“THE LIGHTS TOUR” BEGINS JULY 23 IN ATLANTA

Cherrytree/Interscope recording artist Ellie Goulding returns stateside this summer for her second
headline tour in support of her critically acclaimed solo debut Lights. Aptly named, “THE LIGHTS
TOUR” begins July 23 in Atlanta and wraps in late August. “I am really excited about the next tour,”
says Ellie. “This time we are ready; we are better prepared. Every city brought something new and
I learned a lot playing to different crowds. It is a learning curve. America get ready -- we're coming
and it's going to be huge!”

Having already conquered her native Britain with the best selling debut album of 2010,
singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding has won over the US audience garnering rave reviews. Lights is,
as the New York Times put it, “a happy car crash of signifiers: part electro-pop, part soul, part blues,
part indie rock, part folk” that mixes heartfelt emotion with other-worldly atmospherics and the Los
Angeles Times raves, “plenty of ethereal hooks, the album carries a dark overcast with a handful of
emotionally raw tracks.” Rolling Stone calls Lights, “sweet, sexed-up folktronica” and
Entertainment Weekly affirms “anthemic dance-pop confessional.”

This spring, Ellie made headlines when she was personally asked by William and Kate to play at the
royal wedding. May followed with performances on Saturday Night Live and Live With Regis and Kelly.

400 Blows Announce New Album "Sickness and Health" Out August 23rd on ORG Music

400 Blows Announce New Album "Sickness and Health" Out August 23rd on ORG Music
Upcoming Performance at Sunset Junction 2011 w/ Helmet, The Melvins, Butthole Surfers, Art Brut and More!

Stream "We Killed Like Champions" exclusively @ DecibelMagazine.com!

They say good things come to those who wait. One could guess that six years could be a substantial enough time to play the waiting game. So for those who remember 400 Blows (they never really went anywhere), you'll be glad to know they are returning with the slobberknocker of a full length that is "Sickness and Health," their first album in the six year gap that comes flying like a bat out of hell since the release of 2005's "Angel's Trumpets and Devil's Trombones."

One could simply take the easy way out and declare 400 Blows as a "loud, fast and asskicking band," but like fine wine, good things come with age. These Los Angeles agent provocateurs of all that is loud have created an offspring that could be the hideous outcome and unruly spawn of an experiment gone completely awry, an example of what happens when splicing the DNA of Big Business, The Circle Jerks, Helmet and godheadSilo occurs.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1997 after a few lineup changes, 400 Blows gained notoriety throughout Los Angeles and beyond with their menacing stage presence which would practically destroy everything in its path. 1998 saw the release of their first record "3.19.98" and after three years of laying siege to eardrums and soundboards everywhere, the sixteen track double record "Black Rainbow" had them touring with At the Drive In in 2001. Showing no signs of slowing down, 400 Blows had hit the ground running when they signed to the lionized roster of Gold Standard Laboratories in 2005 to release "Angel's Trumpets and Devil's Trombones," which was followed by a European tour with The Locust and appearances with The Mars Volta at All Tomorrows Parties.

Following a couple more lineup changes on drums and guitar over the next few years, 400 Blows ceased playing in 2010 and wrote this here record "Sickness and Health" with the full intention of getting back in the saddle to bring their sonic bedlam back to the masses. With the ashtray voice of singer Skot Alexander, the revving guitar of Scott Martin and the always jilted drums of Kevin Fitzgerald, 400 Blows have given us an album which exhibits the importance of why we still need bands that will kick the ass and ears of concertgoers and listeners. THIS IS what makes loud music glorious. THIS IS the personification of the true middle finger that rock and roll raises high with glory and romanticizes the hard living behind all of it. THIS IS 400 Blows.

* "Sickness and Health" will be released on CD, vinyl (w/ free download), and digital formats August 23rd on ORG Music.

400 Blows Live!
Aug 27th @ Sunset Junction in Los Angeles, CA *
* = w/ Helmet, The Melvins, Butthole Surfers, Art Brut and more!

