Ann Arbor, Michigan rock band SycAmour are excited to premiere their new music video for "We're In Hell," on Loudwire! The album was produced by Johnny Franck, mixed/mastered by Nick Sampson and includes guest vocals by Trenton Woodley (Hands Like Houses) and Phil Druyor (Attack Attack!,  I Am Abomination). The Motet Announces "New Year's Eve in Funklandia"

The Motet is leading the new Funk revival and today the band announces a special New Year’s Eve celebration at Portland, Oregon’s Crystal Ballroom on December 31, 2014.  Known for throwing some of the best dance parties around, The Motet’s “New Year’s Eve in Funklandia” promises a festive night of great music, good vibes, and plenty of surprises. The Motet has been on tour this summer in support of their brand new album, simply titled The Motet. Fresh off festival stops including Summer Camp, Northwest String Summit, Euphoria Camping & Music Festival and a sold-out Red Rocks performance, the band is set to return to Colorado’s Front Range for their famed annual Halloween shows along Colorado’s Front Range.  Unveiled as this year’s always-anticipated theme for the famed parties:  “Mixtape 1975.” Tickets for The Motet’s “Mixtape 1975” shows are currently on sale at www.themotet.net. 
 
Meanwhile, outside of the extensive tour dates, “More energy is being put toward writing original music,” Motet vocalist Jans Ingber explains.  “That’s the difference between The Motet four years ago and The Motet now.”
 
In this spirit, The Motet recently released their self-titled 7^th album, which has been hailed as “ambitious, airtight and built to travel” (Boulder Weekly). The nine tracks on The Motet (released February 2014) seamlessly showcase an evolved, keenly refined musical vision of The Motet; a band committed to pushing the sonic envelope, while remaining dedicated to the musical traditions - funk, afrobeat, disco, jazz, and soul - that have long defined their sound. The Motet are well known in Colorado and beyond for keeping audiences in a dancing frenzy by layering precise and vibrant live instrumentation and electronic rhythms into a style that is uniquely their own. And in this age when EDM reigns over the dance music scene, The Motet is proof that funk is not even close to dead.  For this studio recording, each member of the band contributed to the writing and arranging of the album’s nine original songs.  Using traditional analog recording methods including tape, tubes and transistors, the music on The Motet offers all the crunch and bite of a classic 70’s funk record and is warm, rich, and organic in tone. The Empty Hearts, a new band featuring members of The Cars, Blondie, The Romantics and The Chesterfield Kings, signed to 429 Records which will release their eponymous debut album tomorrow in the U.S. and Canada (and in Australia, Europe and Japan, release dates below). The band, consisting of four iconic players and musical peers, features Elliot Easton on lead guitar, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Clem Burke on drums, Wally Palmar on vocals, harmonica and guitar and Andy Babiuk on bass. Co-produced by the band and Ed Stasium, The Empty Hearts is a raucous collection of tunes with each player's rock 'n' roll stripes on display - a bracing sound shaped by influences which span decades and include 50s American roots rock 'n' roll, 60s British invasion and 70s garage-punk. Described by Music Connection as "a well-crafted, highly enjoyable bundle of snap, crackle and pop," the album was recorded at Fab Gear Studios in Rochester, NY and also includes the Faces' Hall of Fame keyboardist Ian McLagan on Hammond organ and Wurlitzer electric piano. The Empty Hearts will be released tomorrow in the U.S. and Canada on 429 Records. 429 Records also released the album in Australia (8/1) and Europe (8/4). The album will be released in Japan on 8/6. The Empty Hearts (a name coined by Little Steven from his secret list of unused band names), is a band who sound like musical cohorts-all came of age in the 70's and 80's music scenes and play by a DIY punk rock code of ethics. About Roses:

Dream pop trio Roses formed in early 2013 while guitarist Juan Velasquez was on hiatus from playing with L.A. darkwavers Abe Vigoda. Velasquez had met singer/keyboardist Marc Steinberg the year prior at an L.A. gay bar and traded mix tapes with him, sharing a love of female singers like Yoko Ono, Julee Cruise and Marianne Faithful, while he and bassist Victor Herrera met at an Abe Vigoda show at the Smell eight years ago, bonding over bands like 10,000 Maniacs, The Sundays and The Cranberries.

The three-piece recorded early demos that reflected that love of delicate '90s pop alongside industrial beats and shoegaze guitars, playing alongside bands like Dum Dum Girls and Crocodiles and touring the West Coast. With the four-song Dreamlover EP out August 5 on Group Tightener, the band has honed their sound down to a fine point, blending shimmering guitarwork with washes of dreamy synth and New Order-inspired basslines on new waver "Florence Girls" and nostalgic ballad "The Fog." Steinberg's lilting tenor sails on woozy keys and waves of distortion on "Icicle" and skips with David Byrne-esque abandon over a stuttering beat and walking bassline on pop jam "It's Over."

SORXE: Cvlt Nation Leaks Track From Debut Album By Diverse Doom/Sludge Quartet

Preceding its release at the beginning of September, the opening track to Phoenix, Arizona-based sludge/doom metal outfit, SORXE's debut album, Surrounded By Shadows, is now playing at Cvlt Nation. "Steamroller" wastes zero time getting started, the opening riff hitting with a the instantaneous power of a pyroclastic flow, and immediately morphing into something as simultaneously mournful as it is beautiful, a trait which carries through seemingly ever subsequent riff and passage on the nearly hour-long Surrounded By Shadows.
