2011 has been a year of growing successes and increased exposure for Locksley. In conjunction with their single "The Whip" impacting at many radio stations across Top 40 and Alternative Rock formats over the last few weeks, songs from the album are currently featured in national tv ad campaigns for both Ford and Chevy. The band have also recently performed for the MLB Fancave as well as MTV's "Ten on Top" and "Buzzworthy" series. In addition to all of this, the band saw a dream come true when following a packed performance at Summer Stage this past Thursday, the Wisconsin natives were honored to sing the national anthem at a Milwaukee Brewers game.
MTV Buzzworthy

Their songs also played major roles in the soundtracks and promotional campaigns for the animated box office success Rango, and the spring horror film and series relaunch, Scream 4.

PORTISHEAD ANNOUNCE NORTH AMERICAN TOUR THIS OCTOBER 2011

For Immediate Release: July 11, 2011:
Nobody sounds like Portishead. The progression of their albums has clearly established their uncompromising stance towards their future. For the first time since 1998, Portishead announce their North American tour this October 2011.
Portishead kick off their tour at this year’s All Tomorrow's Parties presentation, I'll Be Your Mirror Saturday October 1 & Sunday October 2 taking place in Asbury Park, N.J. Portishead co-curated these two days of the 3 day festival. According to Adrian Utley, “We've always thought that we must come back to tour in the states, something we wanted to do with the release of Third, but our schedule just wouldn’t allow it. Being that we were asked to curate I’ll be your Mirror, this just seemed like a good start to touring the states - it set’s it off in absolutely the right way. We are absolutely delighted to come back.”
Following ATP, Portishead will take the stage at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom for two nights, followed by shows in Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Mexico, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver. The tour ends in Denver on October 27th.
After an 11- year hiatus, Portishead’s album Third, the long-awaited follow up to their 1997 self-titled release, debuted at #7 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart, received rave reviews and has been hailed as an “unexpected yet totally impressive return” by Rolling Stone Magazine, and “Worth the wait” by Newsweek. "'Third' is more polymorphous, more extreme, more propulsive and often harsher than previous Portishead albums" claimed New York Times. “...anyone can make abrasive music, but few can do something new and compelling with apocalyptic heaviness” wrote Spin Magazine.
Following Third’s release, Portishead made their only U.S. performance on April 26th at the Coachella Music Festival after an invite only private rehearsal at LA’s Mayan Theater. “Beth Gibbons and Co. delivered bigtime, turning out stirring new songs from their first album in more than a decade. The band's warm peels of sound moved across the field like an aural massage, the six touring members locked in together with incredible precision, every turntable scratch and haunting synth gorgeously amplified,” praised Rolling Stone. Appropriately Portishead ended their set with "Thanks for waiting.”
Joining Beth Gibbons, Geoff Barrow and Adrian Utley on stage are Jim Barr (bass), Clive Deamer (drums), and John Baggott (keyboards).
A limited run of tickets are available for purchase thru the Portishead website July 11th, 12th,13th, and 14th. Direct Link: http://portisheadtickets.sandbag.uk.com/
Tickets go on sale to the general public July 15th and 16th, with the exception of Chicago, on sale date July 22nd.

BUSH SIGN EXCLUSIVE PARTNERSHIP WITH EONE MUSIC, NEW RECORD DUE IN SEPTEMBER

Los Angeles, CA (July 11, 2011) – Multi-platinum rock band BUSH has announced a September 13th release for highly anticipated new album THE SEA OF MEMORIES. Recorded with producer Bob Rock (Aerosmith, Metallica), THE SEA OF MEMORIES is the seminal band’s first studio release in 10 years and the first to be released via their own imprint, Zuma Rock Records, through an exclusive partnership with eOne Music.
On July 21st, the band (vocalist/guitarist Gavin Rossdale, guitarist Chris Traynor, drummer Robin Goodridge, and bassist Corey Britz) will perform lead single “The Sound of Winter” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Last week, Bush announced that they’ll be playing the Bowery Ballroom in New York City on July 28th and the show literally sold out in under a minute. On Saturday, August 20th, BUSH will also be among the headliners performing with the Sunset Strip Music Festival in LA.
THE SEA OF MEMORIES captures the electricity and trademark intensity of classic BUSH delivered in a setting that’s fresh and alive. Songs like “The Sound of Winter,” “Heart of the Matter” and “All Night Doctors” are propelled by heavy guitar and hypnotic beats, simple song structures and sublime textures.
About the album, Rossdale says, “When making music, you have a choice to repeat what you’ve done or move on. It would’ve been safe to just rework (1994’s debut album) ‘Sixteen Stone’ over and over, but what kind of life would that be? When you’re driving down the road, you’re focused on what’s in front of you; you don’t really think to keep checking in your rear view mirror. I like the idea of art changing, developing and morphing.”
Over the course of their remarkable career, BUSH has sold more than 16 million albums in the U.S. and Canada alone. They’ve also compiled an amazing string of 14 consecutive Top 40 hit singles on the Billboard Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts, including ten that hit the Top 5. Four of these became No. 1 hits: “Comedown,” “Glycerine,” “Swallowed” and “The Chemicals Between Us.”
The band is currently finalizing plans for a fall tour.

