Norwegian-based group Casiokids are excited to announce their new full-length release, Aabenbaringen over aaskammen, out on October 11 on Polyvinyl. Aabenbaringen over aaskammen ("The Revelation over the mountain") is the follow up to their critically acclaimed US singles collection Topp stemning på lokal bar("Great vibe at local bar"), hailed by Pitchfork as "tropic and cosmic...an uncommonly ripened and grounded debut." The forthcoming album features a collaboration with labelmates of Montreal and will be released on CD/MP3/LP (Limited Edition of 500 copies 180 Gram Blue Vinyl).

Over the last year Casiokids have left audiences around the world mesmerized. The group was hand-picked by fellow Norwegians a-ha as a potential recipient of one of four talent grants the band was offering, and won the coveted prize through a popular vote, affording them the opportunity to open for them on the group's farewell tour last fall -- a trek they promptly followed-up with a one-week North American tour sandwiched between festival appearances in England, Poland and Australia. Casiokids were also nominated for a Spellemann Award (the Norwegian equivalent of a Grammy) at the same time they were playing sold out shows across the U.S. with labelmates Starfucker this past Spring. Incorporating a blend of shadow puppets, video projections and animal costumes into their live show AOL Spinner noted, "it's no wonder concert-goers can't stop raving about this high energy Norwegian export."

And yet, amidst all of the seemingly constant jet setting and endless stream of accolades bestowed upon them, Casiokids managed to set aside an uninterrupted block of time to record a new album. (Well, that's not entirely true. There were those days in April when they played Mexico City and Russia -- in the same weekend.)

Amidst all of the constant jet setting they were able to complete an album that with new song styles and enhanced instrumentation. The resulting album is unlike anything Casiokids has released thus far.WithAabenbaringen over aaskammen, the band devoted extra attention to the recording process. Frontman Ketil Kinden Endresen stated "Even though we've become more interested in production possibilities, we still wanted to retain the rawness of the first two records. The dulcet tones of the Casio will always be at the core of our manifesto."

IVAN & ALYOSHA ANNOUNCE AUGUST TOUR DATES WITH BRANDI CARLILE

BEGIN RECORDING OF DEBUT ALBUM WITH PRODUCER KEVIN AUGUNAS

FATHERS BE KIND INCLUDED ON AMAZON & NPR BEST MUSIC OF 2011 LISTS

Continuing a year of high profile touring which has paired them with Aimee Mann, Lucinda Williams, John Vanderslice and The Low Anthem, among others, Ivan & Alyosha are currently captivating audiences on their second run of shows with Brandi Carlile. With many dates already sold out, I&A will play to approximately 40,000 people over the course of the tour. The band will perform songs from their first two EPs as well as tracks from their upcoming debut album, scheduled for an early 2012 release; they recently spent time in the studio working on material for their full-length debut album with producer Kevin Augunas (Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, Cold War Kids).

The band's current release, Fathers Be Kind just showed up on Amazon's Best Music of 2011 Thus Far, with that EP's "I Was Born to Love Her" ranked at #4 on their "Songs You May Have Missed" round-up. This echoed the earlier inclusion of Fathers on NPR's Best of the Year (So Far) list.

Sneak previews of new Ivan & Alyosha songs can be had right now. I&A have released "Don't Wanna Die Anymore", an acoustic version of a song that will be featured on their debut album, it is available HERE via Paste Magazine; the boys also stopped by Seattle's KEXP studios to perform live on air for their home-town station. Take a listen at the link below, and get a sneak preview of the new song "God or Man".

Hunx and his Punx

Too Young To Be In Love is the first fully-realized Hunx and His Punx album, and the group's first for Hardly Art. It was recorded in New York City by Ivan Julian-one of the founding members of inimitable NYC punk legends Richard Hell and the Voidoids. This record was made in the same studio that one of Hunx's idols Ronnie Spector once recorded in. While it is preceded by the Gay Singles LP (True Panther Sounds/Matador Records, 2009), a collection of hard-to-find and out-of-print 7" singles, Too Young To Be In Love is the first proper studio record from Hunx and His Punx.

