GROUP’S SOPHOMORE LP, THE IN CROWD, TO BE RELEASED IN MARCH 2008
Duck Down Records, in an effort to continue to expand its roster, is proud to announce the signing of Kidz in the Hall. Double-0, the Producer/DJ and Naledge, the Lyricist/MC, Kidz In The Hall are looking to become one of hip-hop's most admired acts, destined to leave a legacy of artistic brilliance and after recently finishing their latest mixtape, “Detention,” and tour dates with Redman and their forthcoming sophomore LP, “The In Crowd,” they are well on their way to doing so.
Kidz in the Hall were previously signed to Rawkus Records and released their debut, “School Was My Hustle,” on the imprint, but felt Duck Down Records would be the home that could help propel them to the next level and as Matty Marcus (founder of Major League Entertainment) asserts it’s a win win for all parties and a unique joint venture between Duck Down and Major League entertainment as both companies will be intimately involved in all aspects of marketing and promotion "the Major League team could not be more excited to partner with Duck Down Records for the next Kidz in the Hall album (entitled "The In Crowd"). The loyalty the label has shown to their roster over the years was a definite selling point and Dru Ha and the Duck Down team are the perfect partners to elevate the Kidz In The Hall brand to the next level. This new exciting partnership is a welcomed change and a breath of fresh air for our entire team.”
Kidz In The Hall group members Naledge and Double-O are equally excited about the union as Double-O adds "I think that this deal is an excellent opportunity to spread our wings. Duck Down Records has proven that they can successfully promote independent acts on a major scale and their enthusiasm in our music let's us know that they are 100% behind making the Kidz In The Hall movement successful."
Kidz in the Hall's upcoming sophomore LP "The In Crowd" is set for release in March 2008 on Major League/Duck Down Records

ANBERLIN
ANBERLIN--who are currently crossing the U.S. on their fall tour with Motion City Soundtrack, Mae and Metro Station--will be performing in Los Angeles next week at The Wiltern (12/4).
As acclaim continues to grow for the ANBERLIN's third studio album CITIES--which debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart at #19--the group just released a special collection of B-sides and rarities titled LOST SONGS. The 19-song disc features rare and never-before-released material spanning the band's entire career with special acoustic versions, cover songs-which include some of the group's favorite artists: Bob Dylan, Depeche Mode, Radiohead The Smiths and others---as well as B-sides.
ANBERLIN recently shot a video for "The Unwinding Cable Car," the second single off CITIES which follows the popular track "Godspeed." Alternative Press magazine praised the song for its, "shimmering acoustic instrumentation," Outburn called it "breathtaking..." and All Music.com heralded, "the acoustic guitar-driven "The Unwinding Cable Car' is emo at its most naked."

2007 continues to be a breakthrough year for the FL-based ANBERLIN--STEPHEN CHRISTIAN (Vocals), JOEY MILLIGAN (Lead Guitar) DEON REXROAT (Bass), CHRISTIAN MCALHANEY (Rhythm Guitar) and NATE YOUNG (Drums)--who announced earlier this fall they've signed with Universal Republic Records and will release their fourth studio album mid 2008.

The Yarrows
The Yarrows’ Plum comes at you with such subtlety and mastery of its own language that it's hard to believe that this album is a debut. This is an indelible, song-driven, and human album; Plum is a musical atmosphere as textured and psychological as the songs themselves, filled with full-blooded and naked emotionalism that never descends into melodrama. It’s a sublime record, one that trucks in the same territory mined by tindersticks and the National while sounding wholly unique. Really take your time with this one. It's worth it.
The Yarrows debut album, Plum, arrives via Empyrean Records on December 18, 2007!