More on The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Art often thrives in the aftermath of adversity, and since we last heard from The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, there have been plenty of variables that the five-piece alternative rock act had to endure. But for the Middleburg, Florida-based band, hardships eventually ironed out thanks to unrelenting perseverance, paving the way for the band’s incredibly ambitious (and aptly titled) The Hell Or High Water EP in 2010, followed by its third and highly anticipated long player Am I The Enemy (bowing in August 2011).
Like the EP that preceded it, the project comes under a partnership with its management company The CollectiveDon’t You Fake It on the heels of the band’s voluntary parting of ways with Virgin Records, the company that first signed the band for 2006’s gold selling (spawning the smash single “Face Down”), followed by 2009’s
Lonely Road (which debuted in the top twenty of the Billboard 200). Reconnecting with its DIY roots, Am I The Enemy finds the guys sounding more on fire than ever before, exuding confidence at every razor sharp turn of the amplifier or bellowing vocal execution from impassioned front man Ronnie Winter.
“It’s been three years since our last full-length album, and in the time between, there’s been a lot of rebuilding where we’ve gotten a lot more focused, sorted out all our behind the scenes issues and got to the point of just really wanting to make a new record,” the front man asserts. “We knew that the fans were behind us after their support of The Hell Or High Water EP, but we wanted to take our writing to the next level without having to worry about any of the business stuff and just put all our focus on the music. It was just like riding a bike; right after we got into the studio, the training wheels came off and we were ready to get dangerous and test our limitations.”
Besides the band’s enthusiasm and tenacity, additional creative prodding came from producer John Feldmann, perhaps most familiar for his role as Goldfinger’s ringleader, but also known for behind the scenes work with The Used, Story of the Year, Good Charlotte, Plain White T’s, Saosin and Neon Trees (amongst countless others). Though the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus guys were lifelong Goldfinger fans, the connection came very organically after a co-producing session.
“It was totally genuine and we weren’t even looking for a producer type of deal, but just wanted to come up with some new ideas,” notes Winter. “We sat around with two acoustic guitars and right off the bat we clicked. We wrote the first single “Reap” (out April 26) and then turned around and wrote “Salvation” on the same day. We jumped right into demoing both of those songs a week after that and one thing led to another. Our work ethics blended really well, it was a ton of fun and there was no drama, which all made a huge difference in creating a record we’re all really proud of.”
Adds Feldmann: “It was a piece of cake working with the Red Jumpsuit guys. They were full of ideas and a real pleasure to record. Every one of them brought something unique to the record. This was a really fun record for me to make. Super talented musicians. Plus I kicked all their asses at ping pong.”
As for the tracks contained therein, die-hards and newcomers alike can look forward to a slew of sonic risks, wrapped around the group’s signature, post-hardcore, alternative rock romps. “There’s some cool digital programming and drum sound experimenting that we’ve never tried before and some crazy new chords with some really cool half step progressions,” reveals Winter. “John really opened some doors for us and I think any of our fans who are also musicians will notice it right away. Some of the chords are really peculiar sounding, but crazy awesome and cohesive with the rest of the record.”
A major case in point comes from the aforementioned “Reap,” which Winter asserts spawned the direction of the entire record thanks to its searing choruses, chugging verses and a ballsy “goes around comes around” attitude. The singer and producer’s second collaboration “Salvation” is an in your face anthem for anyone who’s ever faced adversity, while “Fall From Grace” firmly addresses the major label red tape from the group’s past and eventual realization to make music on its own terms. “Dive Too Deep” demonstrates the decade-nearing band dusting off an old riff that guitarist Duke Kitchens dreamt up when the guys were mere teens, but with a campfire crackling and the beer flowing, Winter finally found the right melody to match the undeniably catchy, emotional apex of the record.
As for the underlying theme, Am I The Enemy continues in the group’s thought-provoking, politically-charged direction that’s peppered previous projects, but has yet to be this bold. Regardless of one’s party line or personal beliefs, the band is sure to get listeners diving deep into the linear notes as they’re faced with probing rhetorical questions.
“We travel abroad all the time and I definitely feel like there’s a weird cloud in other countries regarding their perception of Americans,” explains Winter. “There seems to be this feeling that they think of us as bullies or the world police, though I don’t see it that way, especially when we’ve played for troops in Iraq, Cuba and here in the States. Sure there are problems, but if Am I The Enemy had a question mark after it, I would respond as a 28-year-old American by saying we’re actually trying to help strife-ridden countries learn about democracy, capitalism and freedom. We may have a bad economy and lying politicians, but as a society, I think we live in one of the greatest countries on earth.”
Listeners can certainly judge for themselves as The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus loads up its tour buses for its first proper North American tour since the last long player, backed by a bevy of international appearances. “We want to show fans we still care about them, even though we’ve been away for awhile,” sums up Winter. “We’re really excited about this record, more than anything we’ve ever released before, and we finally felt free to do what we wanted without having some huge shadow hanging over us.”

