The Love X Nowhere Releases Debut Full-Length LP High Score Blackout

MP3: "The Diz"

Bill Picture of the San Francisco Chronicle probably said it best: "The term 'indie' doesn't do justice to The Love X Nowhere's lush blend of pretty and trippy. The [San Francisco] group laces together its shoe-gazer tendencies and obvious taste for Zeppelin-era prog-rock with oblique, psychedelic flourishes reminiscent of Blonde Redhead."

The Love X Nowhere [say it with us: "The Love TIMES Nowhere"] makes San Francentric music that drops like sparks from the MUNI lines on a rainy night.

The back-to-birth dynamic of brothers Brett and Michael Chulada brings a layer of sensitivity and depth to which their younger fans aspire and contemporaries relate. This bedding surrounds the harmony and melody driven songs of writing team Gabriel Leis and Brett Chulada, two singer / guitarists with distinct lyrical paths, yet both clearly inspired by the magic of collaboration.

The Love X Nowhere's new LP, High Score Blackout is diverse and mature. With a nod to the past and their eyes on the future, TLXN pushes forward a new version of indie-psych and post-rock, abandoning the restraint usually associated with those genres. Cocteau-heavy guitars dripping with the sway of chorus and delay; analog synth as at home with The Cars as Meddle-era Pink Floyd; a rhythm section adept in thick, explosive grooves and awe-inspiring dynamics; and a saucerful of psychedelia that'd make most jambands blush.

"High Score Blackout has blithely landed a welcome spot in my heart. This is both a record and band not to be missed!" ~The Box Factory

"This is definitely an album worth listening from beginning to end as it is the only way to get the entire experience, and if you like rock with retro and modern influences this is a must have." ~Cosmos Gaming

"What TLXN specialize in is a big, rich sound that evokes the elegant, suave vastness of mid-70s Roxy Music, or early Simple Minds. If you like melody, these guys are for you." ~The Village Voice

"It may be too easy to declare that this is a talented, psychedelia-inspired SF rock group for the 21st century, but that's the truth." ~NASCENT Magazine

"TLXN's new LP is definitely an impressive and enjoyable accomplishment." ~Beautiful Buzz