So Many Wizards Debut New Songs on Aquarium Drunkard and FILTER, 7" Out 6/28

So Many Wizards recently debuted two new songs on Aquarium Drunkard and FILTER in preparation for the June 28th "Inner City / Best Friends" limited edition 7-inch release.

Beginning as lead singer, Nima Kazerouni’s solo-project, So Many Wizards took the form of home recordings and a live ensemble of Kazerouni accompanied by television sets displaying prerecorded tracks stacked on top of each other. Shortly after, Kazerouni began collaborating with drummer, Erik Felix and the duo recorded Love Songs For When You Leave Me EP, produced and engineered by Chris Chu from The Morning Benders, at San Francisco’s Different Fur Studios. The EP featured the dreamy song “Nico,” which embodies the band’s ethereal aesthetic. Eventually, Kazerouni recruited filmmaker and bassist Warren Woodward to complete the lineup of the Long Beach bred bedroom pop trio.

So Many Wizards are set to release the “Inner City / Best Friends” 7-inch on a limited edition 70 gram colored vinyl pressing on boutique label, Seven Inch Project. The songs reflect the contrasts realized during Nima Kazerouni’s move from the Los Angeles suburbs to the city. “Inner City” draws from the changes in pollution, poverty, noise and the paranoid uneasiness Kazerouni first experienced. "Best Friends” was written afterwards and further depicts this experience, but in the carefree sense of being able to find pockets of calm within the chaos and the general acceptance and deep appreciation for living in L.A. Together, the two songs strike a balance between anxiety and calm, city and nature.

We Are Augustines Announce Debut Album 'Rise Ye Sunken Ships' To Be Released August 23

RISE YE SUNKEN SHIPS, THE DEBUT ALBUM FROM WE ARE AUGUSTINES, SET FOR AUGUST 23rd RELEASE "CHAPEL SONG," #4 MOST ADDED AT TRIPLE A RADIO, TAPPED FOR STARBUCKS' FRAPPUCCINO® PROMOTION, KICKING OFF JUNE 6th iTUNES NAMES "HEADLONG INTO THE ABYSS" AS "SINGLE OF THE WEEK" STARTING JUNE 7th

Brooklyn-based We Are Augustines - formed by ex-Pela membersBilly McCarthy and Eric Sanderson and featuring Rob Allen on drums - will release their debut album, Rise Ye Sunken Ships, on August 23rd on the band's own Oxcart Records via ada (Alternative Distribution Alliance).

The collection kicks off with "Chapel Song," a heartrending tale of lost love. The track has been tapped by Starbucks for its upcoming "10 Song Summer Mix" digital sampler. Beginning June 6th, "Chapel Song" will be one of 10 free songs available for download on iTunes to customers who purchase a Frappuccino® at Starbucks or to any customer on the Starbucks Digital Network in store. The offer, good while supplies last, will be available in the U.S. and Canada. "Chapel Song" was #4 Most Added (tied with Amos Lee's "Flower") in its first week at Triple A radio, making We Are Augustines the highest added independent band, and 10 Non-Com stations are already spinning the record.

"Headlong Into The Abyss," another track from the album, will be iTunes' "Single of the Week" beginning June 7th in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Rise Ye Sunken Ships will be released digitally exclusively on iTunes in the above countries on the same day.

Much of the material on Rise Ye Sunken Ships documents the most traumatic period of lead vocalist/guitarist Billy McCarthy's life in which he lost both his schizophrenic mother and brother to suicide. His mother took her own life when he was just 19 and then, in 2009, his younger brother James, also a diagnosed schizophrenic, hung himself while at a psychiatric hospital.

"Keep your head up, kid/I know you can swim/But you've got to move your legs," McCarthy pleads in "Augustine" while "Headlong Into The Abyss" recounts James' flight from the police. The latter is fueled by the exhilaration that comes from giving the finger to the status quo and driving hard and fast away from one's fate. "Book of James," one of several songs recorded with producer Dave Newfeld (Broken Social Scene), is a gripping eulogy for this once-resilient spirit who succumbed to the pressures bearing down on him from both within and without. For a limited time, fans can get a free download of "Book of James" at http://weareaugustines.com/.