ROSEY GETS LUCKY IN JAZZ
Set to Release Luckiest Girl in March 2008
LOS ANGELES, CA - Sultry and seductive are just two of the many tags that Quango recording artist ROSEY has tucked in her back pocket, but those come just as easily as what Entertainment Weekly once dubbed "as cool as anything you'll hear" or as Rolling Stone described as "Boho chic, grrrl power". Sassy and alluring, she's sauntering back with her new album Luckiest Girl to be released in March 2008, proudly displaying a new jazzy direction that's perfectly suited for her smoky and textured vocals.
Making huge waves with her 2002 debut album Dirty Child, Rosey graced the pages of publications such as Blender, Cosmo, Stuff Magazine, and was even featured in the Annie Leibovitz-shot pic from Vanity Fair's uber-influential New Music Issue with Alicia Keyes, John Mayer, among many others. Launching into 2008 with a new album and a new direction, this chanteuse still remains fiercely in control of her own vision. "Making this record has been an incredible evolution for me as an artist and a woman alike," explains the Los Angeles-based artist. "[Dirty Child] was about the trials and tribulations of a scared little girl trying to find some peace of mind in her dark and messy head. I’m a lot happier now, and that definitely comes through in the songs."
Gravitating away from the layered alternapop of her first album, Rosey strips away the glossy production and presents a record that's rootsy and emotional... with a real heartbeat and a purr. "People had always told me that my voice was well-suited to jazz," she continues. "It’s always been a dream of mine to sing along with an orchestra. So anything that will get me closer to that has certainly put me on the right path." Diving headfirst into jazz's complex construction, Rosey not only unravels its format but finds its pulse too. "My favorite thing was recording first thing in the morning, after coffee and a few cigarettes, to get that gravelly milk tone to make me sound wise beyond my years. It was so fun, being able to create this whole new character. I had to quit the smoking though, that sh*t was killing me," she laughs.
Kicking things off with the opening track "It's a Ruse," it's apparent that Rosey hasn't lost her sultry growl, but one thing that stands out prominently is a newfound confidence in herself as a singer and songwriter. "I knew Jazz would be an incredible challenge for me as a writer and a singer, but I’m always down for a good challenge....even if it scares the hell out of me," she laughs. "Some of my all time favorite singers – Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Etta James, Nina Simone – have inspired me in so many ways. Through all of their pain, there remained a cool confidence you could feel in their voices that was so desirable to me. And if there was a way to have that strength and control, while also having the freedom to get lost in a melody, then I wanted to figure out how to do it too." From the lilting croon of "It's Easier On Me" to the smoky torch of "Be Somebody Blues" to the reworking of "Love" which put her on the map (it first appeared on the critically-acclaimed soundtrack to Bridget Jones' Diary), Luckiest Girl shows her maturing as an artist and as a musician.
"This whole experience of writing, producing and performing jazz has really made me feel like I can do anything I set my mind to," she sums up. "I think that kind of confidence is hard to come by as an artist and I sure hope it lasts...cause I got big plans for all kinds of new records to come."

