Bad Veins to release debut album July 21st on Dangerbird Records
"Every once in a while a band crosses our path that simply blows us the f*** away. This was the case with Bad Veins, a duo from Cincinnati that is making some of the best indie pop around." --Tripwire
"The best band I've seen at CMJ thus far: Bad Veins. Remember their name! I love situations like this, where you stumble into a grimy basement and end up seeing a super-fantastic show.”
-- USA TODAY (Pop Candy)
Bad Veins is the brain child of two talented musicians, Benjamin Davis and Sebastien Schultz . Originally crossing paths at shows in their hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio the two quickly banded together and formed the band in 2006. Davis, aiming for a solo project was struck by Schultz's blistering talent as a drummer and the two quickly started collaborating. Adding their "third band member" Irene completed the equation. Irene, an antique reel-to-reel player that handles 50-70 extra tracks provided Davis and Schultz the missing piece needed to bring their huge orchestrations to life. Having only played a handful of shows before Pitchfork touted them as "the band to see during CMJ 2007", this band's live show exceeded everyone's lofty expectations.Their self titled release is a combination of indie rock and underground/garage sentiment that represents their most solid work yet.
