Funeral Party Heads to the Studio!

East Los Angeles- Funeral Party will be heading into the studio today to start the recording process for their first full-length album, set to release on Fearless Records in Spring of 2009.

Funeral party will be working again with producer Lars Stalfors , the engineer on the most recent Mars Volta full-length album "The Bedlam in Goliath." Lars also produced Funeral Party's debut EP "Bootleg." They will be recording at a Los Angeles studio where Mars Volta frequently rehearses and records their material. Also joining the band in the studio is special guest drummer Alfredo Ortiz, current drummer for Latin rock-band Ozomatli, and the studio drummer for the popular Beastie Boys.

The full-length record will be a follow up to Funeral Party's three track EP "Bootleg," which was released in November of 2008 and features the tracks, Carwars, NYC Moves to the Sound of LA, and Chalice.

Funeral Party opened for LA Weekley's Detour this October, alongside Justice, Cut Copy Moving Units, The Faint, Mickey Avalon, and more. They have had club dates and tours with artists such as Yelle (Astral Werks) and Friendly Fires (XL Records.)

Funeral Party has a sound all their own...it is melodic without being overly poppy, with a lyrical tone that is perfectly forceful, without being overbearing.