"Society at large would rather not think about the topics of homelessness and mental illness," observes McCarthy. "But people who have lived through it are forced to find a place internally to store it in. This song is written from that place."

"The Instrumental," a transcendent, richly textured piece written by bassist/keyboardist Sanderson, closes out Rise Ye Sunken Ships with a hard-won hope, suggesting that struggle can ultimately point the way to peace. "It was birthed out of the chaos of living in New York City - balancing the draining moments spent working day jobs in industrial areas like Columbia Street, Sunset Park and Long Island City with the pure, romantic dreams of being a musician," recalls Sanderson.

It's a dream he and McCarthy lived for nearly a decade as members of Pela. But despite the indie band's remarkable successes -its acclaimed debut, Anytown Graffiti, landing on numerous critics' "Best of 2007" lists, sharing stages with Sonic Youth, Sleater-Kinney and The Flaming Lips and others, an appearance on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," songs licensed by such shows at "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scrubs" - Pela imploded.

"We've had to realign the way we approach our music," explains Sanderson. "But we couldn't be where we are now if Pela didn't exist." McCarthy concurs: "The lessons we've learned are like lanterns illuminating a path for us."

Explicit: The Boxer Rebellion Releases "The Runner" Video, Single Remix By The Joy Formidable Now Available For Free Download

THE BOXER REBELLION TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE "THE RUNNER" ON JUNE 27 (EXPLICIT) VIDEO DIRECTED BY OSCAR-SHORTLISTED DUO DARKFIBRE NOW ONLINE THE JOY FORMIDABLE REMIX OF "THE RUNNER" NOW AVAILABLE FOR FREE DOWNLOAD

London's The Boxer Rebellion announce the release of their second single "The Runner," taken from this year's Ethan Johns-produced epic The Cold Still. The single is packaged with a stunning music video directed by DarkFibre (Ishbel Whittaker and Marc Hawker) and an electro-rock remix by hotly-tipped Welsh trio The Joy Formidable.

The Oscar short-listed DarkFibre are causing a storm in the commercials and music video world. Their recent film for Renault, starring Dita Von Teese, was banned on daytime TV, while their video campaigns for Amnesty International are nothing short of seminal and are a must-watch. As fans of The Boxer Rebellion, they jumped at the chance to collaborate with the band and turn "The Runner" into a visually and emotionally engaging mini-masterpiece. "We took the cornerstone idea of honesty and its fragility from the lyrics and created a narrative that would be both completely surprising and utterly compelling," says co-director Ishbel Whittaker. "We wanted to make something that was playful and naughty but also profound, raw and honest."

WATCH "THE RUNNER" FROM THE BOXER REBELLION HERE

The Boxer Rebellion and The Joy Formidable are not strangers to one another. Having crossed paths at many a festival, it was only natural that a collaboration would soon be in the works. The Joy Formidable's deep, dark remix of "The Runner" is a thumping, fast-paced offering, delivering a sonic playground of furious drums, fat bass lines and electo wails in which Nathan Nicholson's vocals float about fittingly.

STREAM THE JOY FORMIDABLE REMIX OF THE BOXER REBELLION'S "THE RUNNER" HERE OR DOWNLOAD/SHARE VIA THE MEDIA PROVIDED HERE.

Released on February 1, 2011, and created in conjunction with Ethan Johns (Kings of Leon, Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne), The Cold Still, one of FILTER Magazine's "20 Most Anticipated Albums of 2011," is an exercise in master class performances and sophisticated songwriting from a band that embodies the very definition of "independent." Regarded by Billboard Magazine as an "epic, effortless offering from a quartet dead set on perfecting their pop-rock craft," The Cold Still is continuing to captivate music fans around the world. Monumental and intimate in equal measure, it is a breathtaking album bristling with tense passion, giant riffs and heartrending lyrics, all with an effortless grace that has become The Boxer Rebellion's trademark.

The Joy Formidable recently released their new album, The Big Roar, on March 15 via Canvasback/Atlantic Records. The Big Roar comes two years after their 2009 debut, A Balloon Called Moaning, which SPIN Magazine named one of the "10 Best Records You Might Have Missed in 2010." Acclaim on The Big Roar comes from the likes of NME praising its "gutsy, chest-swelling brilliance."

