songwriter in the easygoing beauty.."

Never Learned to Swim:
"Natural is a good word to describe Everest's debut, Ghost Notes. In fact, it's the perfect word to describe it..."

Everest is by Russell Pollard (vocals, guitar, drums), J. Soda (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Rob Douglas (bass, vocals), and Joel Graves (guitar, keyboards, vocals) and Derek Brown (drums).