Too Young To Be In Love also marks the first time the group has ever been comprised entirely by "punkettes"-another name for the all girl band that band leader Seth Bogart (aka Hunx) always dreamed of. Shannon Shaw (of Shannon and the Clams) plays bass, and wrote three of the album's songs. Her powerful voice on "Lovers Lane" and "The Curse of Being Young" crackles and breaks with a raw ferocity that perfectly compliments Hunx's swoon-worthy nasal croon. This album also represents a distinct reversal of roles-the all-girl quartet (Shaw, plus guitarist Michelle Santamaria, drummer Erin Emslie, and Amy Blaustein on guitar/organ) bring the fire... while Hunx brings the softness-the sweet, oh so sweet, sugar. All of the ladies sing on this album, and their voices combine to create some modern Wall of Sound magic.

Hunx and His Punx might be the first ever "girl group" fronted by a flamboyant gay male whose dream in life is to sound like a girl. They have created a unique new sound they refer to as "Young Oldies", a mixture of 50s teenage rock n roll, 60s girl groups and bubblegum pop.

Hunx is that boy you just wanna kiss-maybe after sharing a triple-scoop ice cream cone, then roller-skating with the Shangri-Las and Redd Kross rotating on a never-ending loop. He's the boy in that picture from your high-school yearbook-the one you pasted sparkly red heart stickers all over, then taped inside your locker. He's the boy you fantasize about because he always saves you from your broken heart. You've never met him-but you love him... because you know he believes in love.

"I only write songs out of heartbreak" says Hunx of the new record. Older songs focused on trashier homoerotic topics like cruising and boyfriend stealing. But Too Young To Be In Love is all about love and heartbreak. People tend to have scandalous ideas about Seth "Hunx" Bogart. This can happen when you try to French kiss the entire front row at one of your shows, pose for photographs nude or bare everything in the video for "Lust For Life" by the band Girls. But behind all of this is a sweet and somewhat innocent entertainer who knows how to put on a show.

Despite the sweet overtones of Too Young To Be Love, there are also plenty of heartbreak and some dark moments. One might think, at first glance, that the final track, "Blow Me Away" is a winking nod to fellatio. "It's a song about my father who killed himself when I was a teenager," saysHunx, somehow proving that the album's title, Too Young To Be In Love, might be selling Bogart a little short. He has never been "too young." And he really does believe in love.

As he gears up for the release of his solo debut album, Jesse “Boots Electric” Hughes will give a little taste of what to expect with a special show in LA on August 18th at Paper Ships/Exchange LA – tickets for which are available HERE. The Eagles of Death Metal frontman is also giving a quick behind-the-scenes look at the making of the upcoming full-length, Honkey Kong, which is out Sept 20th on Dangerbird Records. Click HERE for footage of Hughes cooking up some new tunes in the studio (note: audio contains content that might offend some listeners).

Honkey Kong was produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, Depeche Mode, The Kooks) and co-written with legendary keyboardist Money Mark, best known for his many collaborations with the Beastie Boys. As these collaborators suggest, Hughes is showing a whole new side of himself that was only hinted at with his work in Eagles of Death Metal. His new material, as Boots Electric ,explores a more keyboard-heavy, danceable sound and oozes more of Hughes’ beloved swagger than ever before. If you haven’t yet heard the first single, click HERE for “Boots Electric Theme,” which features Brody Dalle on vocals.

Band To Release Limited Edition Vinyl Pressing Of Time Is Up
Denver thrash warriors, HAVOK, who recently pummeled the masses on tour with Bay Area legends, Forbidden, will embark on another punishing support trek this Fall alongside headliners Exhumed, Goatwhore and Cephalic Carnage. Set to commence on October 26 in New Mexico, the tour will lay waste to nearly two dozen cities and come to a close in Flagstaff, Arizona on November 20.
Said vocalist/guitarist David Sanchez: "I'm fuckin' psyched! This lineup is HEAVY! I'm a fan of all of the bands that we'll be playing with, so this is gonna be really fun. Even better, we finally get to tour with Cephalic Carnage. It will be cool to show people how bands from Denver throw down. If this tour is anything like our last run with Forbidden, there are going to be some gnarly pits and bloody noses. Anyone that's going to these shows should be prepared to have a sore neck."
Added drummer Pete Webber: "We are pumped to announce our tour with Exhumed, Goatwhore and Cephalic Carnage this Fall! Our last tour with Forbidden was one of the best yet and we hope to keep the heat going with this one! We will be hitting some cities where HAVOK has not played in awhile and you all better show your metal faces there!"

