Group Reveals Cover Art And Tracklisting For
The Green Album In Stores October 28th

California based rip-hop hybrids the Kottonmouth Kings have donated over $3,000 from this year’s successful Strange Noize Tour to the wounded soldiers of Ward 57. The group banded together with Doug Cox, owner of the national street marketing company Poster Giant, along with designers Alex Lewis and Eoin Doherty of the Mazui Foundation to create a one-of-a-kind tour poster that was sold on this year’s Strange Noize Tour.
"No matter what your political views are, everyone can appreciate the fact that the wounded soldiers are our brothers and sisters that need our help. We owe it them to pick up the torch and make sure that these soldiers have what they need," says Kottonmouth Kings frontman Brad X. "The donation we made to Ward 57 this year is only a fraction of is needed financially to continue giving these soldiers the best possible care. Let's make sure that none of these soldiers are ever forgotten. We are asking everyone to pitch in and make a donation through Ward 57's website, because even a couple dollars can make a huge difference if we all band together in times of need."
The proceeds from the sale of the poster went directly to the Ward 57 and will go towards the purchase of such items such as amputee wheelchairs, medical equipment, DVD players, TVs, movies, music, washing machines and other items needed to bring the best quality of life possible to the country’s wounded soldiers. The partnership brought together two groups of people who might have opposing political, religious or social views, but put personal barriers aside to help those in need. Ward 57 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) in Washington D.C. is filled with those that have been torn apart both physically and mentally. They are taking months to recover only to be discharged to substandard housing for even more recovery time, with some taking years. This is the ward of the forgotten. To date there are at least 750 American amputees due to the Iraq War.

The album will land in stores October 28th, 2008 through the group’s own Suburban Noize Records. In an effort to continuously spread their message of peace and positive vibrations the group will be donating a percentage of profits from the sale of album to various environmental causes.
For the release of the Kottonmouth Kings monumental tenth studio album, the group pulled out all the stops. Consisting of twenty-one prime cuts recorded over a six month stretch at the group’s own Burbank, CA based studio, “The Green Album” blends together earth shattering hip-hop, rawkus punk-rock and soulful acoustics to create the group’s career defining release. The album is anchored by collaborations with hip-hop’s hottest rapper, Tech N9ne, on "Sex Toy", Oregon's king of rapid-fire rhyme the Dirtball on “Green Grass” and hip-hop legend Brother J of X-Clan spitting his brand of ancestral wisdom on “Free World”.
The album release comes on the heels of the Kottonmouth Kings headlining this summer’s biggest underground music tour, The Strange Music Festival alongside Tech N9ne. The tour smashed all expectations with huge turnouts and over 90% of the two-month tour was sold out beyond capacity. The tour is proof that the underground musical movement spearheaded by its headliner’s can no longer be ignored by the mainstream.

Brent Amaker & The Rodeo releases Howdy Do! on November 18, 2008!
The intercontinental cowboys in Brent Amaker and the Rodeo are on a mission to spread their brand of country music to the world, and they're getting around. Dressed in black from hat to boots, the men of the Rodeo have been racking up the miles in 2007 and 2008, playing club and festival dates, and making radio appearances across the US and Canada, Germany, Holland, Belgium, and Great Britain. Electroclash icon Matt Sims to release Happily Ever After, a departure from dance music that brims with great songs.