Psychic Babble Premieres Song on SPIN.com

PSYCHIC BABBLE PREMIERES SONG EXCLUSIVELY ON SPIN.COM TODAY
Psychic Babble's debut full-length album, My Brother's Ears/My Sister's Eyes, won't be out until August 16 on Yenta Records but starting today you can download one of the many standout tracks, "You Said It," exclusively at SPIN.com
The song, as SPIN describes, "meshes bright, Cure-sounding guitar with handclaps, sunny keyboard swells, and an upbeat lyrical take on a new love."
CLICK TO HEAR/DOWNLOAD "YOU SAID IT"
The musical alias of Philadelphia-based multi-instrumental Colin Frangicetto, Psychic Babble creates richly layered songs filled with swirling guitars, soaring vocals, rich harmonies, punchy percussion and glitchy electronics. Inspired by everything from the Beach Boys and Peter Gabriel to Ride and Radiohead, the album is an expansive listen that distills a variety of influences into a heady concoction that ranges from lo-fi bedroom confessionals to dream-pop and shoegaze.
If you like "You Said It" you can download another new track, "Five Fold Kiss (Don't Sleep)," via Psychic Babble's Facebook page or HERE, as well as two covers that don't appear on the album: Slowdive's "Alison" and Mazzy Star's "Fade Into You."
A huge sounding record that belies its modest means and creation, My Brother's Ears/My Sister's Eyes sounds more like the product of a full band than the mostly solo endeavor it was. Recorded in multiple apartments, vans, hotel rooms, tour buses and anywhere he had a quiet moment over the last several years, the self-produced LP is an accomplished piece of work dedicated to sonic playfulness, texture and melody that exhibits Frangicetto performing nearly every instrument heard on the 10 tracks, from guitar and bass to drums and keyboards, in addition to the vocals.
The LP is available for pre-order at http://new.merchnow.com/catalogs/psychic-babble and can be purchased on limited edition blue, pink and yellow color vinyl.
And if you were wondering, yeah, that's Colin up there on the album cover as a boy pretending to be one of The Beach Boys in his kiddie pool.

"...adorably dreamy synth-pop sound, with lots of reverb and plenty of room to dance." - NPR
"Dominant Legs, has a strange, immediately appealing sound that’s part funky Belle & Sebastian/part late-night Arthur Russell/part something uniquely his own." - Stereogum
"they play the type of nostalgia-infused pop that conjures up memories of after-school specials and lazy afternoons with friends." - NYLON
"They make fragile pop songs that sound like Arthur Russell covering Aztec Camera’s back catalog." - Vice
"swaying, dim-lit disco-duets and tremulous 70s slow jam numbers" - Altered Zones
"makes summery ditties about being young ...with an undertone of melancholy, as though remembering from moment to moment that youth and summer both fade away" - SF Weekly
"Traces of surf rock add a depth to the contradiction between the upbeat character of the music" - Tiny Mix Tapes
"Dominant Legs craft upbeat tunes about love with a penchant for David Bowie and Billy Ocean." - SF Gate
Let yourself love what you love: the idea is simple and yet the act is deceivingly hard. Nevertheless, when you are in the presence of Ryan William Lynch, songwriter, guitarist and lead vocalist for San Francisco’s Dominant Legs, you know without question that he has done just that. And he’s asking you to join him.
To judge by Dominant Legs’ sound—pop songs culled from the textures of past decades, but with a classic songwriting approach—this man has many loves. Shot through with addictive synth melodies and vocal harmonies, crossed with a chic shimmer of Nile Rogers style guitar, and flecked with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac and, yes, Tracy Chapman, Dominant Legs songs are as difficult to describe as they are to resist.
The story begins in 2008, when, after being laid off from his job as a mail clerk, Lynch, began to compose the first Dominant Legs songs in his suddenly abundant free time. He recalls, “one day I finished a new song. It was different from any song I had written before. I knew I had something.” With his newfound sound as Dominant Legs, Lynch, who had played for years in SF band Magic Bullets and was currently lending his playing to GIRLS, began catching ears and eyes while performing around San Francisco and eventually across the country.
In 2009 vocalist/keyboardist Hannah Hunt joined. With interweaving male and female vocals, the duo breathed life into songs about the perils and excitements that endlessly rise from the commingling of boy and girl. In 2010 Dominant Legs released the Young at Love and Life EP to critical praise. After a year of performing internationally, the songs had grown and so did the band: bassist Andrew Connors, guitarist Garett Goddard and drummer Rene Solomon joined to expand Dominant Legs’ sound as the group geared up to record its first full-length LP.
With a handful of songs already written, Lynch encountered a quote by the Boss himself speaking of his masterpiece, Thunder Road: “It's an invitation. It was my big invitation. We invite you to something. Not sure what yet. Something is opening up. A sense of larger life, greater experience. . . . Sense of more fun. Sense of personal exploration, the idea that it was all laying there somewhere inside of you.” He chose to run with these themes, and in late May, Dominant Leg’s first full-length was completed. Rife with a spirit of abandon and love and life experienced in its fullness, Invitation awaits you on Lefse Records this fall.

