** Visionary Electronic Composer Ben Watkins is Back with Most Wide-Ranging and Surprising Work Yet **
New York, NY, March 17 – Juno Reactor returns on April 22 with their seventh full-length release Gods & Monsters. The nine-track work was recorded and mixed at Ridge Farm Studios in England by mastermind Ben Watkins alongside Adz and Chris Lewis.
Informed by Watkins’ soundtrack for work for both of The Matrix sequels and the Anime films Brave Story and Dimension Bomb, Gods & Monsters shows Juno Reactor on another level. From the nervous rhythm of “Inca Steppa” to the epic cinematic jazz of “Las Vegas Future Past” and the downtempo stomp of “City of the Sinful”, the album is Juno Reactor’s most wide-ranging to date. And what will truly catch fans off-guard is be the closing track “Pretty Girl” where Watkins provides lead vocals in near-Leonard Cohen style on this soaring, heavenly ballad.
God & Monsters achieves its astounding diversity through an incredible array of guest musicians which include guitarists Eduardo Nielbla, Sugizo and Steve Stevens (Billy Idol) avant-garde pianist Mike Garson (David Bowie), bassist Dr. Das (Asian Dub Foundation), percussionists Greg Ellis and Mabi Thobajane and vocalists Yasmin Levy, Ghetto Priest (On-U Sound) and Taz Alexander.
Ben Watkins initially formed Juno Reactor in 1990 as an art project to collaborate with other artists and produce and be involved in projects that were not commercially driven. This umbrella would later evolve into something that would produce many critically-acclaimed albums, motion picture scores and incredible live performances.
Juno Reactor will tour internationally in support of God & Monsters throughout 2008.
