PVRIS Premiere New Acoustic Music Video For "My House"


Today, PVRIS is premiering the acoustic video for their recently released track, "My House." The song is the second single off of White Noise, the band's debut full-length out November 4th, 2014 via Rise/Velocity Records. DAVIDGE, Esteemed Composer and Producer of Massive Attack, Set To Release 'Riot Pictures' featuring Sandie Shaw October 7th

Last year with the release of her entire back catalogue Sandie flippantly announced her plans to retire… her agenda was in fact all the more exciting. The retirement taken as a literal comment by the media was not an outright plan to turn to pastures new, but in fact a desire to put to bed her musical past, move on from her musical heritage and focus on a new sound, a new image and brand new material. Neil Davidge, best known for his production work on the ground breaking album "Mezzanine” and the hauntingly beautiful single “Teardrop”. This year, Neil delivered his debut solo album ‘Slo Light’, a work of quality electronica and distinctive beats. Brass Bed returns with a brand new 7" on MA'AM Records! Out November 18th, Entertainment Weekly just debuted the A side, "Be Anything."


Brass Bed is releasing a brand new 7" with MA'AM Records on November 18th, 2014!

Following on the heels of their highly acclaimed 2013 LP, The Secret Will Keep You, "Be Anything" b/w "Mind The Gap" captures the band live on two inch tape deep in the midst of their tour cycle.

Yesterday, Entertainment Weekly debuted "Be Anything" calling it "a blissful balance of dirty fuzz and clean melodic lines that has a lot in common with Teenage Fanclub at their best."

Sweating their way through tour fever, exhaustion, and the last round of shows supporting 2013’s The Secret Will Keep You, Brass Bed entered The Loading Dock studios in Sacramento’s fruit-packing district with Chris Woodhouse (Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall) to blast out a three song set on a chance collaboration.  Woodhouse’s breakneck tracking speed and explosive guitar treatments collided with a Brass Bed line-up well honed in dynamic, incandescent performances from nearly a year on the road. The result was an unlikely marriage of aesthetics boiled quickly in a summer heat that resulted in a raw, unsettled, lunging, leaning, and skuzzy version of a band heretofore known for its song craft and precision, all captured live to 16 tracks of two-inch tape.
While the three-song session would serve as the cornerstone of the band’s upcoming 4th LP (much of which was also recorded with Chris at the Dock) the material as it sat right on the tape, mixed in a fury of caffeine and beer, was just too good to languish on a reel. Recorded with the shortest distance from sweaty performance to wax, and presented in its purest form, the band shares “Be Anything” b/w “Mind the Gap” and a glimpse of what’s to come.
Brass Bed is the lifelong collaboration of Jonny Campos, Christiaan Mader, and Peter DeHart, begun during a bedroom recording session in Lafayette, LA in the Elephant 6-obsessed summer break from college.  It has blossomed from studio to stage through changes in lineup, geographic distance, three studio albums, four EPS, a handful of singles, a pair of robberies, and the various life distractions known as growing up. Brass Bed is not a project.  Brass Bed is a band.

of Montreal launches tour, talks new LP + shares Lousy With Sylvianbriar demo


  
Following last year's Lousy with Sylvianbriar, of Montreal has finished recording their new, forthcoming LP Aureate Gloom. As the band launches their current US tour and announces a new run of US dates in January, Kevin Barnes recently took time to speak with Paste and Stereogum about the evolution of the band and what people can expect from the upcoming album. RIGOR MORTIS New Album Streaming in Full on Bloody Disgusting


Twenty-Three years after their last record, and nineteen months after the tragic loss of guitarist Mike Scaccia, DFW TX Speed/Thrash Metal pioneers,RIGOR MORTIS, will release their fourth and final studio album - Slaves to the Grave (Due October 7th via Rigor Mortis Records). This marks the bands first studio album in 23 years, and the first with the classic original line up (Mike Scaccia - guitar, Casey Orr - Bass, Bruce Corbitt - Vocals, andHarden Harrison on drums), since their 1988 eponymous debut album.