HAVOK
will be touring in support of their critically-adored Time Is Up full-length, released earlier this year via Candlelight Records. The record has earned near-perfect ratings from media outlets large and small.
Noted Rock Sound adamantly: "Everyone should be worshipping at these Denver native's altar as they have the flashy skill, ridiculous song-writing chops and prodigious lead guitar work that'll have even the most jaded ears saying, 'Okay, just this last one...'" Terrorizer agreed, declaring: "Everything great about thrash -- infectious, galloping riffs, hummable choruses, a vast array of gang vocals in 'DOA' -- is employed, with their ace in the hole being Reece Scruggs, whose sumptuously-phrased solos, balancing shred, fiery modal moves and soulful, blues bends will suck in everyone from guitar nerds to song-structure curmudgeons."
Said Agnostic Front's Roger Miret of the track "No Amnesty" in the April 2011 edition of Decibel Magazine's Call & Response feature: "Thrash in the vein of Overkill, Nuclear Assault, Kreator etc. I don't know if this is a new band or an old's band new material, but it's pretty kick ass!" About.com gave the record a 4/5 rating stating simply: "This is a damn good thrash album. Call it retro, new thrash revival or whatever, HAVOK have the chops and the ability to prove that they have the staying power to last in this genre," while Hardrock Haven opined: "...for those who feel Metallica wussed out, Megadeth got too corporate, Anthrax too modern and Slayer too, well, the same as always, HAVOK should be a great reminder as to what made thrash so damn cool in the first place."
In related news, a limited edition, hand-numbered, color vinyl pressing of Time Is Up will be released via Restricted Release to coincide with the upcoming tour. Additionally, HAVOK will be shooting a new video for "D.O.A." this month. Details to be unveiled soon. In case you missed it, check out the band's video for "Covering Fire," which was shot in Tyler, Texas, produced by Mike Gillespie and directed by Brian Jaynes. View the video HERE:

Santah
Announce August and September US Dates w/ Guests An Horse, Civil Twilight, David Vandervelde and More
Debut Album "White Noise Bed" Out Now on No Sleep Records

Following the release of their celebrated debut album "White Noise Bed" (out now on No Sleep Records), and premiere of their new video for album single "No Other Women," Chicago-based Americana-pop band Santah have announced plans to set out on a 30+ date headlining US tour spanning the months of August and September, and featuring guests An Horse, Civil Twilight, Ocean is Theory, David Vandervelde, The Kopecky Family and more along the way.

In addition, the band has plans for a second round of dates taking place this Fall with friends Army Navy and presented in conjunction with FILTER Magazine (more details coming soon).

"'No Other Women'" is quite the ballad of a tune with commanding vocals and soaring riffs by Stanton McConnell, piano runs that are littered all over the place and smashing drums that keep the tune from flying too far into the abyss." - Filter

“With a hazy kind of twang, it should also garner comparisons to a more folksy version of Vampire Weekend or a younger, slightly more poppy Wilco and/or Whiskytown. However they got their sound, it’s definitely one worthy of lengthy exploration.” - Consequence of Sound

"...like a David Lynch version of Toy Story accompanied by some even better music." - Absolutepunk

"Warm, fuzzy, with more hooks per minute than a Costco-sized bucket of Superchunk, ecstatic coded emotions pulled from a Slanted & Enchanted outtake with a pastoral Lindsay and Stevie Nicks-era Fleetwood Mac vibe creeping in—altogether, it's a nice little jangly, innocent slab of musical cloudspace that's sure to make a splash with kids these days." - Time Out Chicago

"Vampire Weekend will be the go-to comparison here, but there's a different sort of feel at the root of Santah's songs. A little bit more relaxed, they go bigger with the vocals and are free to go wherever they'd like with the riffs, which always makes for more interesting indie." - RCRDLBL

"White Noise Bed is built on a steady foundation of Midwestern rock, with a subtle dose of pop, a sideways glance at twang and a healthy hankering for the slightly psychedelic. These kids aren't exactly rewriting the rulebook, but they certainly know how to bend its boundaries enough to keep their songs fresh and interesting upon multiple listens." - Chicagoist

Santah was born with their feet planted in the ground and their heads in the clouds. Composed of guitarist/vocalist Stanton McConnell, drummer Steven Plock, bassist Otto Stuparitz, and Tommy Trafton on keyboards, the quintet met at the University of Illinois and with their debut full-length record, "White Noise Bed," they have assembled a kaleidoscopic opus whose reach extends far beyond the Midwest.