“Prince first dreamed up the blueprint for this kind of thing back in 1980 with the release of his galaxy-smashing Dirty Mind album. Glaring defiantly from the stark black-and-white cover clad in a pair of panties and a trench coat, the music inside was just as startling. Combing the swinging power pop of The Cars with gender-bending sexuality and a punk rock attitude, Dirty Mind can still warp a mind. Mt. Sims, from his blurry ethnicity to the studded neon girls at his flanks, has obviously learned a thing or three from the purple pioneer. But where Prince was always channeling heroes like James Brown and Little Richard, Sims’ sounds like he ultimately wants to grow up to become Soft Cell. Really, that’s all just shorthand for ‘ Mt. Matt Sims began startling audiences since 2000 with his unusually provocative performances that mix equal amounts political satire , surreal imagery and sensual debauch. With three dancers (à la The Fall), this performance group explored the contemporary connections between media, consumerism, sex, and entertainment. Gaining comparisons from artist Paul McCarthy’s food work to James Brown’s hip work, this show caused enough of a stir to get the attention of DJ Hell who quickly signed them to his International DJ Gigolo Records label alongside the likes of Tuxedo Moon, Terence Fixmer, CROSSOVER, Vitalic and Linda Lamb. The release of Mt. Sims’s first album Ultrasex on Emperor Norton Records, now a cult classic electro-pop album, put Sims on the map internationally with the hit song “Hate Fuck.”
After releasing a second album Wild Light and touring extensively throughout Europe as a three-piece band (as opposed to a performance art piece as was the case with Ultrasex) Sims decided on breaking the band up and relocating to Berlin, Germany. It is here that Sims began working on the new incarnation of the band with Randy Twigg on bass, Andre Lange on drums, and Thomas Stern of Crime and The City Solution at the behind the sound and production. A long-distance friendship between Sims and Hungry Eye Records (New York City/ Montreal, home of The Bellmer Dolls, Sixteens, The Holy Kiss) led to a collaboration and the release of a limited 12”, the A Grave EP, and now the third full length, Happily Ever After. This new album is an even further departure from electronic dance music and is creepier and more aggressive in its content than any other Mt. Sims album, featuring guest musicians Jessie Evans (Vanishing, Autonervous, Subtonix) and Toby Damit (Swans, Iggy Pop). Happily Ever After is set for release on Hungry Eye Records this fall.

LOS ANGELES, September 19, 2008 - Sometimes so much can be said without saying a thing. Pulsating somewhere between post-rock and dance floor-ready electro, El Ten Eleven's new LP, These Promises Are Being Videotaped, is an instrumental album that speaks volumes without uttering a word. Timed with the November 18 release on Fake Record Label, the Los Angeles duo will masterfully bring these jaw-dropping compositions to life, armed with only a doubleneck bass/guitar, acoustic/electronic drums and a stage full of effects pedals, splitting time between rock venues and dance clubs, to a town near you.
Recorded in April 2008 at Clifton Studios in Montrose, Calif., These Promises Are Being Videotaped was created with a fretless bass, acoustic drums and an electronic kit. The two-man project of Kristian Dunn and Tim Fogarty, who pull double duty as the rhythm section in the critically acclaimed art-pop band The SoftLightes (Modular Records), explore new musical territory on their third full-length. "I just became obsessed with electro music," Dunn explains. "I've been going to a lot of DJ-type events and listening to music by artists like Boys Noize, Justice, Digitalism, Soulwax, etc. A lot of that music is really digital and created on computers. It has been our latest challenge to try to do this style of music live with real instruments and looping pedals."
The irresistibly titled "Jumping Frenchmen of Maine" launches the album with a throbbing bass and a steady kick drum before it erupts into a four-on-the-floor rager full of what influential blog Music For Robots describes as "absolutely sick dance riffs." "Parts that would normally go to a synth and sound flat or tired sound explosive when played on live bass here," they exclaim. "These dudes just keep getting better and better."
Clever titles such as "I Like Van Halen Because My Sister Says They Are Cool," "Fat Gym Riot," and "Adam and Nathan Totally Kick Ass" prevail throughout the album's eight tracks, highlighting the pair's sense of humor and imagination, but what is most apparent is their newfound groove. As almost a mission statement of their abilities, the band tackles Radiohead's signature song "Paranoid Android" and deconstructs it into a dark dance tune demonstrating their creativity and adroit musicianship.