Recorded less than a year before Mike's passing, Slaves To The Grave was to going to herald the band's long overdue comeback. In February 2012, RIGOR MORTIS entered 13th Planet Studios in El Paso, and recorded the 10 tracks that would become STTG. The artwork was done Michael Broom. 
Without question, this record contains some of Mike's finest work. In his zone and with no restraints, he delivered some absolutely stellar performances. His solo at the end of "Blood Bath", for instance, is absolutely breathtaking, exposing more heart and soul than precious few of his contemporaries possess.
RIGOR MORTIS dedicates this record to Mike Scaccia 1965-2012.

Locksley returns with new single "Let It Ride" + CMJ confirmed!


“Let It Ride,” the new single from Locksley is streaming now at NYLON (http://bit.ly/1v0Nii0). The song serves as a preview to the band’s upcoming album to be released in the new year. To celebrate, the band has confirmed a special performance highlighting all new material on October 25 at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City during this years’ CMJ Music Marathon.
 
Locksley made their debut with 2007’s Don’t Make Me Wait. Coming off a residency as the last house band at CBGB in its closing months, Locksley was heralded as “addictive” by MTV and chosen as one of “6 Breakout Bands to Watch” by Rolling Stone, with SPIN noting their “early punk stylings and contemporary lo-fi inflections able to win over even the most discriminate of music fans.” Furthermore, the band performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” which helped earn them tour slots with acts like Hanson, Rooney, The Hives, as backing band for Ray Davies of the Kinks, headlining the MTV Choose or Lose tour, as well as steady international headlining dates. In 2010 they followed up with Be In Love. Songs “Don’t Make Me Wait,” “She Does,” and breakout single “The Whip” have garnered over 300 syncs in movies, television, commercials, web, and sports.
 
Locksley is Jesse Laz (vocals, guitar), Jordan Laz (vocals, bass), Kai Kennedy (vocals, guitar) and Sam Bair (drums). The band grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and relocated to New York City, where they have remained throughout their extensive career as an entirely self-produced, self-published, self-managed and self-releasing collective.

JUNIUS: Announce "Forcing Out The Silence" EP Vinyl Release on November 18th + Pre-Order


Ten years ago, in the fall of 2004, then Boston-based Junius released their first EP, Forcing Out The Silence. Since that time, Junius has toured around the world many times over and released numerous other EP's, splits and full-lengths.  To celebrate the anniversary of the band's first-ever release and a decade of existence, the Space Rock quartet have teamed up with Science of Silence Records to bring the Forcing Out The Silence EP back to life.

First released by Radar Recordings and later packaged together with the Blood Is Bright EP to form the band's first self-titled full length, this marks the first time Forcing Out The Silence will be released as a standalone vinyl piece on November 18th.

At the time Amplifier Magazine said "This fiery Boston quartet displays the potential to emerge as the bridge between post-grunge and the future of alternative rock."  Razorcake also commented, "Take the darkness of The Cure's best and mix it with the heaviness of A Perfect Circle and moodiness of Placebo... This fell into my lap at the right time." 

Completely remastered for vinyl by Will Benoit of The Radar Studio (Caspian, Constants, Gifts From Enola), this release will see its original artwork expanded for the format by guitarist Michael Repasch-Nieves. Vinyl will be limited to 500 with four different variants being offered: Black (180g), White, Red as well as a White/Black Swirl.  All versions will have a B-Side etching.
Pre-orders for the November 18th release are currently up for sale now at www.scienceofsilence.net.  All orders will receive a digital download of the remastered album which will also include an unearthed demo for the track "From The Isle of the Blessed."

Sean Danielsen (Smile Empty Soul) announces 'Food Chain' solo EP, acoustic tour dates


Sean Danielsen, guitarist/vocalist of veteran hard rock band, Smile Empty Soul, has announced a new solo EP 'Food Chain' to be released on November 4. Unlike Danielsen's previous solo EP 'Enjoy the Process,' which released in 2013 and featured six acoustic tracks, 'Food Chain' will consist of five full-band songs recorded at Babyland Studios in Van Nuys, Calif.

Danielsen has also confirmed a fall solo acoustic tour in support, beginning Halloween night in Houston, Texas.

"I'm really excited to be releasing my own solo music and doing my own shows," said Danielsen. "It's a nice change of pace for me, and a challenge that I'm looking forward to."

 

Since releasing its debut album on Atlantic Records in 2003, Danielsen and Smile Empty Soul continue to be a relentless force in hard rock. With countless successful tours, a top 10 single and a certified gold record, Smile Empty Soul released its sixth album Chemicalslast year.