Recorded at the late Jay Bennett's Pieholden Studios, where the band found its niche among the studio's forbearers of psychedelic Americana, "White Noise Bed" has a yin and yang aesthetic: sometimes sunny and sometimes stormy, but always running on audible elation. The band takes its cues from the power pop greats of the 70's such as The Raspberries and The Cars, and dresses them in a twangy haze, full of clever, lyrical nooks and crannies ala Wilco and Whiskeytown.

After finishing the record last May, Stan's sister Vivian joined the band, adding her passionate vocals and thoughtful guitar. They have since been touring the country and building their cult following; performing multiple sets at CMJ, SXSW and the Pygmalion Music Festival, and sharing the stage with the likes of Surfer Blood, Cults, Margot and the Nuclear So and So's, Pomegranates and Young the Giant.

Santah isn't just something the listener hears, it's something they feel. Be it a tropical aura of relaxation, the bittersweet mystery of growing up, or the lulling memory of a past love, Santah creates an original sonic journey for all.

Presented by Samsung AT&T Summer Krush, the proceeds from tonight's concert will benefit the GRAMMY Foundation's® GRAMMY in the Schools® (www.grammyintheschools.com)music education programs for high school students.

The band, which has played numerous international festivals this summer, will headline Lollapalooza at Chicago's Grant Park this Friday, August 5. Coldplay's recent Glastonbury set was broadcast live on VH1 and Palladia, marking the first time in the music festival's 41-year history that an artist's full concert was televised in the U.S. "Their gig was one of the best I've seen in the last ten years," said The Sun. "The new songs fitted in seamlessly, while the big hits sent Worthy Farm into orbit." "Coldplay understands how to make a shared moment from a song...their respect for their fans is obvious," noted The Times of London while The Observer called the band's set "faultless."

"Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" is now available as a digital EP on the iTunes Store. In addition to the title track, it includes two brand new songs - "Major Minus" and "Moving To Mars." The physical CD single and limited edition 7" blue vinyl, which feature "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" and "Major Minus," are also available now. "They're really, really, highly energetic. And that's a good place to start. If you don't have that electricity and energy to begin with, it's harder to get to someplace new, someplace that musicians haven't gone to before. It's a wild abandon inside them. I can see that it's inside of those guys, and it's just gonna keep snowballing. In three or four years from now, it's just gonna get bigger, and bigger, and bigger.”JACK WHITE

"An energetic blast of punky garage rock that climaxes with a Southern fried guitar solo and plenty of overdriven bass." SPIN

"PUJOL and his gargage-y outfit will win over distortion lovers and haters alike. His lyrics and hooks are so good that often times he seems more like an early electric Dylan than the punk greats he probably more closely looks up to. And he pulls it all off with a slightly sinister carelessness that could make him a star if he wants it." AMERICAN SONGWRITER

"Recalls Paul Westerberg on those early, bratty Replacements records." PREFIX

"They've got a gritty, garage-band sound, but with guitar riffs and catchy hooks that are hard to resist." NYLON

"Flickering hot and fast, the rough-edged rock ’n’ roll of Daniel Pujol has been lighting up the other Nashville of late, a parallel city of young, punk-influenced musicians that permeates the capital of country music." amNY

"Guitar-shredding, whiskey-roaring bursts of eclectic rock-and-roll ambition" BOSTON PHOENIX

"PUJOL makes poppy punky party rock that is hard to dislike" BROOKLYN VEGAN

"PUJOL writes infectious garage-punk channeling the classic vibes of his hometown, Nashville, TN." WFMU

"Nashville, Tenn.’s Daniel Pujol puts out twangy, energetic garage rock that is equal parts regional color and classic American pop. Anchored by infectious guitar hooks and anthemic, chant-able choruses, Pujol’s sound is one that likely can’t be kept below the Mason-Dixon for long" NY PRESS