Appropriately their music has been used to soundtrack myriad television shows such as "The Real World," "Shalom In The Home," "So You Think You Can Dance," and was most recently heard during the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards as Kobe Bryant took the stage. The Independent Spirit Award-nominated documentary "Helvetica" prominently featured the band's music over beautiful typography-filled cinematography.
Having just wrapped up some dates with Pinback, the duo will embark on their third national tour this fall with many more dates to be announced soon. OC Weekly recently caught one of those gigs and called it "octave-hopping, mind-boggling, looped anarchy." Adding, "[Kristian's] instrumental prowess bordered on ridiculous when he effortlessly switched to a fretless bass for some slinky bass lines."

THE WILD STORY OF SHANNON HOON AND BLIND MELON IS TOLD IN THE NEW BOOK, ‘A DEVIL ON ONE SHOULDER AND AN ANGEL ON THE OTHER’
One of the most tragic stories of the 1990’s rock world was that of singer Shannon Hoon, and his band, Blind Melon. Despite scoring one of the decade’s most enduring singles and videos, “No Rain,” and a quadruple platinum hit with their 1992 self-titled debut album (in addition to touring alongside rock’s biggest names), Hoon could not overcome a dangerous drug addiction. ‘A Devil on One Shoulder’ was written by journalist Greg Prato, whose work as appeared in a variety of sites and magazines, including All Music Guide, Billboard.com, Rolling Stone.com, and Classic Rock Magazine, among others. A long-time fan of the band, Greg has been working on this book - with the help of the surviving members of the band - for the past few years. In the process, Greg conducted interviews with such renowned rock names as Duff McKagan (Velvet Revolver/Guns N’ Roses), Gilby Clarke (G n’ R), Mike Clink (G n’ R producer), Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains), Mike Inez (Alice in Chains), and Craig Ross (Lenny Kravitz), plus family and friends - including Shannon’s mother, Nel Hoon.
While it will obviously appeal to fans of Shannon and Blind Melon, this 344 page paperback book (whose title comes from a phrase that guitarist Rogers Stevens once said to describe Shannon) will also be of interest to fans of Guns N’ Roses, as Shannon’s friendship with Axl Rose is chronicled throughout the years, as well as memories of when Melon opened shows for G n’ R in 1993 (at their out-of-control peak). Ok these two guys, they’re disgusted with everything except their families and sex. So, after they sniffed one another out, one said, “We should make a record so one of us doesn’t end up a sniper in a McDonald’s.” The other one said, “Yeah, OK, but I’m not leaving my house.” Anyway, Palumbo and LK - the guys in question - decided that “Palumbo and LK” sounded like some bogus tree hugging folk duo (which, of course they also hate). One of them said, “Everything is made in Chinaif I didn’t know better, I would think my kids were manufactured there.” The other, more detail oriented one, said, “No, not the parts of your kids, lots of their parts are made here in the US, but maybe your kids were ASSEMBLED in China.” Then they said, whatever let’s call our band MADE IN CHINA. So, please don’t ask either one of them about that ever again.
LK, an anal retentive obsessive compulsive, went to Columbia. The school, not the country, which is spelled differently anyway. He graduated and then bagged it before becoming a lawyer, cause who wants all that money and power? Instead, he went into music. “Idiot,” said dad. “Don’t be a fool,” said mom. LK produced and mixed, cause that made him BOSS, and he lovessssssss being BOSS. He worked on the Chili Peppers, played with Herbie Hancock, and lots of other stuff the world thinks is even more important that he doesn’t want to talk about right now.
Palumbo, a Zen Buddhist head-in-the-clouds loon who thinks life is to be taken on a moment by moment basis, went to school, quit, and went into music. “Idiot,” said dad. “Don’t be a fool,” said mom. Palumbo formed this band called Crack The Sky and they did okay, until he saw that they were on the verge of breaking big, then he bagged that, cause yep, same thing money and power! He went back to school so mom and dad would put him back in their will, and actually became a doctor of psychology. Then, he met LK. The meeting went something like this:
LK: I would like to produce you.
