THE WILD FEATHERS ANNOUNCE FALL 2014 TOUR DATES

American rock quintet The Wild Feathers have announced that they will hit the road for additional tour dates this fall in support of their self-titled, critically lauded debut album. The seemingly indefatigable Nashville quintet has continued to organically grow its audience at a rapid pace, with constant touring and barn-storming shows at clubs around the world and festivals across the country, including Bonnaroo, Firefly, and Summerfest this summer.

The Wild Feathers' upcoming fall tour includes a show at New York City's fabled Irving Plaza, marking their fourth headlining show in NYC - a city that has embraced the band from the very beginning. They will also perform at the Squamish Valley Music Festival and the Voodoo Music Experience, as well as headline their hometown's Live on the Green Festival. Please see below for all tour dates. It's no wonder that Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Gary Clark Jr., Sheryl Crow, Paul Simon and countless others have become fans of their hybrid take on rock, country, folk & classic soul informed by masterful song craft, souring vocal harmonies and infused with Stones/Faces- swagger: Support on all fall tour dates from The Apache Relay and Desert Noises.

"Classic rock DJs have been itching for this band for years. The Wild Feathers channel their Nashville roots with fast-stepping, unmistakably Southern country-rock suggesting a sprightly union of My Morning Jacket and Neil Young." - The New York Times

"They soar on the chemistry and cooperation between no fewer than tree expert songsmiths. Then they elaborate their compositions with the wafting harmonies of four of the five band members...Examples range from the Byrds and Buffalo Springfield to Traffic and Fleetwood Mac...Think the Jayhawkes kicked from behind by The Heartbreakers. American roots music with flat-out rock." - The NY Daily News

"Something that fans of heartland artists like the Avett Brothers and My Morning Jacket will appreciate while it recalls the magic of Tom Petty and Neil Young" - Rolling Stone

In addition, the video for the band's new video for "Left My Woman premieres today on Relix.com /Jambands.com.

Bio:

Philadelphia, PA's Literature features Kevin Attics, Nathaniel Cardaci, Chris Schackerman, and Seth Whaland. Attics, who'd written for numerous music trades as a teen, met Cardaci and Whaland at the house venue they both operated in Austin, TX. Cardaci and Whaland each ran small imprint labels and, a million adventures later, the trio decided to form a band. Upon moving to Philadelphia the group befriended Schackerman who also joined the fold.

In 2012, following a well-received single and a track on Gerard Cosloy's "Casual Victim Pile II" compilation they released their debut album, Arab Spring, which became a cult hit within the indiepop community. That album is sharp and immediate, almost mod-ish in its attack, but always tuneful and going for melody where it counts. They toured the US in support, and have performed with the likes of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Eternal Summers, Ted Leo, Sic Alps, White Fence, Gentlemen Jesse, Hospitality, and Brown Recluse. They also appeared on Terre T's Cherry Blossom Clinic.

In 2013 they released a follow-up 7", "Tie Dye" and contributed a track to Esopus Magazine alongside artists like Jens Lekman and The Shins. They also played at that year's NYC Popfest, which helped cement the buzz that was steadily growing amongst savvy pop fans. Arab Spring was treated to a re-mastered re-press, which followed the first pressing and quickly sold out.

Autumn of 2013 saw the band begin work on their second album, Chorus, with lauded engineer Gary Olson (whose body of work includes records by Crystal Stilts, Mad Scene and The Beets) at his Marlborough Farms studio in Brooklyn, NY. As a beautiful autumn turned into one of the harshest winters in recent memory, Olson and the band began stretching out, enhancing the album with studio techniques dating back to the late 60s including true-tape flanging, sending vocals through Leslie speaker cabinets, and the same analog style of automatic double-tracking created at Abbey Road Studios.

The result is an album that is as immediate as it is timeless, full of effortlessly catchy and well-crafted tunes that echo pop legends like Smiths and Orange Juice. All of that time in the studio has resulted in a rich, considered sound that puts the band's arranging and playing front and center. Chorus is one of the most exciting pop records in years, and marks Literature at true contenders.

Some might not consider St. Louis, Missouri a hotbed for captivating music, yet CHOIR VANDALS are among a new crop of bands from the city challenging such a notion.  Their brand of alternative / indie rock caught the attention of many with the release of the impressive Darker Things EP in late 2013 and the momentum hasn't let up since. Soon after their debut surfaced, the band signed with 6131 Records and began crafting what would becoming their sophomore effort At Night, an EP with four songs that all equally merit notice for their great songwriting and brooding catchiness.

The band teamed with Wondering Sound to premiere the opening track to At Night, entitled "Monsters", which can be heard the link below.

BOWL ETHEREAL Releases New Video Via Noisey; Sophomore 7-Inch EP Out Now On Southern Lord

Following the recent unleashing of their self-titled sophomore 7" via Southern Lord, Virginia-based instrumental math metal duo BOWL ETHEREAL has just released an official video for the track "The Last Minute" from the EP, as well as an in-depth interview with the creators of this venture, via Vice Magazine's online music channel, Noisey.