Boris announce North American headlining tour dates for October - November
"Hope/Riot Sugar" video premiered via Pitchfork:

"Boris' latest efforts are nothing short of stunning" -- Rock Sound
"Heavy Rocks is a monolithic take on everything from trippy Funkadelic acid sludge to galloping Blue Öyster pöp to lightning-riding '80s thrash; yet it all billows fluffily from the same dreamy doom factory they constructed on 2005's Pink. Farther into the cosmos is sister record Attention Please, the least "metal" thing the band have released to date, which focuses on icy rhythms and smoky moods, as if they're slinking up alongside The Xx." -- SPIN Magazine
"Despite Boris' wide sonic interests, everything comes together coherently on Attention Please, the band's best record since Pink." -- NPR
"These could easily be pegged as Boris' Zen Arcade -- the point where guitar music goes into the great beyond, pop hooks become heavier than hell and noise experiments become acutely accessible. These albums are a masterwork of feedback and fuzz, an epic symphony of sludge and speed, a blueprint for the future of heavy music." -- Cowbell Magazine
Iconoclast Japanese trio Boris announce North American headlining tour dates beginning in October. Joining them on different legs is an eclectic mix of openers including: Asobi Seksu, Tera Melos, True Widow, Liturgy, Coliseum and Master Musicians of Bukkake. The band is currently co-headlining a European trek with new label mates Russian Circles (please see all dates below).
Boris also recently premiered a new video via Pitchfork. The clip combines two songs -- "Hope" (from Attention Please) and "Riot Sugar" (from Heavy Rocks) -- taken from each of their recently released albums cleverly mashed up into one video. Watch it HERE or on YouTube.
Boris' vastly different albums, Attention Please and all-new Heavy Rocks have already received a wealth of critical praise and fan anticipation. NPR Music's First Listen has posted exclusive full album streams -- follow the links to check out Attention Please and Heavy Rocks.
Boris - Attention Please - LP/CD/digital
Boris are widely known for their ability to breach styles and stretch sonic boundaries of all that is heavy, psychedelic, droning and downright cathartic. But, Attention Please is more like a complete redefining of their potential in several ways. First and foremost, it is the first album on which all vocals are sung by lead guitarist, Wata. While she has previously sung on a couple of songs for singles and her solo outings, the entire 10-song album features her intimate, multifaceted vocal style. Secondly, the songs on Attention Please have a sultry, intoxicating catchiness to them. It's melodic without sounding pop. It's psychedelic without sounding dated. It's heavy without relying on barre chord riffs.
Boris - Heavy Rocks - LP/CD/digital
Boris has earned its rabid cult following for their ability to expertly harness music as power. Be it psychedelic metal, colossal drone, blistering punk or distortion-ravaged shoegaze, a Boris song is an exploration of sound as physical mass. The Japanese trio's classic 2002 album, Heavy Rocks
is a landmark of their mastery. So, it's fitting that the group's new album sharing the same title and very similar artwork to that disc, Heavy Rocks (2011) seeks to redefine "heavy" music in a culmination of the band's tireless efforts over the past two decades. This year's Heavy Rocks is beyond heavy, it firmly establishes Boris as a pillar of innovation and integrity in guitar-based music.