Palumbo: Sure.
LK: Can I be boss?
Palumbo: Sure.
LK bossed Palumbo around and made this record called Citizen X. One day, while Palumbo was searching the Jenna Jameson websites down in the studio, LK was piddling on the piano. Palumbo listened and said, “Whoa, hey you write that?” LK, wonderful at being boss, but a little rusty when it came to his own stuff, said”well” Palumbo became uncharacteristically overbearing and begged LK to show him his songs. Like a kid who just got caught - well, looking at Jenna - LK reluctantly showed some songs to Palumbo.
Palumbo: This is really good stuff.
LK: It’s
Palumbo: No, it’s better than good I can make it better, but it’s really good.
LK: Can I be boss?

After traveling back and forth between Athens and Berlin for the last three years and playing shows in the US and Germany with bands in both places, Dancer Vs. Politician is getting ready to tour the US this fall. She is bringing a three-piece backing band, featuring keyboards, samples, glockenspiel, viola, drums, and bass.
Produced by Matt Yelton (The Pixies, Frank Black), Andy Baker (The Glands, Azure Ray, Shannon Wright), and Sanni herself, the album A City Half-Lost features a number of Athens and Berlin musicians. The players include members of Phosphorescent, The Olivia Tremor Control, The Glands, and Five-Eight. It was recorded over a period of two years in Athens, Georgia, and Berlin, Germany. Stomp And Stammer calls it “…a wondrous masterpiece, like a Nico album performed by ghosts and angels. Find it, buy it.” (April 2007).
Of of the tracks on the album, the Nikki Sudden song "Ratcliffe Highway" is featured on the Nikki Sudden tribute album "Suddenly Yours" on Sunthunder Records (Spain). THE B-52s 'LIVE IT UP ON THE DAY OF THE DEAD' IN NYC WITH GUESTS SPECIAL DISCO VERSION AND HERCULES & LOVE AFFAIR
The B-52s will "Live It Up On The Day Of The Dead' in NYC on Saturday, November 1 with a special concert at Manhattan Center's Hammerstein Ballroom. The “Worlds Greatest Party Band,” will celebrate El Día de los Muertos with guests Special Disco Version (featuring James Murphy and Pat Mahoney of LCD Soundsystem) and Hercules & Love Affair. The band will be playing tracks off their new album Funplex, as well as a host of old faves.
2008 has been a wild year for the band. It started in March when they exploded back on the scene with their first studio album in sixteen years, Funplex. With its primal guitar hooks, driving drums and their unmistakable vocal style, the album was instantly recognizable as quintessential and contemporary B-52s and was well received by fans and critics alike. It also brought in a whole new generation of fans who reveled in their unique fusion of dance, punk and vintage rock that has already been acknowledged by everyone from REM to LCD Soundsystem to David Byrne, Interpol, CSS and the Scissor Sisters. Since their 1978 debut single ‘Rock Lobster’, the B-52s have been true originators and Funplex keeps this same spirit alive.
They went on to play a triumphant 13 city sold out US tour before diving straight into the True Colors Festival this summer, and then heading to Europe where they launched their first tour there in 10 years. The tour culminated in a stupendous, sold out show at London’s Roundhouse Theater. Each and every show was a riotous performance of full-throttle electro rock dance pop prompting Rolling Stone to proclaim- “Every time they take a stage, The B-52s prove that there has never been another band remotely like them" They also appeared on just about every TV show on the air including Ellen, The Tonight Show, The Today Show, Live with Regis and Kelly, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and Extra.
The band recently released the “Juliet of the Spirits” Remix EP which features remixes from some of world’s most sought-after electronic producers - Zoned Out, Dan McKie, Glenn Morrison & Bruce Aisher, and Morgan Page.