Chelsea Wolfe preps new releases, announces tour dates

Chelsea Wolfe announces new album, Ἀποκάλυψις (apokalypsis) & shares new single, "Mer" on Pitchfork Album out August 23rd on Pendu Sound Recordings

STREAM: "Advice & Vices"

California native Chelsea Wolfe has always embodied light and dark. Her music is a raw, dirging doom-folk with hints of black metal, deep blues and minimal synthesizer music, but it's as prone to triumph as it is despair. Her voice is both haunting and seemingly haunted, though whether by angels or demons is unclear. And her lyrics reflect an obsession not only with life's murkier moments, but the unlikely truths and beauty they so often reveal. It makes sense then that her influences run from Nick Cave and Selda Bagcan to Ayn Rand and Ingmar Bergman, and even more so that she hails from the wilder, woodsy northern part of her state. Wolfe's hometown was a small unspecified burg amidst the trees, idyllic by day and begging exploration, but forbidding once the fog crept in. Her skewed romanticism began early. At 9, she started sneaking into her father's home studio to record warped keyboard covers ("It's My Party," and The Neverending Story theme) and Gothy R&B originals. But growing up, she never shared these, and it wasn't until 2009 that she considered making music for others to hear. After a three-month stint abroad

with a nomadic performance troupe playing cathedrals, basements and old nuclear plants, Wolfe returned home inspired. She began toting around an 8-track and recording as the mood hit, eventually winding up with the songs that would become her stunning 2010 debut, The Grime & the Glow. Described as both healing and harrowing, enchanting and narcotic, the album established Wolfe as an elemental force on the rise. Just as telling were a pair of cover songs -- the timeless "You Are My Sunshine" and a deep cut from Norwegian metal icon Burzum -- that in her capable hands managed to sound equally burnt and terrifying. Drawn to Los Angeles' unique mix of gloss and grit, she moved to the city late last year and recorded her second album, Ἀποκάλυψις (pronounced "apokalypsis"), out on Pendu Sound Recordings in 2011.

About the album:

It's fitting that Chelsea Wolfe's second album opens with a hair-raising, animalistic snarl -- the sound of some beastly metamorphosis caught on tape. Ἀποκάλυψις (pronounced "apokalypsis") finds the L.A.- based artist perfecting her distinctly doom-drenched electric folk. Here she graduates from mobile 8-track experimentation to an actual studio, enlisting a few friends to help even as she maintains the strikingly visceral elements of her powerful debut, The Grime & the Glow (2010). The end result is a both a broader sprawl and a tighter claustrophobia, a serious heaviness of sound and spirit prone to unexpected moments of beauty and triumph. Rightly, the album's title is Greek for both "apocalypse" and "revelation." Wolfe's gift for tense beauty reigns supreme on "Tracks (Tall Bodies)," where warm guitar, cavernous drums, and her beguiling voice engender an elemental feeling of regret in tune with the words: It's a machine we're up against/Devoid of reason, devoid of sense." The upbeat "Demons" follows, seemingly as counterpoint, rolling forth on a damaged surf beat and becoming a careening steam engine of scratchy thrash and tortured cries. Later, "Moses" demonstrates what Wolfe may very well do best, cooing choral over grinding Sabbathy guitars, somehow hinting at an odd ebullience hidden in the dirging murk. Though Ἀποκάλυψις's tone is decidedly dark, it's a dynamic album, evidenced by buzzing, organ-soaked soul of "The Wasteland," the clanging blues of "Friedrichshain," and the haunted ambience of "To the Forest, To the Sea," which feels like a field recording from the bewitched woods of Wolfe's youth. The LP's undeniable high point however, is the unforgettable "Pale on Pale." The seven-minute song slowly bores its way into the listener's skull thanks to Wolfe's ghostly moan -- which deals death at every lyrical turn -- and the thick black metal chords that push it along. Somewhere between the blood-curdling scream and squalling feedback that close out the track, transcendence is achieved, and Wolfe's transformation into a true force of nature is complete.
