Ukrainian black metal heathens KHORS recently unleashed a video for The Last Leaves. Shot live at the Metal Heads’ Mission Festival this past August in Crimea, Ukraine, the track comes off the band’s Wisdom Of Centuries full-length issued via Candlelight Records’ Cult Series earlier this Fall.
What Reviewers are Saying about KHORS:
“Wisdom Of Centuries is full of charred vocals, tremolo-picked minor chords, and drums comfortably volleying between Celtic Frost strides and traditional black metal blasts. It’s the quiet moments…that are the most evocative: while many of their peers are content with downshifting into folk or unintentionally—‘80s keyboard symphonies, KHORS drape warm layers of synths over their frosty dervish. The pair of instrumentals in the middle of the album work as a fine palate-cleanser, relying on Wagnerian brass and Deftones-esque drumming in equal parts to relieve and build tension. It’s not the most innovative black metal album, but the tweaks that are implemented work beautifully.”

“KHORS is steadily becoming a force in the atmospheric black metal scene”
—Blistering.com
“Atmospheric brand of black metal that has progressed from rawness, to precision and darkness over time. They’ve always used keyboards giving their music somewhat of a psychedelic sound and even prog-ish at times though with this new album they enhance their sound better than on any other disc”
—Popdose
“Tasteful keyboard usage and traditional folkie instrumentation.”
—Decibel
KHORS features former members of Hate Forest, Tessaract, and Drudkh. Their fifth full-length Wisdom Of Centuries is enhanced by the use of various ethnic instruments, is the first performed in the band’s native tongue and continues to reap the praise of critics domestically and abroad.