FOO FIGHTERS ANNOUNCE US TOUR DATES FOR '08
TOUR INCLUDES FIRST EVER APPEARANCE AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN
RECORD-SETTING WEMBLEY STADIUM SHOWS SELL OUT INSTANTLY
After selling a staggering 163,000 tickets in 24 hours for their June 6 & 7 stand at London's Wembley Stadium, Foo Fighters have set their sights on America. The band has confirmed the bulk of their first American tour in support of their new album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace (a handful of dates remain TBA). This will be the band's biggest American tour to date and includes the Foos' first ever show at New York's Madison Square Garden. As on their warm up dates earlier this fall, core Foo Fighters Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett will be joined by Pat Smear on guitar, Rami Jaffee on keyboards, Drew Hester on percussion, and Jessy Greene on strings.
Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace is Foo Fighters' sixth studio album and has proven itself a worthy addition to the band's discography, as songs like 'The Pretender' and new single 'Long Road To Ruin' are holding their own every night alongside known barnburners like 'My Hero' and 'Best Of You'. As Entertainment Weekly said of the new album, "the band has taken everything it's always done best... and brought it to the next level."
For fans who want to ensure themselves good seats and support a good cause at the same time, a limited quantity of premium tickets for a number of shows will be available only through Ticketmaster auctions. Auction proceeds will benefit local tree planting through TreeBank, an online donation system dedicated to urban forest tree planting. Each auction will run for approximately two weeks following each show's on-sale date, and TreeBank will distribute auction proceeds to local "branches" for tree planting in every community on the Foo Fighters tour. LEWIS & CLARKE
Perform @ The Museum of Modern Art in NYC, 9:30pm Tomorrow Evening!
The songs of Lewis & Clarke are medicinal, meditative, and trance-inducing. They wind along lengthy lines of chamber folk, full of bows and bells, aphorisms and dreamy dreams. Both literally and figuratively, Blasts of Holy Birth is about being born and re-born.
Eve Miller and Russell Higbee join the folds of nylon-string guitar, harp, keyboard, horns, strings, and drums, with Lou Rogai, the voice and vision, with arms of friends draped in the name Lewis & Clarke.
Rogai is a pastoralist, a rat-race expatriate, an old-soul musician who chose to live more deliberately with his family under the eaves of mountain trees in Pennsylvania's Delaware Water Gap. It is a community distant to the big city's pace, but close enough for gigs and recording sessions with his city-folk colleagues. Among them are Russell Higbee (harp, keys) of Man Man and Eve Miller of Rachel's (cello) who, too, embrace the exploration of sinewy eastern melody and unaffected compassion called Lewis & Clarke.
"A profound work of earthy, orchestrated new-folk, Blasts Of Holy Birth raises the bar for both listeners and players in search of evolution in roots-oriented music. Meshing gorgeously hushed melodies and plucked guitars with baroque string arrangements and ethereal pulses and surges, Lewis & Clarke ( a.k.a. Del. Water Gap's Lou Rogai) has crafted a transcendent work of epic proportions. Themed around the birthing experience, the album moves in tidal breaths through meditative and hazy soundscapes, delicate minimalism, and goose bump inducing chamber sections. An expose of grace, beauty, peril, triumph, and the interconnectivity of all things - musically and lyrically, it's really that good." - Impose Magazine
In Delaware Water Gap, one can tune in to vibrations that only exist in certain areas. It is here that Rogai, with his family, took to nest in an antiquated dwelling within earshot of an historic jazz landmark: tuned in, turned on, and just far enough away from the rattle of the rest of the world.
Blasts of Holy Birth was written not with the usual pen-in-hand love-lost scribbles that song scribes commonly sing; here are celebrations, hand-in-hand, of life's travails and joys!
Lewis & Clarke songs are long and unhurried life lessons, believed and still unveiling truths, to himself and his son, who was months away from LIFE: Day One while this album was being composed. The only piece here not written by Rogai, "Comfort Inn", is by his friend, Aaron Ross, the CA mountain dweller and singer of Hella. Ross was awaiting the birth of his daughter during same time that Rogai expected his son, and so it only fit that they share in each other's song.
Over the last few years, Lewis & Clarke have toured and performed with Isobel Campbell (Belle & Sebastian), Blur, Robyn Hitchcock, Joan of Arc, Okkervil River, Mi & L'au, The Black Swans and other contemporaries.
And as is the case with good artists and smart adults, it is through big change and artistic redemption that we re-learn who we really are. And as the meat of life is inseparable from the weight of song, Lewis & Clarke's heavy-duty beauty, Blasts of Holy Birth, is born.
"Blasts of Holy Birth" Tracklist:
1. Secret Of The Golden Flower
2. Blasts Of Holy Birth
3. Comfort Inn
4. Before It Breaks You
5. Black Doves
6. Crimson Carpets
7. We Think We Have Eyes
8. Be The Air We Breathe
Also coming soon on La Société Expéditionnaire:

Robin Trower is an English rock guitarist whose symphonic rock sound generates an inventive style that is all his own. In 1962, Trower’s first professional group was the rhythm and blues band, The Paramounts, which included drummer BJ Wilson, pianist Gary Brooker and bassist Chris Copping (later replaced by Diz Derrick). In 1967, after The Paramounts’ breakup, Trower joined Procul Harem, a progressive rock band best known for their 1967 hit single “A Whiter Shade of Pale.” The group maintained a devoted following throughout their career, with their music principally noted for its classical influences and blues and pop embrace. Trower's first venture alone, Jude, was a Led Zeppelin-influenced four-piece featuring ex-Jethro Tull drummer Clive Bunker, bassist James Dewar of Stone the Crows, and pub-rocker Frankie Miller. However, Jude never managed to record an album. Instead, Trower played a few solo gigs before signing with Chrysalis in 1973, which was shortly followed by the release of his début “Twice Removed from Yesterday.” In 1974 Trower released his magnum opus “Bridge of Sighs,” which was recently re-mastered and re-released this year.
This tour promises to be musical treat for the senses. You won’t want to miss this icon of blues rock as he brings us a night of musical intrigue and haunting melodies.