Comprised of Brian Metz (Amish Control Tower) on guitar, bass and production, and Pen Rollings (Honor Role, Breadwinner, Loincloth) on drums and arrangement/deconstruction duties, BOWL ETHEREAL loadS each track with crushingly heavy riffs and sturdy rhythms, displaying absolute precision, where every drum beat, every guitar riff and every unexpected musical corner they turn is calculated for maximum impact. While the six tracks of Bowl Ethereal clock in at only six minutes, six seconds in total, the brevity of the band's output is far superseded by its potency, each of their mangled, minute-long arrangements packing massive amounts of crushing power, the EP mastered by Brad Boatright (From Ashes Rise, Sleep, Integrity, Nails) and limited to 600 copies worldwide. The resulting record may be short, but its unpredictably dynamic flow cries out for repeated listens.

The official video for "The Last Minute" is now playing via Noisey/Vice at THIS LOCATION.

STENCH reveal "Venture" album details

Death metal trio STENCH will release its sophomore album entitled "Venture" on the26th of September in Europe and 7th of October in North America via Agonia Records. The follow-up to the band's debut opus "In Putrescence" has been in the making since 2010 and along with the artwork, "has accumulated enough power to swing ones senses to the sky" - comments STENCH. The artwork - which is an important factor to the trio's music - was crafted by Necromantic Art (Tribulation,Necrovation, Venenum, Decomposed) and can be seen below.

"Venture" features seven brand new songs reminiscent of horror infected old-school death metal, but with a otherworldly vibe which prudently creeps into the music and makes it even more adventurous. At times harmonious and melodic, at times dreadful and rowdy - the Swedes play their own game, picturing fear, anxiety and risk with their instruments.

Jonathan HultĂ©n (guitars) comments:

"Venture" is a journey from the rawest, most monotonous cellar-darkness up to a desolate mountain top, from which you are thrown into the abyss below in a castanedian manner. If only but for a moment or even throughout the whole 38 minutes, be prepared to enter the other world.

For four years we have been boiling down our material to the bone in pursuit of the essence of this type of music. Our conclusion is that the simple and repetitive riffing is holding the key, and is enhanced by more or less subtle choirs and sound textures. Primitive, yet atmospheric".

The album was recorded in Necromorbus Studio (Watain, Portrait) in Stockholm, Sweden. It will be available in a digipack CD, digitally and in a 12" vinyl (black, limited picture disc and a special colour version).

Tracklist:

1. Archways
2. The Vast
3. Road
4. Small Death
5. Celebration
6. Way
7. Venture

Line-up:

Mikael Pettersson - vocals
Jonathan Hultén - guitars
Johannes Andersson - drums

STENCH's music is "fast, up tempo and with a bit of a crossover vibe" (About.com). While Decibel Magazine pointed out band's ability in crafting "haunting melodies", One Metal wrote in a review that: "Stench bill themselves as blackened death, but they lean much more heavily towards the death side of things. There’s definitely a blackened influence, but if I may use a cooking metaphor, black metal is the herb garnish atop the smooth, creamy, progressive death risotto".

The doors to band's second full-length were opened by a self titled 7"EP, released earlier this year in a black and limited to 100 copies blue vinyl, and featuring three new songs.

STENCH is recommended for fans of Autopsy, Repugnant, Tribulation, Kaamos,Entombed, Master's Hammer and Watain.

MEGATON LEVIATHAN: Psychedelic Doom Masters Release Sophomore Full-Length Via Seventh Rule Next Month; Summer Live Performances Confirmed

The only constant is change. Standing in stark contrast to the droning, gorgeous slabs of psychedelic and atmospherically infused doom that comprise the aural output of MEGATON LEVIATHAN, the band itself has been in a constant state of flux since its inception in 2007. By the end of 2012, despite the official announcement of a new album, not only that album, but the fate of the entire project itself were positioned beneath a very precariously dangled sword. Circumstance and internal conflict nearly saw the band's next major release a specter with no corporeal form. However, after a redoubling of effort, a reshuffling of the deck and some inevitable missteps along the way, MEGATON LEVIATHAN's second full length album, Past 21: Beyond The Arctic Cell, has emerged from the chaos of its birth pangs, prepared to thoroughly swath a blazing path through the dense forest of the modern musical landscape.

Mixed by Mort Subite (V.I.I.R.L., Alfheimr, Benighted in Sodom live), MEGATON LEVIATHAN's newest resident thaumaturgist, Past 21 is a near lethal dose of solemn audio narcotic, shifting the listener somewhere outside the realm of space-time for the duration of its dissociative transduction from speakers to brain. Glacial, yet burning with divine fire, Past 21's spell is simultaneously whispered in a hallowed chapel, and torn from a throat rent by the gnashing of teeth.

Past 21: Beyond The Arctic Cell Track Listing:
1. Past 21
2. The Foolish Man
3. Arctic Cell
4. Here Come The Tears

In April of 2014, MEGATON founder and lone original member, Andrew James Costa Reuscher and Subite took Past 21 on the road for a first round of West Coast dates as a one man show/performance piece, featuring heavy visual elements, Reuscher the unifying human component, and Subite as the hidden hand, mixing live audio. MEGATON LEVIATHAN later tapped V.I.I.R.L. drummer Markus Covello to join the onstage lineup. With Reuscher handling vocal and guitar operations, and Subite continuing his live audio duties, this revamped, three-man cast will form the core of the MEGATON LEVIATHAN live experience for the duration of the forthcoming West Coast dates surrounding Deadfest in Oakland where the band will perform alongside the likes of Ephemeros, Connoisseur, Augurs and more.
