Having recently inked a record deal with Dr. Luke’s Sony Music Entertainment label Kemosabe Records, Swedish MC/singer Elliphantis releasing her first official single in the States, and has premiered her new video for the track exclusively on Idolator.com today.

‘Music Is Life’ features Jamaican roots & reggae artist Ras Fraser Jr and was recorded in both Sweden and Jamaica earlier this year. The track is a celebration of the two respective cultures and the signature sounds that derive from them; perfectly blending soulful reggae with 90’s inspired pop beats and synths. Watch Elliphant and Ras talk about this summer jam in the studio and on the set making the video of ‘Music Is Life’ here.

Ellinor Olovsdotter aka Elliphant who recently completed a North American tour with Twin Shadow, first gained international acclaim back in April 2012 when she released her debut single 'Tekkno Scene' on Swedish independent label Record Company TEN. Sounding not unlike the twisted illegitimate offspring of MIA and Diplo, her unapologetic and in-your-face Jamaican influenced dancehall pop soon prompted the world to sit up, pay attention and see what else this Swedish solo artist had up her sleeve.

Fast-forward a little over one year, and the rambunctious performer, lyricist and vocalist now has a handful of critically acclaimed songs under her belt, including the dreamy 'Down On Life' and infectious 'Make It Juicy'. Elliphant is currently working on her debut album and plans to return to North America later this year for more tour dates. ‘Music Is Life’ is available on iTunes and Spotify from today.

Fans can also tune in today at 12:45PM EST and listen to an interview with Elliphant on Virgin Mobile USA. Tune in and stream here.
